I remember when things in the backrooms weren't "Cannon" or not. we all had our own ideas of what was and what want real, and it worked because the backrooms is inherently infinite; anything and everything could exist, therefore its up to you whether or not reported "levels" were real. I'm talking about this now because on r/backrooms, they are having a "Cannon discussion thread" which in my opinion is fucking in insane. the fact that you could craft your own story and unique level or entity, just for a group of people to decide that it never happened or isn't real all without your opinion is fucking insane. the backrooms are RANDOM there isn't any defined rules or "real" levels. its all random! there are some great levels and stories that aren't real just because people decided it wasn't.
And that's the problem, if we establish a cannon (which ruins the idea of the backrooms anyway) we ditch a lot of interesting ideas for no reason. I don't have any other solutions as to how to fix all the rampant shitposting that happens on the backrooms, I just think that a "cannon" isn't the way to go.
That being said, my ideas aren't final and I would be ready to have my opinions changed. Any good reasons as to why we should take our "cannons" seriously would be appreciated.
