The Amalgamation is a hostile entity in Maintenance themed levels
Classifications
Appearance
The Amalgamation is made up of multicolored tentacles. It is unclear if these tentacles are wires or not, as touching the entity can lead to death. What hides under the tentacles is also unknown, seen as they all cross over the center point, as if trying to hide the center. Autopsy has never been performed on one, as a dead one has never been found in the wild, and no one has managed to kill one.
Aggression
The Amalgamation has a range of different aggression levels, depending on how far away a wanderer is.
- Stage 1: The entity hasn't detected anyone yet; wanderer is 100m or more away.
- Stage 2: The entity has a suspicion you are near, one tentacle starts to pull it closer; wanderer is 50m away
- Stage 3: The entity can see you, all tentacles pull it to you; wanderer is 25m or less away.
- Stage 4: The entity has caught you, all tentacles pull you to it; wanderer is 5m or less away.
Habitat
The Amalgamation exists in multiple levels, though they are all maintenance related. The entity tends to linger where there is a lot of pipes or wires, so it has something to grab onto when it goes for the attack.
Methods of Attack
The Amalgamation wanders through levels, clinging onto pipes and wires to propel itself forward. Once it finds a wanderer, it will pull the wanderer towards it. Once the wanderer is within reach of the other tentacles, the entity usually chooses strangulation, though it can also play pull apart, put back together, and tear the wanderer into pieces, and mangle it in a similar manner to the Engraver.
Behavior
When the wanderer is 100 meters or more from the entity, they act in a passive manner, and roam the level until it finds a wanderer. It has hard feelings for smilers and facelings, however. The faceling is reasonable, as they look like wanderers, however the Smiler doesn't make much sense, as they don't look humanoid for the most point. Other than these examples, the Amalgamation is mostly docile.
