Entity 56, colloquially known as Goalbots are medium-sized robots which are required to do a specific objective. These objectives can range from picking up a specific box from a level or committing genocide upon an outpost. These Goalbots are light gray in color, with some bots being scuffed in design due to beating by wanderers. Thankfully, Goalbots only intentionally attack when their objective is to kill an entity. Also, the Goalbot's motherboard can be found anywhere in their head.
Sightings of Goalbots have been visually similar. The Goalbots being light-gray machines that usually have the shape of a humanoid. Adding on, Goalbot's sizes can range from an average child's height to the size of a regular elephant. However, most Goalbots are usually around 5 feet. Additionally, the Goalbot's main color changes to gold in certain levels. It is speculated this happens when a Goalbot is on a level where their task is located. There have also been rare sightings of Goalbots being made of wood or glass.
These Goalbots are resilient to all blunt attacks. Though, these robots are prone to damage due to penetration with a sharp object. If a wanderer finds themself in a situation with a Goalbot trying to murder them, the wanderer should use a sharp weapon and stab the Goalbot in the motherboard to quickly disperse of them.
Goalbots are humanoid robots that need to accomplish objectives given to them from an entity called "The Manager". These tasks seem completely random to the regular wanderer. Though, these tasks are to get information off of objects or entities. Once there is enough information on an entity, more attacks start happening. Also, the more tasks Goalbots complete, increases the power of their "manager". As their manager gets stronger, more Goalbots will seem to be manufactured for no particular reason. Additionally, the levels with machinery progressively get more dangerous when Goalbots finish their tasks. Goalbots need to follow every order given from the manager, or they will get decommissioned for insubordination. If the Goalbot can't process the task, they will malfunction and remain still until a wanderer rewires them.
Most Goalbots usually have to pick up specific boxes from specific levels. It is theorized that these boxes have some sort of important artifact. When M.E.G. agents intercepted the delivery of these boxes from a Goalbot, they found a bottle filled to the brim with pills. The Goalbots with other objectives seem to be studying the outputs of what they do. This has led to several bases being raided by Goalbots due to the Goalbots studying their infrastructure and weaknesses. Goalbots in habitable levels tend to be more friendly towards the wanderers. This is likely due to them wanting to gain information from wanderers.
Goalbots will do anything to accomplish their goal; there have been cases of wanderers getting fatally wounded due to getting in the way of a Goalbot. These injuries by Goalbots are unintentional and are usually the fault of the wanderer messing around with a Goalbot. Due to this, it is highly inexpedient to interfere with a Goalbot's objective.
When Goalbots fail to accomplish their objective, they immediately get decommissioned and shut off. Certain groups have reused decommissioned Goalbots for transporting objects to other levels. The M.E.G. have been reusing Goalbots the most. Additionally, one can easily rewire a decommissioned Goalbot to do tasks for them. It is not recommended to attempt to rewire a Goalbot that is still operational.
During the 1980s, a mysterious letter was delivered to the M.E.G. Base Alpha in Level 1. The letter contained a polaroid of a humanoid robot waving. The polaroid had no other information except "Good evening!" It is theorized that this letter was sent by a Goalbot accomplishing their task of delivering a letter to an M.E.G. base.
