I have a horrid truth for you.
The M.E.G. say that there is a good reason that not many know about this entity. Regardless of whether or not I agree with that notion, I will share this information with you - gathered from any loose documents I could get my hands on. You must know what there is to know. To never trespass on his abode, to never worship his grand and terrible power and most importantly - to understand the insanity he brings.
He is not the kind to attack viciously, but rather the kind that lies in wait. He has never 'killed' in the traditional sense. As long as you are in his domain, you will be at his mercy. His gaze is piercing - you will never truly be safe from it, no matter how well you hide yourself. You might spot him out of the corner of your eye once or twice; you might get a look at his ghastly visage peering down at you through a gap in the ceiling. But that's already more than enough.
Fortunately, he usually only ever ventures to levels directly tied to his realm. But that's not necessarily a guideline. You may be wandering through a supposedly safe level and glimpse him at the end of a long hallway, only for him to disappear the moment you blink. Or you could spot him in the middle of a horde of entities pursuing you through the depths of the Backrooms. Behemoth is an unpredictable monster, one whose mind can never truly be comprehend by humans. An eldritch creature existing for centuries. A timeless beast, immortal. The one mystery we will never solve. He has been here long before us, and will be here long after we depart. His legacy is unending, inflicting many generations of minds with unparalleled madness.
Yet still, cults have risen and fallen to worship his madness. None could ever comprehend the scale of his wrath, but they still praise him with endless devotion. I could name ten of them right now if I really wanted to. Whether it was of their own volition, or another nasty trick up Behemoth's sleeve we may never know.
To be blunt with you - that's all I can say about him. Anything else he does is unknown as of now. But you may wonder, why is he being hidden? In the end, anyone who sees him suffers the same fate, so why hide the truth? I've inquired with many of my coworkers - and they all spout the same nonsense back at me. "It's to keep the public safe" is what they all say.
They keep telling me that my obsession with learning more about Behemoth will lead down a horrific rabbit-hole; that I'll be no better than the mad men they occasionally stumble across while exploring.
But now it's dawning on me. To be known is his greatest strength. To glimpse him is to stare into the eyes of madness. So isn't this what he wanted all along?
Isn't this what he wanted all along?
