The C24N Seborna, or simply Seborna, is a family of eight-wheeled armored fighting vehicles designed to accomplish a number of different operations throughout the different environments of the Backrooms. The producers of the Seborna have remained mostly the same since the vehicle's inception, with Leemat Vistems Terrestri on the Auriellen side and Colonist Land Dynamics on the Backroom Colonist side; recently Yùl Fěpēng has been authorized to produce the vehicle for the Duchy of Cascada. The Seborna entered service in 2011, although wide fielding and exports by the military began in 2013.

A distinctive feature of the Seborna is its composition of a drive module and interchangeable mission modules, which allow several configurations to meet different operational requirements. The drive module is available in four different configurations: MS-0, MS-1, MS-2, and MS-3. These configuration changes are based on improvements emerging primarily from the Korthie Casiagen War, and modifications required. The main changes are in protection levels (increased), uprated suspension to account for a weight increase, and the power pack.

The Seborna is the second most produced AFV, only behind the M.E.G. APC-10. Confirmed Seborna customers as of April 2025 are Aurielle, Backroom Colonists, Cascada, Arva, AEG, and others; the Garden of Ncipetheraz owns blueprints of the Seborna.

Development history[]

The Seborna was conceptualized as early as 1985 by Leemat Vistems Terrestri following the conclusion of the Antlian Revolution. The vehicle's goal was to bolster offensive capabilities and allow the rapid deployment of forces; however, the concept was shelved due to inadequate funding or interest by the sitting government and ultimately was canceled.

By the beginning of Sebastian Solti's administration, with his modernization of the armed forces, the reformed Federal Assembly of Defense announced its intention to revitalize the project. In 1986, LVT embarked on the Noviscu Veclam Armereus Project[1] and a set of detailed specifications for the vehicle was subsequently released; four models were submitted, the VAC-1, VAC-2, VAC-3, and VAC-4, although only four prototypes, based on the VAC-2 and VAC-4, were built. In March, the prototypes saw combat testing, in spite of not having completed other trials, during the Netter Linsho War, where multiple issues, such as the prototype's inability to operate in a variety of terrain, led to further developments being paused. Development resumed in 1989 but was cancelled once again due to the Lustruger Crescen War and subsequent MEG occupation of Aurielle.

In 2004, the Federal Assembly of Defense, Auriellen Security Council, and Congress identified a gap in the need for a reliable mode of transportation that had the capability to protect mounted troops and defend itself; Congress then accepted the development of a design project and a retroactive procurement of the selected design to replace the arsenal of captured APC-10s and the outdated PC3s. The FAD began the Veclam Samphar Armereus Prolejum[2] program. The mandate of the VSAP project was to provide a series of vehicles using common modules projected to be within the MLC80 range, having a set of ten seats, and protection to withstand most common forms of ammunition, shrapnel from artillery, and the lowest caliber armor-piercing ammunition.

Participating in the program were three teams: Leemat Vistems Terrestri and Colonist Land Dynamics, Servon Dynamics, and Vacedum and Sic Posen, each following different doctrines. The LVT-CLD team utilized the original Seborna as a basis for the project; however, per VSAP specifications, the drive and mission module were separated for rapid reconfiguration, additional protection was added, and issues demonstrated in prior years, such as the inability to operate in a variety of terrains, were addressed. The Seborna, then known as the VT, was pitched against the others as the prototypes were unveiled. Ultimately, the LVT-CLD team won; low-rate initial production (LRIP) of Sebornas was scheduled for January 2009 but was delayed, during which an improved configuration, the MS-1, was developed.

The first Auriellen Seborna order was made in late 2009 as part of LRIP efforts, covering 30 Sebornas, ten of which utilized the MS-1; after a few months of delivery, all Sebornas were subsequently upgraded to use the MS-1 due to overall better combat perfomance.

In May 2013, full-rate production of the Seborna officially began, and in August, a million-Nolic production contract was placed by the Backroom Colonists for the supply of 21 Sebornas; deliveries ran in 2014. A license was acquired from LVT by the Backroom Colonists to begin domestic production of the Seborna later on. Also during 2014, from experiences in operations during the Korthie Casiagen War, the MS-2 was developed, which incorporated changes in both the drive and mission modules that include changes to the stowage concept in both modules, changes to the gearbox, integration of a fire suppression system, and others. The C24N9SEP Mobile Armored Platform and C24N5 Luna Seborna witnessed early conceptualization.

In July 2015, Aurielle ordered a second batch covering 68 Sebornas of different classes, including the C24N9SEP. In September of the same year, it was announced that Cascada and Ncipetheraz expressed interest in the purchase of Sebornas; the latter only purchased the blueprints of the export variant due to traditional doctrine, while Cascada purchased 20 Sebornas.

Ordering of Sebornas generally slowed in 2016, especially during The Flicker. The MS-3 configuration was released in June 2016, and it was announced that the Auriellen Armed Force's MS-2 Seborna fleet would be upgraded to MS-3 standard. The first C24N5 Luna Seborna was delivered in October 2016; alongside this came the gifting of 14 old Seborna vehicles to the Republic of Arva, delivered in 2017.

Near and at the end of the Korthie Casiagen War, due to the effectiveness of the Seborna, the demand for the vehicle expanded significantly. In 2019, 14 C24N5 Luna Sebronas were delivered to Aurielle. Domestic production rights were also given to Cascada, with the defense company Yùl Fěpēng being placed in responsibility for the production of the Seborna; 32 vehicles were subsequently ordered.

In 2020, an order of 43 Sebornas was placed by Aurielle and then delivered in 2022, and Antlia and Sirilis both ordered 20 Sebornas each. Ncipetheraz is set to modernize and expand its fleet of 14 Sebornas by changing them to the MS-3 standard and producing 30 more Sebornas.

Design[]

The Seborna is an eight-wheeled multirole vehicle which consist of two key elements: the platform/drive-line (the drive module) and the removable mission module.

Drive module[]

The drive module is also known as the platform or the driveline module. It consists of the hull mounting the drive axles and is enclosed over the frontal arc where the power pack and driver are located. The MS (Module Shift) iterations applied to the Seborna are specific to the drive module. Initial production was the MS-0, followed by the MS-1 in 2009. Current production standards, depending on the user, are MS-2 and MS-3. The drive module locates the driver front right (right-hand drive), with the power pack to the left.

Mission module[]

The mission module contains the mission-specific elements, such as weapons, equipment, or crew. Mission modules are interchangeable pod-like units that are fitted to drive modules to form a complete mission variant vehicle. Mission modules are attached by four points and can be swapped within an hour under field conditions. The driver can access their compartment through the mission module or, in an emergency, via the large single-piece power-operated hatch above this position.

Armament[]

In service, Sebornas are fitted with a variety of armament ranging from a 7.62 mm light machine gun in a remote weapon station to a 20 mm cannon in a turret, although the most common employed armament option is a .50 M2 machine gun or a 40 mm Mk 19 grenade launcher. Numerous other armament options are offered, and these include mortars, a 105mm main gun, and a 155mm howitzer.

Most in-service Sebornas are equipped with a remote weapon station for self-defense; most commonly the Vondel RWS from Onacer fitted with a 12.7mm M2 machine gun. Ncipetherazi are usually fitted with the NMC-08 from the Ncipetherazi Manufacturing Collective fitted with a 7.62 mm. And Cascadan vehicles are usually fitted with the Zeng Y-151 from Piqenq Cáisōshia, fitted with a 12.7mm M3M HMG. Some in-service Sebornas are equipped with TOD/TOWs for engaging fortified positions or armored targets. In 2017, 55 Sebornas began fielding with a VRWS adapted to be able to fit an H66-A Datorean tube, allowing the vehicle to fire the weapon instead of needing dismounted troops to use it.

20mm Cannon and 105mm main gun[]

While the Seborna's RWS is enough for a variety of combat situations, and the Mobile Armored Platform gives brigades heavy firepower, the baseline infantry carrier vehicle has a light armament. While not obliged by Congress, the FAD expressed interest in the acquisition of such equipment with its aim to assist the MBT in the frontline combat role or replace it. By 2014, early conceptualization of the C24N5 Luna Seborna began, alongside the Mobile Armored Platform, and an order was allowed by Congress, delivered in 2015.

The primary armament of the C24N5 is the LVLD 20mm TC 30-10, which has a rate of fire of around 200 rounds per minute and an effective range of 3,000 m. The LVLD 20mm TC 30-10 is an autocannon based on the Anzio 20mm Anti-Material Rifle, acquired from Level 73. It is fed through two belts holding armor-piercing and high explosive, the latter of which was made by filling a compartment with bits of Firesalt. A gear powered by the gas system pushes the next round into the chamber, and a belt-feeding system was also added. For cooling, a barrel shroud with ventilation holes around it was installed, with recoil being addressed by the implementation of a muzzle brake and the installation of a spring-damped mount. A thicker, heavy-duty barrel was also added. The first upgraded Seborna, designated C24N5US "Luna Seborna," was delivered in October 2016.

The development of the Mobile Armored Platform aligned with the development of the C24N5. The System mainly invested in the creation of the vehicle and retroactively placed an order for the MAP; it would use a similar chassis to the C24N5. Rights were given by the System Offensive Mechanics to utilize the Ocelot 1A-2N turret as a basis for the MAP's turret; modifications to it, mainly focused on decreasing the weight and size, were mainly undertaken by LVT.

The MAP's main armament is a SA2 105mm cannon with a fume extractor and an autoloader. The vehicle is primarily outfitted to support infantry combat operations and as a tank destroyer. While it could take on some of the roles of a tank, it is not primarily intended or designed to engage in face-to-face combat with main battle tanks; it includes 2 7.92 modified MG-34/42 machine guns as secondary armament.

Protection[]

The Seborna is constructed from a layered armored design consisting of a configuration of an outer layer comprised of various composite materials, a middle layer of aluminum alloys and stainless steel, and an inner layer made from fiberglass taken and made into a spall liner to which the HASH-B module-based appliqué armor kit can be fitted as required by mission threat estimates. Exact details of Seborna protection levels have now been classified. It has previously been stated that Seborna's baseline armor is all-round resistant to 14.5 mm armor-piercing ammunition and that the Luna Seborna and MAP variants have additional armor. V-hulls have been observed to be included in the Seborna.

In addition to the integral layered armor and the HASH-B module-based appliqué armor kit, optional packages have been developed. Which includes slat armor.

Mobility[]

The powerpack of the Seborna consists of a TFT N2S8 TA23 water-cooled diesel engine developing 720 hp and coupled to a fully automatic transmission with seven forward and three reverse gears. The TFT N2S8 TA23 engine is a militarized development of a truck engine, modified by TFT to produce increased power. To maintain mobility levels at increased weights, the N2S8 TA23 is available, developing either 711 hp or 805 hp; the latter is used mainly for the C24N5 and C24N9 and accepts both fossil and biofuels. Aside from that, much of the information regarding the N2S8 TA23 is kept secret.

The Seborna has full-time 8×8 drive. Some criticism has emerged due to their usage, mainly due to the decades-long debate concerning whether tracked or wheeled vehicles are more effective. Congress and FAD selected tires over tires due to their significantly easier gathering and maintenance process. The Seborna's tires are 400/80R Alumdeus MML on most Sebornas. Cascadan Sebornas are fitted with 415/80R 32 Alumdeus CMML.

Command, Control, and Targeting[]

The Seborna uses an extensive set of computers to do many of its functions; however, manual controlling is available if they are disabled. The driver and vehicle commander have periscopes that allow them to see outside the vehicle without exposing themselves to outside dangers; the gunner uses the camera of the VRWS. The vehicle commander has an almost 360-degree field of vision. The vehicle commander and gunner have access to a day-night thermal imaging camera; the camera used by the vehicle commander allows them to see what the driver sees, while the gunner's is on the turret. On the Luna Seborna, this system is replaced with the Atermus Univis Crurot et Vecla Batalius Aspesum (UCVBA), which has a daytime optical and thermal imaging system and image intensification.

Construction[]

Level 618 is where Sebornas are mainly constructed, welded, maintained, and repaired. Domestic production in Cascada and Ncipetheraz is kept at their respective levels; the assembly line is located in Sinyong for Cascada, and Vizhukwobwa for Ncipetheraz. The cameras used for command, control, and targeting are made from the eyes of Counter Entities.

The materials utilized for the layered armored design are gathered from Level 15 and Level 166.

Variants[]

As of January 2025, LVT had outlined 13 mission module configurations for the Seborna. LVT can, in some instances, define the same mission module function as separate mission module types/configurations, one example of several such instances being Ambulance modules which are currently designated Ambulance A and Ambulance B.

Vecla di Eperse di Corsi[]

The armored personnel carrier (APC)/Vecla di Eperse di Corsi (VEC) variant can be considered a baseline configuration for the Seborna, which provides protected transport for three crew and a ten-man infantry unit.

Vecla Sinos Regiomo[]

The command post variants of the Seborna are used for command and control in theater, acting as a center for tactical communications. Secured communication, displays for situational awareness, and instruments for network-enabled warfare are key characteristics of this variant. There are currently three designated VSR configurations, ranging from A to C. In standard configuration, the command post module offers room for four workstations; it is armed with a 7.92 MG-3 machine gun.

Mortar Carrier[]

Armed with a mortar system, the model depends on the user, though it usually is the Solerne 120 mm and the Versjo recoil mortar system (RMS). This version provides indirect fire support to fellow infantry with screening obscurants, suppressive forces, and on-call supporting fires. Vehicles at the battalion level also carry the 80 mm mortar for dismounted use, while company mortar vehicles carry the 60 mm mortar.

Ambulance[]

The ambulance, or Medical Evacuation Vehicle, is used as the en route care platform, providing treatment for serious wounds and advanced traumas. It has a raised roofline, and it can accommodate seven casualties that are seated or three lying down on stretchers. This vehicle has been used for both non-military (such as humanitarian assistance) and military purposes.

Reconnaisance[]

The reconnaissance vehicles of the Seborna are used by RSTA squadrons and battalion scouts to perform reconnaissance and surveillance operations, moving throughout the battlefield to gather and transmit real-time intelligence/surveillance for situational awareness.

Repair and Recovery[]

The Repair and Recovery are separate mission modules. The repair variant will be fitted with a crane, the recovery variant a winch.

Multi-Purpose Guided Missile Vehicle[]

The MPGMV Seborna is a missile vehicle armed with a TOW and TOD missile to reinforce the brigade's infantry and reconnaissance, providing long-range anti-tank fire against armor beyond tank gun effective range. Vehicle commanders independently locate secondary targets while the gunner is engaging the primary. After ready rounds are fired, crewman will need to rearm the launcher.

Polim di Deus 155mm (PDD 155)[]

The Seborna Polim di Deus 155mm mounts a version of the SD-M109 Artillery Module (AM).

HAV vehicle Hazardous Assesment Vehicle of a chemical company in Fort Vaternum

Hazardous Assesment Vehicle[]

This vehicle is used to assess any nuclear, biological, or chemical threat. It has a designated station for carrying samples of said threats, and it possesses an air filtration unit taken from Level 15 with an onboard integrated NBC sensor suite and integrated meteorological system.

Luna Seborna[]

Luna Seborna is the Auriellen designation for Sebornas fitted with the SC07 Turret with the LVLD 20mm TC 30-10 autocannon. It is referred to the IFV configuration. Aurielle has received 15 Luna Sebornas.

Mobile Armored Platform[]

Turreted tank destroyer equipped with a 105mm SA2 smoothbore gun and two 7.92 modified MG-34/42 machine guns. The main gun provides direct fire in support of infantry, engaging stationary and mobile enemy targets, such as bunkers or armored vehicles. It features a modified Ocelot 1A-2N turret.

Service History[]

2013: Korthie Casiagen War[]

The first use of the Seborna was by Auriellen forces in the Korthie Casiagen War. The Seborna first saw combat in the conflict when the Auriellen Ground Forces Sebornas from the newly organized 1st Combined Arms Brigade (Brigadero di Armentlos Combinetos; BAC, CAB) were deployed in July 2013 and saw heavy combat during Operation Coran Aposperi. During the first weeks of July, the 1st BAC was deployed as part of force relief efforts in the Battle of Mira in the Pareco District. Having been heavily outnumbered by MEG forces, the Auriellen and Aurigans employed mortars and, in particular, the Seborna and Ocelot 1, to suppress the attack.

Dropper 1st BAC, Battle of Mira

With the arrival of the second batch, different Seborna variants entered the frontline and significantly boosted Aurielle's firepower. The Seborna and its variants were used extensively on all fronts, seeing service with the Ocelot 1 and other vehicles. In September 2015, Backrooms Today reported that UKOPCOM knocked out the first Seborna; it had been hit by a roadside mine. The people onboard apparently bailed out of the damaged vehicle. On 2016, five more Sebornas had suffered battle damage, and one was damaged and captured, but no Auriellen crew members or embarked infantry had been killed. By the end of the conflict, 20 Sebornas had been visually lost 9 destroyed, 8 damaged or abandoned and 3 captured.

The Luna Seborna was sent to the front lines and was assigned to the 2nd CAB; in 2018 it was hit by a roadside IED but managed to protect the crew and passengers from personal injury and be repaired. The rest of the Luna Sebornas that were delivered in 2019 witnessed little combat.

2018: Ruphis-Ncipetheraz War[]

Starting on 2020, 24 Sebornas were deployed by the AGF as part of the 79-Force.

2020: Mordillan Civil War[]

As part of Operation Resolutio Mordeleus, the 22nd and 15th Mechanized Infantry Battalions of the 1st BAC were deployed to Mordillo. Both battalions served a three-week tour. Later on, the vehicles of the 3rd Mechanized Infantry Battalion were sent to Catalejos and were used for patrols, protecting checkpoints and bases, as well as part of the show of force. On 13 April, five members of the Santa Corona military started firing at one of the checkpoints in Catalejos; three were killed by returning fire, one successfully detonated their explosive belt, damaging a Seborna, and the other ran away. Sebornas were present in the checkpoint during the Catalejos Incident.

The Seborna then was deployed by Aurielle, Antlia, and Sirilis as part of the VSESA Military Response Contingent intervention in the Mordillan Civil War. Luna Sebornas and PDD 155s participated in the shelling of the LSC Parliamentary Building.

2020: Cascadan Conflict[]

Cascada operates 54 Sebornas. Initially using other vehicles for transportation, in May Cascada deployed a number of Sebornas to respond to the AEG invasion. No Sebornas were lost during the entire duration of the war, but many were damaged by anti-tank missile systems. During combat in Sinyong, the Seborna and its variants, specifically the Luna Seborna, showed exceptional work in combatting the APC-10.
