Hello everyone!
As you may have known, in the past months, the moderation team has been steadily working on setting up a greenlighting system. This means that before being allowed to post a page (be it a level, entity, tale, etc.), you first have to get it reviewed and critiqued by a Greenlighter. Some pages will not always make it past this stage, and may be too low-quality to be accepted. In this case, one should take the given criticism into account and rewrite the page according to the suggestions. It is advised to get multiple other opinions and critiques before going ahead and contacting a Greenlighter. To use this system, one must post their page sandbox as a wiki Blog Post (this can be found on the dropdown menu under "Explore"). Once the draft is finished, it must be sent to a Greenlighter, preferably on the wiki's Discord server. The Discuss section may also be used to alert Greenlighters to a page that needs checking, but the process will be much easier and faster if it is done on the Discord server.
Now, you may have some questions:
What is greenlighting? As stated, greenlighting is the process of withholding a page from being posted until it is reviewed to make sure it fits the wiki's quality standards. It is called greenlighting because it is a "go-ahead" to post a page.
Why is this system being put in place? This wiki has always been known as the lowest-quality wiki out of the main three (Fandom, Wikidot, and Liminal Archives) due to the stark lack of any quality control. We hope to change this reputation by actually preventing spam and low-quality pages.
How can I get my page greenlit?Following the directions above, one can get their page looked at and greenlit by first drafting it as a Blog Post, sending it for critique on the wiki's Discord server or in Discussions (preferably the former); then, once it has been looked at and critiqued by a few users, a Greenlighter can be pinged to take a final look at it. It is recommended to get critique from users first before pinging a Greenlighter to get a general idea of the page's quality; pinging them immediately before getting it checked by others will just waste their time. If your page is accepted, great! If more work is needed, they will give you critique as such.
What if people post pages without a greenlight? We have a live page watchlist that anyone can look at; pages that are greenlit will be listed in a channel on our Discord, and if a user or a mod spots a page that has been posted without being greenlit beforehand, it will be reported and the page will be moved to the user's Blog Posts. If a user repeatedly posts pages without getting them greenlit (referred to as coldposting), they may be blocked for a period of time.
This system will begin to go into effect some time tomorrow. Let me know of any questions you may have. This is a monumental feat for this wiki; I sincerely hope you enjoy our new era of quality.
