Backrooms Wiki

Recovered by museum workers, this diary follows a man named Daniel and his adventures no clipping into the Backrooms. He had no experience, no modifications or perks or anything to help him out. This is the diary.

Day 1

I was on my way to work, bought a new diary for myself, and went on the metro to my job site. However, once I boarded the train, I started sinking, clipping through anything in the way, and all that surrounded me twenty seconds later was yellow walls. No way this was a prank, after all, I started sinking and no one payed attention to me. I took out my phone and frantically searched for where I could be. No signal. Strange. When I did find some sort of signal, it was from near a device in the ground by the way, on a tripod, I searched up where I could be to no avail. I did find this place called, "The Backrooms", but I am yet to meet anything that could prove it is. I actually managed to find some variant of water and food, so I'm going to sleep next to that device. Hopefully, I can charge my phone here.

Day 2

I know I'm going to run out of supplies, if anything doesn't kill me first, so I started wandering a few miles in a random direction. The closest thing I found to civilisation was an old camp, secured by a mediocre wall around it. While my phones connectivity got increased, I doubt it is human for now. But then, I saw a human like person with no face. I nope'd out of there. Nothing too much today. Attempted to pick up some frequencies, and got my phone to broadcast a radio station called, "Backroom Colonists Radio", to see if there was much going on, but it mostly seemed like endless chit and chatter, songs, among other announcements so I just not listened to it for now.

Day 3

I found a sliding door. Finally, I can get something new from this! I went in, and found a metro system. Really funny guys. But I actually saw living humans this time! I talked for a bit, and some people gave me information about what levels to go to, what groups to join, what stuff to stock if you weren't going to join a group for now, tons and tons of stuff. When I went on the actual train, I kept waiting. Tons of people got off at certain spots, and it was only me for a bit of time. I decided to exit, and I went into the level known as "The Hub." This level, you can teleport to tons of different levels, plus the ones you already been too. I already unlocked Level 0, and The Metro from being there, but also get access to Level 1, Level 2, Level 3, and from what I got told Level 4/Level -1 by a chance, and Level 25 and some sort of a cryptic worded level. Most of the above, being 0 to 3, 25 and The Metro were unlocked, but Level 4 with that chance one was achieved by no clipping. I decided to go back to The Metro to rest, and figure where I should go next.

Day 4

I decided to try and explore a bit and try and get to Level 4. My goal overall was founding my own group, and I wanted to mostly stay in Level 5 or Level 4 from what I heard by other wanderers, and if I manage to find a settlement, I should be okay. I walked for a bit, following some other wanderers trying to get to Level -1 by noclipping, and we all no clipped together. We talked for a bit, these wanderers were from a mix of groups, and were all just a tiny part of an expedition team finding and reaching special levels. They themselves were seeing if The Whiteout was still open in any form, and they even gave me some special cashew water, it tasted a bit weird, so I just continued on my almond water supply. I managed to noclip into Level 4, (yay!) During this, I met some wanderers from another group, called The Backroomians. They gave me some extra almond water, which I was running low on, and I managed to go back to their base and talk to some people. Lucky me. They talked about more things related to The Backrooms, like loads on levels, and asked me a few questions. While there are many levels I got told to try and head to in the future, they did seem to agree with my Level 5 plan, and stocked me with some more supplies, and told me to wander around. After all, there was a few outpost and bases near by this one, and some of them had exits to Level 5. I am going to sleep a few miles off in an abandoned settlement just off "Base Malt", as they called it, so good night.

Day 5

I got told by everyone that most levels aren't safe. Turns out, they were right. Once I woke up, I saw a few entities, and since I don't want to die, I climbed into a vent. While the group had told me Level 4 and it's exit levels were mostly safe, I doubt that any levels are truly safe. I ended up in a level I was never told about by the group. See, I was told about The Main Nine by the group, among The Hub and Metro, with some other levels by the group and random wanderers, but no one told me about this! It seemed like a giant area filled with boxes, with endless walls of concrete with pink insulation surrounding me. I decided to look in and take some boxes, and fortunately for me, there's no entities in miles and all the boxes were filled with almond water galore. Not only that, it was very relaxing having no one coming to get me. I spent the whole day there, and even settled in a campsite and fortified it, just in case. Nothing much happened today, just exploration of this level. I'll call it, The Box Station, if nobody has named it already. I wonder if there are any more sublevels or more. From what there could be, there probably is infinite, or at least a few hundred. Well, good night.

Day 6

Strangely enough, I slept in relative peace. Well, I opened some more boxes, got some more food, ate a can of beans with a slice of bread, (unless you can get me a toaster, it'll be non-toasted,) and decided to crawl back through the vent. Strangely enough, I was back to where I crawled through TO the level last time. Well, I decided to go and explore a bit more to find the exit to Level 5. All I can say, it was boring. No groups, no wanderers, no toasters. Heck, I was missing having entities. Only a slight buzz sometimes and an empty bottle of almond water. I also attempted no-clipping, but I failed. I decided not to try it again, because it might get me stuck in another level I have not been told about, which probably would result in my death. After all, my experience so far, when told to people, was faced with shock. After all, many people had to go through the levels instead of being lucky enough to immediately go to my level. Anyways, there was nothing, and I managed to get to sleep in a boarded up, just in case of the entities. After some nice and cold hot dogs with chocolate pudding, (everything in a can or just easy to make), I drifted to sleep.

Day 7

Life is pretty good in The Backrooms, but I wonder about my family and friends sometimes. I wonder how life is for them. Anyways, I recently found a pillow, more almond water bottles, and finally, the most prized thing ever... An exit to Level 5! Woohoo! I decided to camp outside of the exit, and stock up on supplies. I hope I'll reach Level 5. I heard that going through the stairs can get you to Level 6, which I only got told it was an entity hell in there. Sorry for the shorter blog entry, today was me mostly debating whether to stay here or risk it. Ah well, I'll do it in the morning. But if I die here, then I praise myself for making it one week in The Backrooms.

Day 8

MISTAKES. WERE. MADE. I made it to another level, that being Level 6. From what I actually able to notice, it's a hell hole. Barely any light sources, tons upon tons of entities, that I had to almost dodge an entity every 15 so seconds, no supplies. I praise all the people who made an outpost or colony here and had it survive more then a day. Talking about that, I saw no one, but I heard a lot of screams from people. I learned from the people in the group's base I was staying at that if I managed to get to Level 6, just wander to you get to Level 7, and then to find a room to Level 4. That means, I can keep doing that cycle to I get to Level 5. I also got told to avoid for tripwires, and don't jump in puddles. While those ways get you in relatively safe levels, it can be very dangerous to be in those levels. From what I heard, going into Level 6.5 from the tripwires, means you either have to go back to Level 6 or to Level 11, which probably would have you die extremely quick from the entities and events, not to mention the groups there, or by Level 6, which is just a hell hole. After all, I can always come back to the levels again when I'm more experienced and find better entrances. So I decided to wander far as I can, managed to black out, (I think?, Then wake up in Level 7. I'm going to sleep and try and find an exit to Level 4 to try it again, and man, that was one of the worst days I've ever had. Almost as bad as the time the IRS knocked on my door and I forgot I had to pay the taxes.

Day 9

Thank god. I managed to live and get a good night sleep, easily got to Level 4, (but me blacking out constantly it getting quite annoying), and it only took a bit of walking and restocking till I found another stair way. I decided to get all my supplies ready, and got an even stronger flashlight, before I went up. I immediately thought I was back in Level 6, cause of some screaming, but when I woke up, I was in Level 5. Hooray! I decided to get my stuff, sit down in a part of The Lobby, and take a breathe. I even talked to some people, from Camp Julliet, and while I was not really willing to join any group, I still had a good convo with them. I tried to go up the elevator, to claim a room but someone pushed me out. I couldn't go up the elevator, as it often resulted in death. After realising the shortage of rooms, I managed to find one by going up some stairs, but I was broken to see there wasn't a lot. I decided after some time I should find another level, hopefully to restart my life, but I am not going to start scouting out for now. I might as well take some time.

Day 10

Another reorganisation day, talked with a few inhabitants of the level, got my gear packed just in case I do have to go, try and talked to some others about The Backrooms, (mostly uninterested), and I went on my way exploring around Level 5. I decided to try and look in the boiler room, from what I heard, there are numerous exits and it is very dangerous, so I only took a quick glimpse, and it seemed very mechanical. Well, back to my room for some rest. I managed to find a phone charger so I spent a few hours playing mobile games, yahoo for them and their scummy micro transactions. I also took a look at some groups websites, and looked around, making occasional comments. Ah well. I am just getting ready for sleep now, god bless the pillow.

Day 11

I wanted to try and find a level that hadn't been colonised for me to live in relative luxury and peace. Or at least somewhere I can take harbour in knowing I'll live. Then I can stop worrying about my life and writing diary entries. I was thinking about going back to that place in between Level 4, but it's probably going to get colonised soon, and by luxury, I do not want to live by eating cans, in a. small make shift house, while possible entities prowl around the level. Heck no. I haven't found anything yet, but Level 11 seems like a viable option if I secure myself. Well, I decided to go back to Level 4, or at least ask about how to get there again so I can hide out in the box area to gather more supplies. The other residents seemed curious. Not going to let that stop me. There are a few ways, but it's mostly going through dangerous levels then to Level 4 from Level 5. I decided to just search through the information I have, and go to bed.
