Description

Counter Entities are aggressive metallic humanoids whose purpose is to hunt down and exterminate entities, they often work in groups and sport the uniforms and gear of counter-terrorism agencies. The entities are aggressive and can be provoked easily which has led to many incidents involving them. However, the Counter Entities wearing military gear and uniforms are much more aggressive and violent and will attack random wanderers on rare occasions, which has led to common confrontations with them.

Counter Entities are also sentient and are capable of speech, the entities also seem to have slightly above average IQ, however, when combatting an entity or hostile wanderer they are almost "lifeless" when fighting them, having no mercy toward any of the parties involved. However, if a friendly or neutral wanderer is in danger of getting attacked by an entity, the Counter Entities will protect the wanderer almost no matter what, although the Counter Entities seem to go back to ignoring the wanderer once the threat is resolved.

Level 11 Effects on Counter Entities

On Level 11, Counter Entities do not appear as counterterrorist gear or military gear, instead, they take the form of police officers, mostly in LAPD or NYPD police outfits and gear. To note, in this level, they behave in a neutral manner rather than outright aggression. They also have the effect in which they will protect Facelings and Humans alike, and when they are in danger, they will attempt to stop the threat. They use Pistols and Shotguns. Counter Entities have been seen operating police vehicles and helicopters.

Level 229 Effects on Counter Entities

On Level 229, Counter Entities will always have the effect of being military instead of counterterrorist, however, another thing to note is that they will have heightened intelligence and slightly increased strength. Counter Entities are also hostile on sight and will attempt to kill any human or entity they see.

Variations

Military Counter Entities

Military counter entities are versions of Counter Entities that wear military uniforms and use military equipment. They have more metal in their skin that has been confirmed to be titanium after a test by the M.E.G. The Military Counter Entities are more heavily armed sporting military equipment and uniforms. They go in groups of 6-20 and have higher intelligence than normal Counter Entities and Increased reflexes. However, the Military Counter Entities are also known for increased aggressiveness, leading to confrontations with survivors.

Military Counter Entities' eyes glow a distinct green during the night or low light, instead of blue like the counter entities. Their organs also seem to be increasingly metallic and robotic, with less human tissue and increased concrete along with the addition of metal.

Biology

Counter Entities' skin seems to be a mix of human skin tissue and metal, their organs are composed of human tissue and concrete, the creature's blood also seems to be an unidentified black liquid. Counter Entities eyes seem to be metallic and inorganic, the brain is also metallic-like and computer parts have been discovered in it, hinting that Counter Entities may be robotic in a way. Their bones have been revealed to be metallic and harder to break than human bones.

Counter Entities have a way of tracking entities and humans, it's unknown how they do this, but it's theorized that it's pheromones or a tracking device.

Experimentation has revealed that Counter Entities are creatures that like to be in groups, hence why they stay in groups. It has also been revealed that they have independent thinking and do not think in a hive mind-like manner. It has also been revealed that they average to above-average IQ.

During more research on Counter Entities, it has been revealed that they also have special soldiers, such as a soldier that had the speed of Usain bolt despite having military gear on and a light machine gun, and a Counter Entity who has 4x the size of a normal human. This may hint towards Counter Entities mutating and becoming stronger.

After a battle, Counter Entities military gear was discovered that their skin had more metal than usual Counter Entity skin. After being put through tests, It was discovered that this metal was titanium, hence why it was much harder to kill military Counter Entities.

Counter Entities can also speak various languages, but most commonly, English, French, Russian, Chinese, and Spanish. Counter Entities also have an understanding of Mathematics, Language, Science, and various other arts.

Relation to Humans

Counter Entities do not see humans as a threat and will ignore humans, however, if you provoke a Counter Entity into fighting, the Counter Entity will not hesitate to attack the provoker. If you help a Counter Entity they will see you as a friend and will often award flashlights, Night Vision Goggles, Almond water, and Food.

However, continuing to help Counter Entities will give greater rewards, such as helmets, low caliber pistols, and ballistic vests.

Relation to Entities

Counter Entities are hostile to almost every entity except adult Facelings; other species that the counter entities do not exterminate are currently unknown.

Counter Entities seem to have a rivalry with Partygoers, Child Facelings, and Hounds.

Notes

Counter Entities can tamper with the database, similar to partygoers.

Counter Entities are capable of making organizations and groups, like the 053 organization, currently, there are only 2 groups.

The Coalition

the Coalition is a coalition of Counter Entities that have organized for more planning and organization. The coalition focuses on building Counter Entity bases and outposts in various levels while also establishing relations with wanderer groups like the M.E.G., although the relations have been in a depression in recent times.

One of the reasons for the diplomatic depression is the incidents involving them, including violations of the Geneva convention in the front rooms, known as war crimes. However, since the M.E.G. does not want to get in a conflict with the Counter Entities as they see it as a waste of time and resources, not to mention a huge loss of manpower and organization, they have refused any attempts to attack the Coalition.

Experimentation Logs

Experimentation Log #001

We were able to put the 4 Counter Entities in an isolated area; this is going to be our testing site. For now, we will test how they act.

Before we experiment on the Counter Entities, it's best to put a few cameras up.

Experiment 1: We were able to get a Smiler in the Counter Entities' area of containment by luring it, after 30 minutes we checked the camera footage, the Counter Entities shot the entity dead, about 4 shots were fired.

Experiment 2: We tested Counter Entities resistance to toxic gas chemicals, upon seeing the gas, the Counter Entities put on gas masks.

Experiment 3: after the toxic gas cleared off, we isolated one of the Counter Entities, after about 20 minutes, the Counter Entity attempted to escape. after 25 minutes it started using force, it shot the door we put up and regrouped with its squad.

Experimentation Log #002

Day 1: I followed 9 Counter Entities in Level 3, Nothing exceptional or interesting to note happened.

Day 2: there's was a few Hounds near the Counter Entities, when I was observing the fight, a Counter Entity ran past one of the partygoers at 44 km / 27 miles. that's as fast as Usain bolt, and the thing was in counterterrorist gear with a light machine gun.

Day 3: I followed the Counter Entities deeper into level 11 further away from the hotspots, there was a large group of Counter Entities, about 34 of them, the squad of Counter Entities we were following had 7 soldiers. they joined the big group of Counter Entities but that wasn't the only thing we saw, there was a Counter Entity four times the size of a normal human, 22.4 feet tall.

Day 4: The Counter Entities headed back to a police station at a hotspot for residents in Level 3, nothing special.

Day 5: Counter Entities did nothing but walk around the police station and guard it, I ended the observation here.

Brutus Experimentation Organization

Incident 001

May 2nd, 2015
Location: Level 11

After about 4 days in captivity the Counter Entities began trying to escape, after 2 hours the Counter Entities escaped, the Experiment crew evacuated and further experiments on Counter Entities have been delayed.

Incident 002

May 3rd, 2015
Location: Level 11

Counter Entities had stormed one of our bases searching for the experiment crew, all personnel were evacuated to an emergency shelter. After 45 minutes personnel were sent to see if all of the experiment crew were dead. Their bodies weren't found, it's unknown where they are now, they have been presumed dead.

Incident 003

May 5th, 2015
Location: Level 11

After a search for the Experiment crew they were found in a police station, the experimentation crew was evacuated and no further incidents were reported.

Incident 004

May 14th, 2015
Location: Level 11 & Level Fun

Partygoers were seen in Level 11, however, they were right next to a police station which was occupied by Counter Entities. The partygoers attacked the Counter Entities, however they were terminated due to the Counter Entities superior weaponry, after which B.E.O. agents investigating level fun started seeing Counter Entities in Level Fun.

Incident 005

June 20th, 2015
Location: Level 2

M.E.G. Gamma base was raided after a guard accidentally shot a Counter Entity, resulting in the base being under siege and eventually overrun and evacuated, after the incident the M.E.G. repaired the base and it is now functional again.

Note: The M.E.G. is now helping the B.E.O. in researching the Counter Entities, termination of the Counter Entities has been deemed unrealistic and costly.

Incident 006

June 26th, 2015
Location: Level 4]]

Level 4 residents started noticing a horde of Partygoers; the M.E.G. was tipped off and when they came to arrive a large amount of Counter Entity squads started engaging in combat with the Partygoers, at this time, military Counter Entities were first recorded, the military Counter Entities were extremely effective and the Partygoers were exterminated in a mere 18 minutes.

It has been debated if this was a symptom of Counter Entities Evolving or if this existed all along.

Incident 007

June 28th, 2015
Location: Level 2

Counter Entities started a campaign to assault areas of high smiler and hound population, efforts to complete this include: planting bombs over Level 2, in an area of high smiler and hound population. Assaulting high smiler, hound and child faceling population in Level 1, and committing arson in Level 9. These attempts were met with success and proved to degrade the hostile entity population.

Incident 008

July 4th, 2015
Location: Level 1

An explosion by Counter Entities caused an outpost in Level 1, to be destroyed M.E.G. we do not know the intentions of this, but it has been theorized that it was an attempt to kill entities that went wrong.

Incident 009

August 20th, 2015
Location: Level 9

Bigger Counter Entity Bases were discovered in level 9, with only a couple number of entities around the area of the base, it has been assumed that the counter entities have been hunting down and killing entities in Level 9.

September 21st, 2015
Location: Level Fun

Increased Counter Entity presence in level Fun, as well as bases being made by Counter Entities there. Counter Entities crashed several parties and exterminated many partygoers.

Incident 011

October 7th, 2015
Location: Level Fun

Increased Counter Entity aggressiveness and increased chance of military Counter Entities being found, likely in response to the "second fun war", people in the backrooms were recommended to not go to level fun because of this and head to safer levels.

Counter entities also had a brief conversation on Incident log 010, it has been noted that counter entities can mess with the database and change it, like partygoers.

Incident 012

November 8th, 2015
Location: Level 229

Discovery of Level 229 and the mass amount of Counter Entities in it, it has been theorized that this is the source of Counter Entities, but others argue that is the base of operations for the entity.

Incident 013

November 13th, 2015
Location: Level 9

During a research mission in Level 9, three M.E.G. Operatives terminated two squads of Counter Entities, after 3 hours all contact with them was lost.

After a 2 hour search for the bodies they were found, they had 28 bullet wounds, presumably from an assault rifle, however, the bodies had a growth of fungi on their legs, it is unknown if this was related to the counter entities or was caused by another entity.

Incident 014

November 25th, 2015
Location: Level 1

Counter Entities raided a small outpost after one of the members dismembered a counter entities legs, this resulted in a battle culminating in the corner entities winning and leading all of the 66 members of the outpost to be KIA, the M.E.G. has now posted P.S.A.s about the entity.

Incident 015 "What could go wrong?"

January 15 - February 20th, 2016
Location: Level 1 Level 0 Level 4

On January 15th two groups called the Kane's Backrooms Group and the Krull Protection Society began had sought to rid Counter Entities in level 1, as they had destroyed a small outpost, however news about how it happened was not available to the public yet, so they assumed it was a random attack unprovoked by the outpost.

They now began hunting down Counter Entities and were successful and terminating 5 Counter Entity squads, and would've terminated more if the counter entities hadn't raided their main base in Level 1, the members of the base started taking shelter in the buildings and fortifications, the Counter Entities began breaking and entering into the buildings and fortifications and exterminating all the members inside them with only a handful of members escaping the chaos. The 2 groups panicked, as their main base in Level 1 was destroyed.

However this would not be the end of the destruction, as the Counter Entities now attacked any outposts or bases that the two groups had in Level 1, the outposts and bases were destroyed and the two groups now evacuated their members to other levels, however the Counter Entities travelled to those levels, which were Level 0, and Level 4. However the 2 groups started to deteriorate with members leaving after the incident. However the damage would not be as big as what was about to happen next.

On February 20th the members of the aforementioned groups who were in the outposts and bases at the time were shocked when they realized that the Counter Entities had raided their base or outpost, the Counter Entities had travelled to the other bases and outposts on other levels, the outposts and bases were destroyed and many of the members were either KIA or MIA. From this point on the 2 groups were declared defunct and many of the members moved on to other groups like the M.E.G. or B.E.O.

Incident 016 "TOS VIOLATION"

March 20th, 2016
Location: Presumably Level 229

On March 20th 2016 Counter Entities had breached three networks in the backrooms, the M.E.G. database, Backroom Colonists the Backrooms Colonists Database and the ESISPS, the Counter Entities obtained 9 terabytes of information from the groups and more security after the attack, although how the attack happened and how the Counter Entities got into the database is unknown.

Incident 017 "Operation Bricks"

December 1st, 2021

Location: Level 1045.2

On December 1, 2021 the Orderers (a variation of the) Counter Entities tried to make the In-Sighters go extinct, unfortunately, the operation failed, the operation's name was "Backrooms Resistance against In-Sighters for Killing and Secure", or B.R.I.C.K.S for short, but later failed miserably, the "Orderers" are planning another attack on the "In-Sighters", later, Operation B.R.I.C.K.S plan b was launched, causing the death of 100 civilians and 250 In-Sighters, but more In-Sighters appeared 3 days later, planning on attacking the "Orderers", this war would be known as "The Great Entity War".
