Description
Entity 84, also known as "Agony Swans", "Grimace Swans", or "Hell Swans", are a species of avian entity that inhabit mostly water based levels. Carnivorous entities, they kill and eat their prey with a second mouth located on their chest.
Behaviors
Agony Swans behave very similar to ordinary swans in the Frontrooms, albeit more aggressive. Agony Swans are dauntless and will attack anything that they perceive as a threat to them or their chicks, even if it is far larger than them. This has culminated in Agony Swans attacking entities, wanderers and even other swans very frequently. Agony Swan chicks are docile and mostly rely on their parents for protection until they mature enough to defend themselves (which usually takes 9 months).
When they feel threatened, Agony Swans will rear up, revealing their second mouth and hiss loudly. If this display fails to ward off the perceived aggressor, the swan will attack.
Agony Swans are mostly carnivorous, although they will eat vegetation if needed. They have also been spotted dabbling underwater to feed, similar to their Frontroom swan brethren. Agony Swans utilize their wings and their secondary mouth to take down their prey. do not be fooled by their size, they can cause large amounts of damage to humans and entities alike. Occasionally, Agony Swans hunt in groups to overpower prey easier.
Agony Swans are monogamous and nest near bodies of water, where they raise their chicks. Both parents play an active role in their children's lives. Children are fed pieces of meat and taught how to hunt prey to prepare them for their future. If the need arises, Agony Swans will leave their nest in search of other places to nest.
All attempts to tame Agony Swans have gone poorly.
Biology
Agony Swans resemble Cygnus Atratus, more commonly known as the Black Swan, albeit with a large mouth on its chest. The mouth bears semblance to the mouth of a human. The mouth is an integrated part of the entity's internal structure and does not cause any issue to the entity's health whatsoever. Traces of the secondary mouth begin developing in the very earliest stages of the Agony Swan's development.
Other than the entity's secondary mouth, neither adult nor child Agony Swans posses any abnormal physical features.
Discovery
Records of the discovery of Entity 84 date back to 1999 where a man was assaulted by one after wandering too close to its nest on an unidentified level. The man survived, but with severe injury.
Entity 84 received formal entity classification in 2000.
