There has recently been some discussion about removing all exits from the backrooms from the wiki. The idea behind this is that having exits is inconsistant with the lore because, if exists exist, why would anyone be stuck in the backrooms to begin with? What people don't seem to realize is that there is another plot hole in our lore, just as severe as this one, that everyone seems to ignore.
The Plot Hole: If there our levels in the backrooms like level 11 that exist outside, then why would anyone stay in the indoor levels like level 0? Most people would rather live in a city, a jungle, an island, or where ever, then in the indoor hell of level 0, 1, 2, and most "traditional levels". If even a single outdoor level existed in the backrooms, then almost every single group would relocate to that level. The whole point of the backrooms originally was that it was an indoor hellscape. What's the point of the indoor hellscape if people can easily access outdoor levels?
The Solution: Outdoor levels and exits should both be allowed because they both open up massive amounts of story opportunities. Many people forget that quite a bit of the original backrooms lore, before the creation of the subreddit and wiki, was based off of the idea that the backrooms were escapable. The videogame still assumes that the backrooms are escapable. As for outdoor levels, many of the best an most well written levels on this site are outdoors, including level alien world, arguably the best level on this site. The solution is not to ban these things, the solution is to regulate them. What I mean by that is that we should create reasons why not everyone can access the exits, or why not everyone can access the outdoor levels. It's similar to how we dealt with the dev room, rather then deleting it, we modified it so that it made more sense lore-wise.
Here are some ideas that could improve the lore on this wiki.
1: The backrooms is massive, probably infinite. Different parts of the backrooms have different rules. Even though people think of level 0 as a single place, it's really many different places that all look the same. In some places you can escape, in others, you can't. In some places you can access outdoor levels, in some places, it's not even possible to access level 1. If you're stuck in a place in level 0 where there is no exit into any other level, then you can slowly make your way to a place with an exit if you know how, but most people don't have a map of the backrooms so they would have no idea where to go.
2: Individuals can learn how to no-clip through practice. Many levels in the backrooms are only accessible to expert no-clippers. Ordinary humans who have not developed no-clipping ability will never be able to access most levels.
3: There is a strange race of extradimensional beings that try to keep humans trapped in the backrooms. Anytime people get close to an exit, the beings will try to interfere and prevent them from reaching the exit. The beings also endeavor to prevent people from reaching outdoor levels or even levels other then the first few.
