Alliance of the New Regime

The Alliance of the New Regime, commonly known as the Alliance, was once part of the M.E.G. However, they rebelled against the M.E.G. because they did not embrace the group's leaders' policies and consequently formed their own organization. According to their beliefs, the true purpose of the Major Explorer Group is to prevent people from escaping the backrooms and to maintain control over those who are trapped there. Therefore, the Alliance's aim is to permanently end the domination of the Major Explorer Group and its allies over the backrooms. When the M.E.G.'s domination ends and collapses, the Alliance aims to seize all resources belonging to the M.E.G. and, with these resources, find a way to escape from the backrooms and rescue all humanity trapped there.

The exact number of personnel and resources that the Alliance possesses remains unclear; M.E.G. estimates that its current personnel count should be between 2,000 and 3,000. The Alliance's resources are also unknown. During the Alliance's raids against the Major Explorer Group, individuals who were not members of the Alliance but belonged to another group were observed. This observation discovered that the Alliance collaborates with other groups and sects opposed to the Major Explorer Group, occasionally receiving resources and personnel from them when necessary. All assistance from the Alliance's allies appears to be crucial for its raids and operations against Major Explorer Group.

History[]

The Alliance of the New Regime, established by rebels against the M.E.G.'s foreign policy and known as separatists within the Major Explorer Group, initially began by protesting against the foreign policy implemented by group leaders and spreading propaganda against them. According to their policy asserts that even with all its resources, the Major Explorer Group is not adequate for this task and endorses a militant view advocating for forcibly occupying other groups by M.E.G. and seizing all their resources.

Within the group, there were also personnel who did not embrace the separatist policy and supported the current policy. According to these personnel, the things advocated by the separatists were completely absurd. Supporters believed that the only way to escape from the backrooms was through collaboration with other groups, thus making it possible to escape from the backrooms.

Thus, the Major Explorer Group had split into two factions: on one side were the separatists who wanted their own policies implemented, and on the other side were supporters who embraced the policies implemented by group leaders and did not want them to change. While all this was happening, M.E.G. leaders held a meeting and decided to evaluate the situation by sending agents to both sides after the meeting concluded. Agents were thus dispatched to both sides for a situational analysis. Initially, M.E.G. leaders feared that this tension would lead to a civil war, but upon receiving the report from their agents, they were relieved. The report indicated that despite the ideological differences between the two sides, neither side was willing to engage in conflict or shed each other's blood.

Over time, the tension within the group began to diminish, even seeming to fade away. In response, group leaders breathed a sigh of relief and started focusing on their own policies again. However, what they didn't know was that all this tension had never truly ended. The separatists, after prolonged meetings, realized they couldn't defeat their supporters and group leaders the hard way, so they temporarily set aside their advocated policy and tried to give the impression that the tension had ended. Nevertheless, they began planning their rebellion in secret. After six years, in 1992, the separatists put their plans into action.

In early 1992, everything was normal at Base Gamma III, the outpost of the Major Explorer Group at Level 3. One team of explorers was conducting research there, documenting their findings. Another team was transferring resources discovered at Level 3 to Base Gamma III. "It was just an ordinary day in an ordinary year." Later in the day, around 7 o'clock, previously unheard noises began to echo through Base Gamma III. This perplexed the Major Explorer Group personnel stationed there. Managers at the base, unsure of the origin and source of these sounds, tasked a group of explorers to investigate and report back. The designated explorers were dispatched to search the base and locate the source of the noises. After nearly an hour, the explorers sent to report back started returning, but some were missing, and those who returned had a frightened look on their faces, indicating something had scared them.

Upon hearing this, the base managers questioned the explorers about why their numbers were depleted and demanded comprehensive reports on the nature of the source of the sounds. When they received the reports from the explorers, they were shocked; the reports indicated that the noises had come from a group of entities at the entrance of the base, and some explorers had been killed and consumed by these entities, explaining the missing numbers. In response, the base managers inquired about the types of entities present in this group. The explorers mentioned several entities: skin-stealers, hounds, and smilers. Upon learning all this, the base officials ordered all armed M.E.G. personnel at Base Gamma III to halt this entity invasion. However, the officials were perplexed because no base had ever experienced an entity invasion before.

Following the order of the base managers, all armed M.E.G. personnel were deployed to the entrance of Base Gamma III. After a long and bloody conflict, the M.E.G. personnel managed to halt the entity invasion. Upon receiving news that the invasion had ceased, and the entities had retreated, the base managers felt relieved, but their job was not yet done. They ordered the M.E.G. personnel to conduct personnel and resource checks within the base to assess the losses incurred during the invasion.

Upon reviewing the reports from the base inspections, they were shocked once again. The reports indicated that between 30 and 50 personnel were missing, along with equipment from several levels, weapons and ammunition, almond water, and some level keys. All these losses led the managers to speculate that the invasion might have been part of a rebellion. To determine whether this speculation was true, they tasked the explorers stationed at the base with searching all areas near the base entrance and investigating how the entities had entered the base.

During the investigation, flashlights were discovered near the areas close to the base entrance, suggesting that someone had used these flashlights to bring the entities into the base. Upon learning this, the base managers realized that their speculation was likely accurate. They immediately decided to contact the M.E.G. leadership and report the events to them.

The leadership of M.E.G. was greatly surprised by the news given to them. The separatists had shown no signs of rebellion before. Setting aside their astonishment, the leadership of M.E.G. immediately decided to hold a meeting. The meeting lasted for a few days, focusing constantly on how to reclaim the resources stolen by the separatists. However, before the leadership's meeting could conclude, the separatists had already formed a new organization called the Resistance and introduced themselves and their policies to other groups. This news did not surprise the leadership much because they had already anticipated that the separatists would form an organization to propagate their own policies. However, the fact that the separatists had formed their organization so early posed a major obstacle to their plans because now that the separatists were an official organization, M.E.G. would need to formally declare war on them to reclaim the stolen resources. This would greatly damage the group's image and raise suspicions about the group.

Not only M.E.G. but also other groups in the back rooms were surprised and confused by all of this. When the new organisation called the Resistance presented its policies to the public, other groups and sects that were against M.E.G. and harboured hatred towards them began to develop relationships with the Resistance. To these groups, the Resistance seemed like a useful pawn against M.E.G. Therefore, anti-M.E.G. groups and cults started forming alliances with the Resistance, providing them with resources and personnel. Due to all this support from alliances, the organisation took on its current name, Alliance of the New Regime.

After the alliance was officially formed, they consistently conducted propaganda and issued statements against the Major Explorer Group (M.E.G.), but they refrained from launching any armed attacks or raids against M.E.G. until 1996. The reasons for this restraint were believed to be twofold: firstly, the alliance lacked the capability to mount such attacks against M.E.G. at that time, and secondly, their initial focus was on influencing M.E.G.'s policies. However, as they came to realize that M.E.G.'s policies were unlikely to change, the alliance adjusted their stance and began advocating for the destruction of M.E.G. and its allies, viewing it as necessary for the salvation of humanity. It seems that only time will tell whether the alliance will achieve its goal.

Resources[]

The resources of the Alliance of New Regimes are limited. Initially, when they were known as The Resistance, the separatists used resources they had stolen from M.E.G. After forming alliances with other groups and thus establishing the New Regime alliance, they began utilizing resources provided by their allied groups. However, as the alliance continued to expand, these resources started to prove insufficient.

That's why they began exploring other levels using the level information and the few level keys they had. This allowed the alliance to start acquiring its own resources. However, the alliance's director and assistant directors, believing these resources were insufficient, decided to convene a meeting to discuss how to obtain more resources. By the end of the meeting, they had settled on the idea of attacking Major Explorer Group bases and seizing their resources. Thus, four years after their formation, in 1996, the alliance launched its first attack on the M.E.G. base, "The Crewmembers," and stole all the resources they could find there.

This action by the alliance further worsened M.E.G.'s perception of them. M.E.G. adopted a policy of labeling the alliance as an enemy and declaring that alliance members would be killed if seen at any level. Not only M.E.G., but also the Backrooms Investigation Foundation, reacted to this action by labeling alliance members as terrorist organizations.

there was a strong reaction from other backroom groups to this action against the Major Explorer Group, it also benefited the Alliance to some extent. This action increased support from anti-M.E.G. groups that had previously backed them. Furthermore, as a result of this action, the Aurielle Republic began providing resources to them, albeit secretly.

Management[]

The Alliance of New Regimes operates on a hierarchical system. At the top is the director, who makes all key decisions. Below the director are the assistant directors, who serve as the director's ambassadors, aiding in idea generation and policy decisions. They also function as inspectors to ensure compliance with the director's directives. Following the assistant directors are operatives, leaders who enforce the group's military policies.

There are various units in the alliance to ensure high work efficiency and prevent confusion and disorder. Each unit has a leader, and they may collaborate together at times.

Units within the Alliance:

Intelligence Unit:[]

The intelligence unit consists of personnel who infiltrate groups opposed to the alliance. They gather policies, information, or relevant files regarding the alliance and, when necessary, are tasked with destroying any files or information concerning the alliance within these opposing groups. Despite infiltrating many groups, all attempts to infiltrate the Backrooms Investigation Foundation have failed.

Operational Unit:[]

The operational unit is divided into two sections: the operational planning section and the operational section. Personnel in the operational planning section are tasked with planning when and how to conduct raids on targeted groups. Personnel in the operational section execute raids based on the plans formulated by the operational planning section. They are also responsible for exploring various levels and discovering new resources.

Resource Management Unit:[]

This unit is responsible for planning how acquired resources will be allocated and utilized. It oversees the use and storage of resources.

Development Unit:[]

This unit is responsible for training new members who join the alliance, evaluating their skills, and assigning them to various units.

Bases and Outposts[]

Alliance of New Regime exact number of bases and outposts is still unknown, but here are the alliance outposts and bases discovered and seized by MEG:

Base Delta-X:[]

Delta-X is located in Level 5, also known as the Terror Hotel. This medium-sized outpost purpose remains unclear. It is speculated that the alliance constructed it to test new members and exploit resources in Level 5.

Base Resource:[]

Base Resource is located in Level 11, also known as The Endless City. This large base was established by the alliance to extract resources from Level 11. The discovery of this base was a result of collaboration between MEG and the Backrooms Investigation Foundation. However, over the years, the alliance reclaimed and fortified this base even more securely.

Base Echo:[]

Base Echo is located in Level 17, also known as The Carrier. Base Echo is a medium-sized outpost believed to be used by the alliance as a storage facility. MEG discovered this outpost during an exploration mission to Level 17.
