What is a Canon?

The Backrooms is and always will be a mystery at large, despite the amount of documentation and research the wiki has. However, with the increasing numbers of theories, speculations eventually form into concrete beliefs. Each individual has their own interpretation of the Backrooms, thus determining what is canon, according to their opinion.

By default, the term "canons" would refer to the list of canons regarding the canonical status of levels. However, each wanderer may have their own headcanon, some even creating their own page for them. While we open ourselves and welcome everyone to contribute to the community, naturally, we only accept those that pass our standard of quality. As per the page rules, any pages that do not fulfill the necessary standard will either be improved or deleted. By following the same rule, only canons that pass our quality standards may be added to this page.

The canons are separated into two categories:

Exemplary Canons

These are high-quality canons that should be used as the standard example to follow for canon inspiration. They are what one may consider as the "OG" canons of the community, before the "verses" trend exploded and mass-produced all the new canons.

Standard Canons

Here are some canons, that albeit not exemplary, are still notable enough to be known by the community. Keep in mind that any canons on this category may be still incomplete, and might be improved in due time.

Anyone is allowed to insert their canons into this list, assuming it passes the quality standards.

Honorable Canons

These, while not being proper canons that take place in an alternate universe, are still unique interpretations of the Backrooms.

More will be added in the future; please assist in keeping this page updated.
