Frequently Asked Questions
Why am I unable to create pages or posts?
If you have just created your Fandom account, you’ll find that you are unable to post or create pages. Unfortunately, your account must be over four days old before you gain the rights to do so. If you have an idea you wish to write about, it is recommended you use this time to draft your page in Word, Notepad, or a user sandbox/blog page whilst you wait.
Why is X page different from the Wikidot version?
This wiki and the Wikidot do not follow the same canon; very few pages will be identical to their Wikidot counterpart, or even similar at all, aside from essential pages such as Level 0.
Which wiki is the official one?
There are multiple wikis and canons relating to the Backrooms, each being entirely different. None are specifically wrong or right. Each wiki has its own pros and cons, and wikis are chosen by personal preference. Neither wiki is the “official” Backrooms wiki. This one was created before the Wikidot and is the original; however, more sites accept the Wikidot as their official source of Backrooms information. In the end, it is up to your own headcanon.
Why did my page get deleted?
Our wiki is focused on cleanup, considering our primary demographic, so pages get deleted often; if you find that yours was deleted, check the reason for its deletion to see why. Odds are: the page was either poorly written, too short, or broke the rules in some way. The rules for page creation can be found here.
Why am I seeing multiple bad pages?
Under Fandom’s policy, pages can be created freely, leading to many rule-breaking pages slipping under the radar. If you come across a poorly written or rule-breaking page, it is encouraged to edit it and add the {{Delete}} template to it. To do this, simply go to INSERT → Template, then search for “Delete”. After this, provide a reason for the page’s deletion in the template. Doing this will allow mods to notice the page much more easily, and if it is decided that it is against the rules, it will be deleted within the span of a few hours. Pinging mods in comment sections or linking it to them in the Discord server may lead to a swifter deletion.
What's the difference between Safe and Secure?
A level's safety refers to the overall danger of the level. If one could be harmed by an entity in a certain level, it would be defined as "Unsafe". A level's security, on the other hand, means that a level is less well-mapped than others, has less information known about its overall layout, and that reality may be warped or altered within it.
