Description
Entity 124, also known as Clockroaches, are entities that appear to physically resemble a species of cockroach from the Frontrooms, specifically Blattella germanica, with a few key differences that allow wanderers to distinguish it from the average roach. The entity's entire body is colored in a bizarre, exclusively monochrome fashion, and it constantly emits an incessant, rythmic clicking sound, similar to the ticking of a standard analog clock.
Behavior
Entity 124's behavior is ultimately its most differential and dangerous attribute. Instead of directly attacking wanderers, Clockroaches will approach sleeping wanderers, make their way into an orifice in their body (most commonly the ears, nose or mouth) and lay their eggs inside the unfortunate wanderer's body. It is currently unknown whether this behavior is exclusive to interactions with humans, or if it applies to other entities as well. Strangely, Clockroaches will actively flee from wanderers when they are awake, and will only approach at times when they are asleep. Once a Clockroach has laid its eggs, it will die.
A wanderer infested with the eggs of Entity 124 will not immediately experience any notable physical symptoms, with known cases starting with wanderers simply reporting feeling itchy, uncomfortable or just "off". However, once the wanderer succeeds in no-clipping to another level, the Clockroach eggs within them will begin to hatch. Within twelve hours, the roach larvae will have consumed enough of the wanderer from inside to result in death. One key symptom of Cockroach infestation is a ceaseless, rhythmic ticking sound that no one else is able to hear.
It is worth noting that methods of entering levels that do not directly involve no-clipping will not trigger the hatching of Clockroach eggs; therefore, transportation and treatment is possible once a wanderer is infested. It is unknown how the eggs of Entity 124 are aware when their host successfully no-clips; it is currently attributed to genetic programming rather than intelligence, as the entities have never displayed intellect beyond that of a typical roach.
Ironically, due to this behavior, Clockroaches rely on the restless nature of wanderers to explore other levels and therefore infest the backrooms. Theoretically, a wanderer that simply stays put in a level inhabited by Entity 124 could exterminate the population simply by allowing all of the entities to lay their eggs and then die, but never leave the level. Of course, this is only speculation, as doing this to oneself seems akin to torture.
Biology
Because of the nature in which Entity 124 reproduces, the species is exclusively female, with each roach having the potential to lay at most 15 eggs. Aside from this and their unexplained monochromatic coloring, Clockroaches are biologically identical to normal Frontrooms cockroaches.
Treatment
To successfully treat a wanderer is infested with Entity 124's eggs, they must continually ingest Almond Water daily for an extended period of time- currently believed to be approximately a week. Since most wanderers are unlikely to have this much Almond Water on hand, migrating to the nearest M.E.G. base in a safe manner is recommended- in addition to informing the base that roaches inhabit the environment you came from.
Habitat
Entity 124 has been found to primarily reside in dark, indoor, humid levels. While the entity has a similar resistant nature to that of a normal cockroach, it cannot ultimately thrive in levels without a suitable habitat (e.g. Level 7).
Discovery
Given the elusive and deadly nature of Entity 124, an exact discovery date is hard to pinpoint. However, the first reports that led to the categorization of this entity came alongside the settlement of an MEG base in a now forgotten level. While the level and base were technically safe for those residing there, residents that no clipped out of the level began to mysteriously perish in less than twelve hours after leaving; days later, new Clockroaches would emerge from their bodies, having eaten it from the inside. Reports state that the base and attempts to further colonize the level were abandoned; the fate of those who remained in the level is unknown.
