>General information

Entity 16, also known as "Undying," is a humanoid creature that is tall. A method of killing has not yet been found for this creature. It is due to this very reason that they are named "Undying."

Undying are just as smart as humans. They are able to speak or, at least, pronounce a few words in foreign languages. They always appear to be on their guard (for reasons unknown), and so they always attack any moving and foreign object to them. That makes them extremely aggressive, and most interactions with an Undying specimen result in the explorer's death.

They typically roam alone or in small packs of up to five members, but never packs of more than ten. Undying are incredibly quick, but their eyesight is quite poor, so it is possible to outmaneuver them. They are quick, but incredibly easy to evade, as they cannot swim or climb.

Were it to attempt attack an Undying (a measure certainly not encouraged by any stretch), the most effective means of doing so would be to blast the head with solid objects such as metal pipe or other bludgeoning-type weapons. In typical fashion, though, should Undying take damage, it will go into a frantic rage, whereby it has super-strength and agility for a short time frame, rendering it an even more formidable opponent.

>Biology

There are three stages in the life of an Undying.

The first stage is the Root. The Root looks like a normal tree root, but it's made up of raw, living flesh. These tend to emerge from the ground or walls. This is the beginning stage of their life when they're newly "born." They're completely harmless now, but it's nearly impossible to hurt them at this point. They remain in this stage for 1 to 6 months.

The second phase is referred to as the Parasite. This is where the Root transforms into the form of a human body part—a head, hand, or leg. During this phase, the fundamental organ of an Undying is developed: the Parasite, from which this phase gets its name. The Parasite is always located in the original body part that had been developed. For example, if an adult Undying has its Parasite organ on its foot, this means the foot was the first thing it developed during the Parasite stage.

They cannot sense or move at this time. They only grow slowly, slowly forming a complete body. It takes anywhere from 4 months to 1 year for this stage.

The final stage is the Adult Undying. They are humanoid in form at this stage, typically 1.90 meters (6'3\") or similar in height. The distinction is that they are composed entirely of raw, living flesh with patches of dead skin. They may be missing typical organs, limbs, eyes, fingers, or other body parts, yet they will always possess a minimum of one major mutation that sets them apart from a typical human body.

During this stage, they behave as an adult Undying. They can move, speak, and feel emotions. This stage lasts between 6 to 8 years. The longest recorded life span of an Undying has been 8 years and 10 months.

>Relationships & Abilities

Contrary to other beings, Entity 16 occasionally engages in companionship with Entity 8. They have been seen communicating with each other and, at times, staging cooperative attacks to chase their quarry. Because Undyings, with all their heightened speed and acrobatic maneuverability, can only continue short attacks, they depend on assistance from other entities—namely Hounds—to hunt more effectively.

As explained above, Undyings are capable of conversing in most human languages, mostly English and Spanish. However, their speech is unreliable and unsystematic; they speak at random with empty words or senseless phrases and occasionally attempt to build sentences, albeit these are mostly unintelligible. What must be noted is that they barely do this, and it is not worth the attempt to converse with them as this will prove futile when confronted face-to-face and may at best alert them to the explorer's presence.

The Undying's reproduction process is entirely asexual. It entails an adult Undying selecting a surface—primarily the ground or a wall—to be on which it will be completely still. The creature might sit or lie down on this surface for one to two months, transforming into a dormant-like quality and demonstrating no apparent responsiveness to stimuli.

By the time the Undying gets up again, a Root Offspring will have developed at the position where it remained behind. This new creature, in its Root Stage, is quite "exposed." Due to this, the fully-grown Undying automatically protects and cares for the Root, letting it develop until it is in the Parasite Stage.

Once the offspring is in the Parasite Phase, the adult Undying abandons it to develop by itself, without further assistance. After that, the new animal must complete development on its own.

AAEGlogo

In recent days, Λ.λ.∈.G has received numerous reports regarding unusual behaviour among Undyings. These behaviours include attempts to communicate with humans, self-harm, and even signs of self-awareness.

If you have any additional information regarding this phenomenon, please report it immediately to Gabriel, head of the entity division at Λ.λ.∈.G.
