Entity Hazard: Variable
Entity Number: 336
Habitat: Many
Description: Consumption Engines range in size, shape, and composition. Shared characteristics include a metal body and a giant spiked roll-crusher for a mouth. Other possible appendages include, but are not limited to, mechanical arms and legs, tank treads, electric saws, blowtorches, drills, hammers of all sizes, and a wide range of mechanical eyes scattered throughout the body. Outside of Level 773 where they originate, Consumption Engines are extremely rare and are usually found broken down throughout the backrooms.
Behavior: Consumption Engines wander the backrooms shoving any physical matter it can find into its mouth to be crushed. It does not stop doing this even if its surroundings or what it is attempting to consume is actively destroying it. They have been seen eating wood, metal, humans, other entities, plastic, electric wiring emitting enough voltage to melt its body, lava, water, glass, and even willingly consuming a primed grenade. Any material that enters their maw is deleted, enabling them to consume material endlessly. They carve holes into whatever level they find themselves in until they are destroyed.
Biology: Any material that enters their maw is deleted, enabling them to consume material endlessly. Their randomized traits can also lead to some being more dangerous than others. There was one report by a MEG exploration team on Level 773 stating that they observed a Consumption Engine using a grenade launcher attachment to loosen material to eat. If forced into a confrontation with a Consumption Engine a normal person wont find much luck destroying it without explosives as its body is usually very durable. In the majority of cases, however, the engine either destroys itself or is easily avoided.
