Corrosive Soap is a substance found on a number of Aquatic Levels of the Backrooms. This substance resembles ordinary soap bubbles of the Frontrooms, but will be encountered roaming through these levels in massive heaps that take up entire rooms and corridors, and is considered incredibly hazardous and predatory.
Description
Corrosive Soap has been described as piles of highly reflective, multicolored bubbles which will wander aimlessly throughout aquatic levels, leading some to believe that these heaps are actually part of a sentient, predatory entity. Instances of Corrosive Soap have been known to range between 400 and 500 square feet in size and 6 feet in height, though instances are large as 2,500 square feet have been reported.
Touching Corrosive Soap is not recommended, as doing so will result in part of your mind being absorbed by the bubbles. Additionally, you will lose your sense of touch on the area of contact for a brief period of time after touching it, which can range between 10-30 minutes. Immersing your head in the soap will result in the complete absorption of your mind, and total loss of brain function. Once absorbed, your mind cannot be released from the Corrosive Soap by any known means, and seems to become part of the collective mind of the soap.
Corrosive Soap has demonstrated the ability to lure wanderers into its embrace through the usage of images projected onto it's reflective surface, and by calling out to individuals with a distorted voice that seems to emanate from someplace underwater. It is hypothesized that Corrosive Soap has some level of mind reading, as it will reflect images that are specifically designed to entice individual Wanderers to walk into it. It creates these images using the wanderers' preconceived desires for spiritual fulfillment and enlightenment. Wanderer's will commonly describe these reflections as images of heaven, with their loved ones and relatives waiting for them on the other side, though other images have been reported depending on the faith or spiritual beliefs of the Wanderer.
