Level-minus-37-7

Wave of Serenity
Lukewarm pool within a vast dazzling blue tile surrounded by an endlessly blue ocean. The tranquil wave swept across the quiet. There is nothing below them except for the awful deep spirits. The cloud is roaming across the ocean while the blue void shines light on it, covering everything in its path.

Even though it was so peaceful and calm, I still felt lonely as my heart is melting into the water in this calm twilight.”

Blue Horizon is an anomalous level of the Backrooms.

Lukewarm Poolroom

Description and Theory

Level-minus-37-1

Blue Horizon is a complex of pools inside interconnected corridors and rooms. The level appears to be a combination of many levels. Every level that has a pool seems appropriate to this level. It is said to be the point at which all levels across all pool levels merge into one another.

According to the theory, the reason for this folding is because the Backroom levels don't have a clear schedule. When these levels expand and eventually intersect, this level is created. Certain areas of these levels end up overlapping and existing inside one linked region when levels fold over one another to form entrances and exits.

Another possibility for this folding is that this level is the parent level and the other pool levels are its sub-levels, as this level appears to be the source of pool water and distributes it to all of these pool levels.

Construction

Level-minus-37-2

Each area of Blue Horizon pool was built using different materials, mostly pool tiles, but these tiles are different types depending on the location. It is widely known that pool tiles are always arranged accurately and occasionally in attractive patterns.

Certain areas may be made up of a variety of materials that have been merged into a pattern; typically, these different tiles are the same size to provide a distinct and appealing viewpoint.

Pools were typically constructed of pool tile, concrete, and, on rare occasions, other materials. Here is a list of the resources used to construct this level:

>Show Correlations
  • Level 699; tiles come in a variety of sizes and colors, but they have a unique feature that, when exposed to light, emits neon light in a rainbow of shades.
  • Level 67; Blue epoxy tiles are similar to blue ceramic tiles that don't reflect light. Therefore, they keep the light from getting any brighter. The majority of this tile's areas are dark.
  • Level 39; it is yet unknown what this substance is composed of, but it appears to be marble or some white rock. It can dampen noises such as splashing and water flowing, keeping certain areas completely silent.
  • Level 37; white ceramic tile, with the only deviation from this color being the blue-green hue of the water. Such tiles are eerily pristine in condition, all identical to one another, without a single hint of damage on their shiny surfaces.
  • Level -33; tiles come in a variety of sizes and colors, but they are extremely dry when not in direct contact with water. Wet markings will be immediately absorbed by the tile as they come into contact with it.
  • Level -33; concrete, which has many different shades of color.

There are a lot more material than this, however it is unclear where the source of these material originates. It's conceivable that there are still a lot of pool levels that are not discover and have folded into this level.

But in addition to the pool, these materials were also used to build the floor, walls, ceiling, pillars, and many other parts of the level structure since they give it a distinctive appearance.

Light Source

Level-minus-37-3

The primary light source at Blue Horizon is skylights, which can be seen in rooms without ceilings or rooms with windows that display the exterior of the structure. Since the sky is always luminous, there is no day/night cycle. The source of the sky light is unclear because there is no visible sun or other light source in the sky.

The direction of the light appears to change at random as time passes. It's not a particularly hot. When touched, it gives off a warm feeling. The sky is a variety of blue hues; while it is often light blue, it can occasionally turn blue, dark blue, purple, or appear to be a sunset.

There are additional light sources than the sky light, although they are less prevalent for unknown reasons. However, these light sources may often be located in gloomy places and occur in a variety of forms, as shown here;

>Show Correlations
  • Many pool levels; regular fluorescent lighting without sound.
  • Level 699; neon light can emit a range of neon color shades.
  • Level -33 (possibly more levels than that); window that appears to be white abyss on the other side and shines white light. Some windows, however, have another side that seems to be vantablack, which originates from Level 71.
  • Level 30, Level 67 (possibly more levels than that); areas being nearly completely devoid of light.
  • Level -33 (possibly more level than that); normal pool light that come to vary of size and form.

Some areas are completely devoid of any sources of light, which causes extreme darkness and makes the water murky. When people go through this area or even just gaze at it, they get uneasy and paranoid.

Lukewarm Water

Level-minus-37-4

Blue Horizon appears to have a special effect that makes all pool water lukewarm and removes all dangerous features. Additionally, it has been reported that some pool water contains unknown elements, pathogens, extremely low or high temperatures, and many other things that can be harmful to the wanderer. However, this level appears to protect the wanderer from these effects and mask these dangerous effects.

There are many vary of pool water, but most of them are normal pool water, Almond water. Other pool water that originated from many different level can be found here;

>Show Correlations
  • Level 699; soaking in the water will restore your sanity and make you feel relieved, it also makes a very relaxing noise that may make people feel anxiety-free and has the same effects as Almond Water when consumed.
  • Level 67; unknown liquid with unknown effects, which are currently being investigated.
  • Level 37, Level -33 ; water containing a combination of substances from those levels.
  • Level 37.1; water has a murky, deep green-blue tone that is accentuated by the leaded darkness.
  • Level 37; pool water contains traces of magnesium sulfate (Epsom salt). When this substance is inhaled into the body for an extended period of time, it naturally relaxes the body and muscles, relieving pain and discomfort. Additionally, traces of numerous other unidentified compounds were discovered in the water.
  • Level 30, Level 37 (possibly more levels than that); Hydrolitis Plague present in pools.
  • Level 30; several traces of mercury, lead, and cadmium were discovered in the pool water, forming from Orcus and Sedna areas.
  • Level -33; pool water with compound that keep the water clear at all times; the brightness will make the water more lukewarm. Level -33 compounds produce chlorine, which allows wanderers to hold their breath for extended periods of time.

Some pool water contain unknown liquids with unique and special properties; some are dangerous, some are safe, and some are unknown. There are also pool water such as Cashew Water, Liquid Pain, and more. It is believed that there are pool levels that contain these liquids, as the majority of levels have yet to be discovered. The effect will start working if you remove these liquids from this level.

Decorative Items/Furniture

Level-minus-37-5

Blue Horizon is largely empty, but there may be furniture and decorative items in some areas, as these are beautiful and peaceful, which makes wanderers feel at ease when they stay there.

Decorative items and furniture are quite common in areas where there is no water or in pools that are very shallow. Some decorative items and furniture are intended for use in or near the pool.

Here is a list of furniture and decorative items:

>Show Correlations
  • Many pool levels; vending machine that provides a large selection of goods and products.
  • Many pool levels; pool railing that occasionally does nothing.
  • Level 71; slides with varying sizes and colors. It has the capacity to extend to extremely great lengths and produce intricate features.
  • Level 67; pipe dispenses pool water in the form of a fountain.
  • Level -33; sun loungers that placed in the vacant space.
  • Level -33; redundant neon exit signs that serve no other purpose.
  • Level 30; occasional areas with restaurant-like environment: plastic tables, chairs, bars, etc.
  • Level -33; decorative plants that can be placed around the pool and include bushes, coconut trees, and others.

Other furniture that isn't on the list can be located here as it is known to originate from the level that still not discovered.

Architecture/Layout

Level-minus-37-6

The architecture and layout of Blue Horizon are entirely random because it combines multiple pool levels. Non-Euclidean space will never be used for the layout. However, because the area appears to be expanding with fewer dead ends, getting lost in this level is relatively uncommon.

The entirety of Level's layout and architecture are highly strict and pristine in nature, keeping a shred of order despite its chaos; all locations in the level relate to each other in a nonsensical manner, with none having an easily-identifiable function. Although it might be challenging to determine each area's intended use, they are all far too vast to effectively fulfill the function of a pool; in certain cases, a pool even stops functioning as such.

Climbing out of the structure is possible in some cases, since it will bring the wanderer to an outside structure that may be wandering above the structure, making navigation easier.

>Show Correlations
  • Level 188.8; similar to Level 188, this room resembles an enclosed building that has been flooded with lukewarm water. There are windows placed on the wall in a pattern, and these windows lead to an empty tile room.
  • Level 67 and Level 39; underground tunnels that are similar to a sewage system. The tunnel is lengthy and claustrophobic, and it often floods with warm water.
  • Level 37.1; small, partially submerged tunnels that must be crawled or swam through in order to pass through, some areas barely have enough water to be considered pools, while others are overly submerged and appear to have completely flooded. The structure changes quickly and haphazardly, creating a twisted space.
  • Level 37; pillars rise out of the water and there are much too many of them to be justified; There aren't many ledges in open ocean for people to climb upon; Stairways go right down into deep pits of water, and light is thrown at odd angles, leaving some regions totally in the dark.
  • Level 30; wave machines found rarely within the pools.
  • Level 30; non-Euclidean layout of the Haumea area, present in several hotel hallways.
  • Level 30; rare rooms containing several saunas, imitating the environment of the Makemake area.
  • Level 30; some passages being greatly decorated in sea-like theme.
  • Level -33; rooms with furnishings like those at a hotel, some of which may have separate rooms with another pool, a conventional bedroom, storage, etc.

Some of the architecture and layout are unusual and strange. Once more, it is known to originate from a level that is yet unknown.

Endless Ocean

Description

Level-minus-37

The ocean, which seems to stretch into eternity, is another area of Blue Horizon. The water will always be lukewarm and still be clean due to the level impact. The ocean is always illuminated by sunshine from the clear sky above, which extends far below the surface of the sea. Some of the water will evaporate, leaving behind many clouds that will move in all directions.

The ocean's atmosphere is extremely cold because the sky constantly sends down cold breezes that cool the lukewarm air. The breeze makes each area's temperature unpredictable, some areas are cold and others are extremely cold. The poolroom section area becomes cold as a result of the cold air. Ocean temperatures range from a comfortable 20 to 10 degrees Celsius to a cold 0 or even negative. The air may make the waves so powerful that it seems like there is a storm in progress. Even still, the calm of the lukewarm water flowing still permeates the area.

Level-minus-37-8

The ocean appears to be blocked by a wall since each area has its own water. Different pool water was used in each location, and the water originated from many levels, just like in the poolroom section. The tiles on the walls will vary in size and color. On the walls, there is furniture and much else. Sometimes a platform or pathway may arise on an area of the ocean, along with furniture and other items like a bedroom, bathroom, indoor pool, and more.

The ocean's depth varies, but it's often quite deep—up to a kilometer deep or more. Shallow oceans can be discovered, although they are quite rare. The pool's bottom is made of tiles with many water drains. Investigating further, we discovered that the drains are used to transfer pool water to other levels containing pools. As to whether this level are the source of the pool's water. Since the level didn't depict how pool water is produced, it is still a mystery; we are now investigating and researching on this and other related topics.
