TLDR: They're overrated and overused. So many bad pages with almost no content, almost no details, then just slap logs there.
Adding logs will not magically makes your page good. Most of logs are just few lines of dialogue that are not even written properly, and sounds like bunch of text that people would send via online chat.
When I start writing few years ago, I also use logs for my pages in the SCP wiki, because I really like writing stories. However, I NEVER rely on logs, because there are barely any stories there. If you wanna add lore to your pages, might as well write actual research logs, that documented the anomalies of the levels, or other interesting discoveries. That's definitely MUCH better than just random dudes chatting and screaming at each other when they found random things there. Random chats like that would not make good content. Everyone can write something like that. Even rookie roleplayers can write that easily. I AM a roleplayer but I have standard, and gosh dang, most roleplay here sucks. This is why when someone actually write a decent tale, we go ohh that's so amazing, because 90% of the users here doesn't know how to write a story.
If you want to add some ACTUAL lore to your page, without writing a whole page of tale, then check Level ALPHAOMEGA and all the poems added there, which are documented and discovered on many places across the Backrooms. Now that's an actual lore, instead just two dudes be like "omg entities here ahhh help me we're trapped" kind of cliche nonsense. I know that the Backrooms is (mostly) horror genre, but we have too many generic, mediocre things here.
That's all and thanks for coming to my TED talk.
