Description[]
The only known photo of the Phobia, taken in an unknown level. Photographer is missing; presumed dead.
Entity 12, better known as the Phobia is a Threat Level 5, shadow-like, and seemingly eldritch creature that dwells in a majority of levels in the Backrooms. It is an incredibly dangerous entity that is very likely fatal when it attacks, and its very presence is like a feeling of creeping dread, as if the air itself is thickening with fear when it is present. Those who are unfortunate enough to encounter the Phobia will find themselves trapped in a living hell of their own making, with little to no escape from the relentless onslaught of their deepest fear. If a wanderer tries to noclip to get away from it, the entity will simply de-materialize and re-appear where the wanderer goes, unless someone is lucky enough to get to a safe level. It will most likely never stop until its prey is deceased, a person's only hope to survive would be to either accept their fate, or somehow defeat this dreadful entity.
The Phobia has been confirmed to be only one entity; although it has the power to create multiple instances of itself at once. This has been proven, as there have been reports of several Phobia attacks at once.
Behavior[]
Not much has been observed about the Phobia, it only appears while attacking wanderers, although these are only the "clones" attacking, not necessarily the real entity. (It is still highly likely that these instances are just "clones" of the actual entity.)
The Phobia will only materialize into view and attempt to kill a wanderer when they are isolated and highly stressed/in a state of fear. Although, the Phobia has never attacked in safer levels. It is unknown why the entity does this.
An instance of Phobia will use several methods to kill its target. The first thing it will do is read the target's mind; the Phobia has mind-reading abilities, it is presumed this is how it finds a target in the first place. After reading the mind of the target, it will quickly morph into the target's worst fear, and overload the target's thoughts with the previously mentioned fear. After shapeshifting, the entity will use its new form to its advantage and try to kill the target in its new form. For example, a victim with arachnophobia would see the entity twist into grotesque and giant spider. The Phobia is a smart creature, and if it senses the fear of the target is not dangerous nor scary, the entity will instead use its multiple tendrils and speed to cut, stab, or choke the victim to death. When the victim is incapacitated or dead, it has been observed that it will transform back into its normal form if it wasn't already in it, then it will use its tendrils to consume the victim, dragging them into its mass.
There are two simple ways to survive this incredibly dangerous entity. Firstly, just do not enter dangerous levels, it's that simple. The Phobia only materializes in Class 3 and up levels. Secondly, if one does find themselves in a dangerous level, the other option would be to maintain a state of calmness, as the Phobia will only sense and attack stressed and scared individuals.
Attempts to kill this entity HAVE been made, but have all failed, usually miserably. The Phobia DOES appear to be a physical being, but due to its raw physical power, speed, IQ, and ability to fly, the entity is highly hard to even scratch. It can dodge a bullet, and one would perish before being able to get close enough to use melee weaponry, this is the reason it is advised to try to fully avoid the Phobia.
Biology[]
Not much is actually known about the Phobia, as it only materializes to hunt its victims. Although, as attacks aren't that rare, details have been provided.
Main Body[]
The Phobia first appears as a dark-purple amorphous mass standing at about 6.6 ft, with many wriggling and writhing tendrils coming out of it. Although seemingly being made of shadows, the creature does seem to be a physical being, as it has been hurt before.
Tendril Structure[]
The Phobia's tendrils are ones of its most interesting features, the tendrils being made up of a network of thin, fibrous strands, each one having a system of nerves. These tendrils are capable of extending farther at will, allowing the Phobia to reach out and kill its prey. Each tendril is tipped with many small blades that allow the entity to cut and slice at unfortunate wanderers.
Brain Structure[]
The Phobia does not appear to have a brain, although having mind-reading abilites; the entity seems to be its own mind. It is confirmed that the Phobia has the ability to read a wanderer's mind, as it would have no other way to know what to transform into. Although the entity has the power to read minds, it only uses this power to find what one's deepest fear is.
Additional Information[]
The Phobia majorly lacks most senses needed to survive, these being sight, hearing, taste, and smell. The Phobia can only feel things, it is presumed this is the reason it possesses such a large quantity of tendrils in the first place, as the Phobia has been observed to constantly move its tendrils, constantly feeling the environment.
Strangely, when the Phobia transforms into a new form, it seems to gain the senses of said form. For example, if the entity were to shapeshift into a clown, it would be able to see, smell, taste, and hear things. Additionally, if the Phobia does transform into a creature with the ability of speech, the entity will actually talk in the native language of the victim, as it is presumed that it has gathered all this knowledge from its mind-reading.
Discovery[]
The Phobia has been presumed to be in the Backrooms for thousands of years, although the oldest Phobia attacks have been recorded as long as a decade ago. The first photo of the Phobia was taken in an unknown level, which possibly might not exist anymore.

In the darkness of all the dangers, the Phobia waits patiently for its next victim to feel fear, its tendrils twitching with anticipation as it senses the dread of another unsuspecting soul.
