"I had to do everything I could for my little girl ever since Laura left. Raising a little girl as a single dad may seem easy in some cases but how will that single father raise his daughter when she's growing up into a young lady? After seeing her grow and mature, I would feel proud of the hard work I put in, trying to make her happy. But a child should never have to grow up without their mother..."
It was 9:46 pm. Douglas was sprawled out on his queen-sized bed, attempting to fall asleep. But it was so difficult to go to sleep with no worries, stress, or guilt. He turned, trying to get comfortable, but noticed the door to his bed room slightly ajar. He stared at the bits of dim light escaping through the doors narrow crack, processing. Than he heard a shuffle at the foot of his bed. He knew immediately knew who's presence was at the foot of his bed. "Vivian, what are you doing up?" he mumbled as he sat up in his bed. His daughter walked to his side of the bed, holding "Wispy Whiskers", her cotton kitten plush. "I had a nightmare... it had a lot of blood..." she whispered, shuffling closer to Douglas. Douglas sighed and picked her up under her arms. "You wanna talk about it?". Vivian snuggled up to Douglas's chest and nodded. "Mommy was hurting you... I couldn't help you..." she whispered as she shuffled under the blankets. "Don't worry sweetie, she's gone far away now. She can't hurt me anymore." Douglas said while holding his daughter close to his chest, rocking slowly as a form to soothe her. "I didn't want to be left alone dad.". She sniffled as she stuffed her face into the crook of his neck. He laid down in the bed, cuddling Vivian. There was a long pause, only the sound of breathing could be heard. "You will never be alone... I promise.".
"You are my sunshine"
"My only sunshine"
"You make me happy..."
"When skies are gray"
"You'll never know dear..."
"How much I love you"
"Please don't take my sunshine away"
(taking a break here, just wanting to know if the story is good so far!)

@Helpiminthebackrooms3 hey uhm... your post isn't related to the thread, sorry :(
Make it more sad with his child dying to a server drone [if you want it's just a idea that you can use later on or something]
Lol
I LOOK LIKE A BROWN JELLYBEAN WITH LEGS WHYYYYYYY
That's pretty good. The little interactions of Vivian and Douglas just make their eventual fates even sadder
Yep
What do you think?
