Description[]
The Auto Nexus Guarding and Collecting Group, commonly known as Auto Nexus, or A.N.G.C.G., is a relatively strong and socialist group in the Backrooms. The Auto Nexus' goal is to collect resources, spread its influence, weaken the M.E.G., protect their people and resources, and make anyone free. The Auto Nexus is infamous for torturing, abducting, and imprisoning traitors. The group seeks the freedom and liberty of its citizens and other citizens of other groups. The Auto Nexus mainly builds customized weapons, specifically firearms. Its most infamous firearms are the Light Rifle 102, the Auto Pistol, and the Nexusian Kolan. The Auto Nexus' presence in the Backrooms is ever-growing, and its peak was in 2018. It establishes new outposts yearly, with the planning, selecting of people, creation of local autonomous government, establishing of laws, and official opening taking a process of eleven months, the populating taking 27 days, and the remaining four days being the starting of businesses and commerce.
The symbolism of the Auto Nexus' flag is relatively complex. The three stars within the flag represent, individually, Level 986 as the left star, Level 275 as the smaller, central star, and Level 747 as the right star. The four red bars represent socialism, blood, war, and determination. The darkened background of the flag represents the Flicker and Achrophiline. On the center of the flag is the main emblem of the Auto Nexus, with blue gears, representing Level 275. Two pistons are seen behind the gears, representing the pieces dismantled to develop the customized firearms. On the smaller gear is a red, four-pointed star, representing the Ford Four.
The Auto Nexus is infamously known for creating many propaganda posters and scattering these posters around levels with the presence of groups the Auto Nexus has negative relations with, or levels with a general Auto Nexus presence. These propaganda posters seem to function very well, as many wanderers seem to walk to the nearest Auto Nexus outpost and ask to become members of the outpost. The Auto Nexus has a large production of propaganda, producing nine posters every thirty minutes in factories assigned to and specializing in the drawing, planning, and printing of propaganda posters. The Auto Nexus has created art and planning schools for interested citizens to learn how to properly draw and plan out a good message to encourage and give determination to possible new recruits.
History[]
The history of the Auto Nexus begins in 1964, when it was founded by the Ford Four, whose identities remain a secret. They are former M.E.G. soldiers who, after several differences with their superiors, exited the group and relocated to Level 275. Shortly after their relocation, they decided to fully commit to their beliefs in socialism and founded the Auto Nexus on Level 275 using their knowledge of the M.E.G. and other organizations' politics, economics, and other political areas needed to properly run an organization. Several months after the formation of the Auto Nexus, the organization had approximatelly thirty to fifty members. Contrary to their small amount of specialists, the group had developed custom-made rifles, pistols, and other machinery using fragments of the surrounding area of Level 275.
Several months after, the Auto Nexus entered its first conflict, with a neighboring group named "The Fire Children," due to political, and territorial disputes. The Fire Children were one of the strongest groups of the level, however, they were decaying, and members were leaving, albeit were still considered a threat by the Auto Nexus. In order to ensure their survival and legitimacy within Level 275, the Auto Nexus declared war to the Fire Children, another reason for it was to spread their ideas and gain more resources and members. After a myriad of battles, the Auto Nexus emerged victorious. The Fire Children suffered great losses and shortly disbanded thereafter. Meanwhile, the Auto Nexus suffered few casualties. This solidified their presence within Level 275, with this, the M.E.G. took notice. In 1975, the Auto Nexus contained roughly, 300 members, and the M.E.G. considered them a threat. The Auto Nexus also took notice and secretly started preparing defensive measures against the M.E.G. The M.E.G. launched an offensive to eliminate the organization. Although the Auto Nexus held more knowledge on the level than the M.E.G. had, after numerous attempts, the M.E.G. lost and the Auto Nexus won; however, it had slightly fewer casualties compared to the enemy. Some of the reasons of the Auto Nexus' victory were their customized firearms and advanced strategic ability.
The Auto Nexus group's members rapidly began complaining and reporting severe cases regarding Plastic Worms and large-scale infestations, causing more than 30,000 deaths around the Auto Nexus' colonies and outposts. After these events, the Auto Nexus declared full war on Plastic Worms, preparing their army to exterminate more than 70% of the species. The Auto Nexus sent guards, militarists, scientists, and researchers to capture instances of these entities; they would be sent to Plastic Worm coops, known as "Plaques," where they would be kept for months in a confined space. They would remain until the group decided what to do with these instances. Most Plastic Worms would be used in experiments or deported to levels isolated from human outposts. The instances murdered would be used as war food or food sold for a low price. Following the beginning of the Flicker, the Auto Nexus decided to end its Plastic Worm genocide, as the operation was becoming expensive and causing revolts for the entity's freedom. Ever since, the Auto Nexus has attempted to create peaceful and non-murderous ways to avoid and isolate Plastic Worms without causing genocides.
The Flicker[]
During the Flicker, the Auto Nexus desperately attempted to establish new outposts in order to have extra outposts on the case that Base Ford was destroyed. With this, outposts such as Base Volkswagen were established. The group developed light firearms, which temporarily liberate light into whatever the firearm is aiming at. The Auto Nexus had developed a myriad of other now-lost weaponry created specifically for the Flicker. After the Flicker, these firearms were destroyed, dismantled, or hidden across the Backrooms, with most of them not having any existing files proving their existence.
During the Flicker, the Auto Nexus and many other groups were in search of Achrophiline. This caused the groups, mainly the Auto Nexus, to attack other groups, invade and scavenge levels. The Auto Nexus specialized in selling Achrophiline in levels, creating a sub-company named "Achros Inc." While exploring Level 986, Auto Nexus explorers found shelves and wooden crates filled with Achrophiline. The Auto Nexus quickly established outposts in the area. The Auto Nexus then sold bottles of it within freezers to groups and became a relatively stronger group, then declined after the Flicker.
The Ford Four[]
The Ford Four, as aforementioned, are the brothers who formed the group; as of now, their identities remain a secret. Only five people know their true identities; the ones who know are presidents Dave Gaheb and Vladimin Naval, two others with very close ties to them, whose identities also remain a secret, and an unknown soldier within the Auto Nexus. The presidents have mentioned this soldier will lead the Auto Nexus after them. It is unknown why this soldier is going to be the upcoming leader of the group; it is most likely that she is a secret younger sister of the Ford Four. After traversing around Level 275, the four headed into a cave on the level. Where they found a teared room, they rebuilt it and used it as an administrative office. Within its computers were documents that helped the Ford Four understand socialism better. Days later, the Auto Nexus was founded.
Colonies and Outposts[]
Head Base "Ford" (Level 275)[]
Head Base "Ford" is the primary base and capital of the Auto Nexus. Home to more than 9,000 people, it is the heart of the Auto Nexus organization. The Ford Four founded the Auto Nexus on this region, and it expanded into what is now a secure, and prospering organization. After a number of conflicts, they are the only remaining organization in Level 275. They provide supplies to selected wanderers within this particular level, however, only if they pass an interview, or are deemed trustable. The standard number of items provided on the current year they will provide is fifteen bottles of Almond Water and ten cans of rice and beans. They formerly provided pistols and rifles on occasion, although they have since discontinued donating them in order to focus on their own security and for a stronger military. This is highly different compared to other levels, and it is rumored that the Almond Water they donate has a relatively odd taste, perhaps having chemicals and being expired. The two presidents Dave Gaheb and Vladimin Naval are located, in the Pyramid Room, after being appointed to the position by the Ford Four. The Ford Four's location is currently unknown; however, they all formerly seemed to share similar clothing, wearing each a dark blue three-piece suit, a black fedora, and walking with a cane with the numbers one to four on each cane. After their retirement, it is unknown if they still wear these clothes. It is most likely rumored that they are located surrounding Base Ford.
Base "Volkswagen" (Level 986)[]
Base Volkswagen is the only major outpost in Level 986 with a small population of 2000 people. The Auto Nexus uses cells within this level to imprison traitors, M.E.G. agents, etc. They have a unique method of manufacturing elements within this level to chemically develop a pill known as Rosa Kur to prevent wanderers and their agents from suffering from Pink Insanity. If a prisoner develops Pink Insanity, the Auto Nexus implies a variant of the drug for the prisoner. It mostly cures the prisoner but still leaves traces, enough to mildly harm them. In order to monopolize the "Rosa Kur" medicine, each pill harbors a unique microchip. The chip consists of a rudimentary detector that will identify DNA and fingerprints, if so do not belong to Auto Nexus members or related personnel in their database, it will explode.
Aerial Town (Level 385)[]
Aerial Town is located on the Rooftops of Level 385. The base is generally used as a farm for collecting nourishment and scavenging resources. Aerial Town is also used as a transit space between outposts. The explorers and the citizens of the outpost are responsible for searching for the theorized entities of Level 385, analyzing any possible piece of evidence, as the Auto Nexus sees interest in these entities. The people of Aerial Town will frequently search for one of the abandoned farms on the Rooftops, to both use it and collect the large plants within the areas.
Base "Chevrolet" (Level 416)[]
Base Chevrolet is is Level 416's most prominent and earliest known human occupation. The settlement spans a close collection of houses and a nearby deforested region where members harvest its rich wood supply. Unlike other Auto Nexus branches, residents are hospitable and generous, a tactic to improve reputation and recruit new members. An education facility indoctrinates Auto Nexus propaganda to help assimilate recruited members. Base Chevrolet boasts a steady population of 302 residents and trades with allies.
Joy (Level 387)[]
Joy is a rather medium-size occupation owned by Auto Nexus in the heart of Level 387. Joy was founded by minister Liam Manchester, with the objective of collecting Cloud Water. The Auto Nexus often uses Cloud Water to increase morale during battles and operations. Joy is very similar to Base Chevrolet in many ways; due to Level 387 being a safe haven, most of the money the Auto Nexus spent on the outpost is directed to education and HDI. To construct homes, the Auto Nexus takes the park attractions apart, and uses their metals and plastic to construct hard dwellings. Joy is one of the head research outposts around the Backrooms, having uncovered many of Level 387's secrets, like for example, the Outer Side.

Relations with Other Groups[]
M.E.G.[]
The Auto Nexus holds aggressive relations with the M.E.G. due to territorial and resource-related disputes. One of the main reasons for the Auto Nexus being formed is to oppose the M.E.G.; the founders of the Auto Nexus affirm that the group's mindless explorations are useless and that a group's goal should be to collect resources, dominate, and guard the group's riches. The Auto Nexus also dislikes the M.E.G. for its large dominance over the Backrooms. The Auto Nexus is infamous for torturing, abducting, and imprisoning M.E.G. agents.
Backrooms Colonists[]
The Auto Nexus and the Backrooms Colonists hold fairly friendly relations. During the Flicker, the Auto Nexus and Backrooms Colonists held aggressive relations, due to the hunt for Achrophiline, the Auto Nexus attacked many groups, and mainly the Backrooms Colonists. However, after the Flicker, the Auto Nexus decided to improve its relations with the Backrooms Colonists due to their growing relation with the M.E.G., which posed a major threat to the Auto Nexus. Trade is relatively common between the two sides, and co-operation between the two has been often for the last decade. However, in recent years, the relation between the two has been quite neutral, while it is not critical, trade and co-operation has been less often.
N.A.X.O.S.[]
N.A.X.O.S. is the Auto Nexus's most important ally. The two groups' relationship has grown better overtime, both groups have worked to improve their relations. As both of them have settlements on Level -34, they co-operate to built more infrastructure into their bases, trading wood and building larger homes. It has been publicly announced quite some times that the Auto Nexus and N.A.X.O.S. have signed an alliance treaty, as both groups recognize each other's importance and power.
Backrooms Red Cross[]
Relations between the two are fairly good. However, the Auto Nexus has been attempting to improve its relations with the Backrooms Red Cross. As the Auto Nexus lacks medical systems in most of its outposts, it recognizes the potential for an alliance with the Backrooms Red Cross. Ever since, the Auto Nexus has attempted to side with the Backrooms Red Cross on most occasions, even if it goes against their allies' desires. There has been talk of a possible official alliance between both the groups for a long time, however, this idea has become more possible in the latest years.
Backrooms Investigation Foundation[]
The Auto Nexus' relation with the B.I.F. are neutral. While the two have co-operated in previous operations, like the extermination of Plastic Worms, the Auto Nexus' ever-growing power has made it so they do not need the B.I.F. for large-scale investigations. The Auto Nexus does not trade or interact much with the B.I.F., and both groups normally do not aknowledge each other.
Hierarchy[]
The Auto Nexus has a diverse hierarchy, although the group attempts to make all classes have a high HDI. Its hierachy is separated between the leaders, ministers, militarists, researchers, explorers, and regular citizens. Militarists are generally treated better than researchers and explorers, as the Auto Nexus sees more interest in protecting current outposts than establishing new ones and creating new pieces of technology. Ministers are responsible for administering certain topics in the group. Currently, the Auto Nexus has ministers for nature preservation, military, freedom, equality, living quality, and food. The current two leaders of the Auto Nexus are Dave Gaheb and Vladimin Naval. The Auto Nexus has eighteen militarists, with two in each outpost. The armies of the Auto Nexus are constantly under the inspection of the militarists. The researchers of the group attempt to develop new weaponry and inventions for the group's protection. Explorers are frequently sent to levels of interest, where they will analyze the assigned level's properties, layout, objects, phenomena, entities, and other topics. The explorers will send messages over to the leaders on Level 275. After determining if the level is safe or not, they will return to the current base of the Auto Nexus and tell the outpost administrator if the level is secure or not. Explorers may also be assigned as merchants, who traverse around any assigned levels, searching for wanderers to attempt to sell products, such as Achrophiline. Merchants are given a piece of paper indicating dangers, properties, entities, phenomena, layout, and objects, along with entrances and exits, and present Auto Nexus outposts on the level. The regular citizens of the Auto Nexus are allowed to freely transit from one outpost to another. They can gain any occupation they wish, including the higher classes of the hierarchy; however, it may take a long amount of time. Regular citizens can gain many occupations other than higher classes, such as guards, policemen, shop owners, and others.
