Description[]

Entity 79, also known as Radio Demons, resemble vintage radios from the early 20th century, when in a docile state. The only distinguishing feature between normal radios and Entity 79 is a noticeable black, viscous substance. Interestingly however, Entity 79's radio like body is only an outer shell-like structure, akin to hermit crabs.

Their true body has never been properly documented, with only vague descriptions of it's figure from wanderers who caught a glimpse of it chasing down prey. Entity 79 interestingly has three distinct stages in behavior, varying on whether the creature is in the need for food.

Behaviors[]

In this stage, Entity 79 will be in a dormant state for 4-5 months, not making any noise or movement. If a wanderer were to encounter an instance of Entity 79 in this state, it is heavily advised to destroy the Radio Demon using any heavy object or weapon applicable. Interestingly, the black substance covering it will become acidic and melt any remains of the specimen. If one is not equipped with any weaponizable material, it is recommended to get as far away from the radio in this stage, as it will become hostile when it awakes.

Entity 79 dormant

In this stage, Entity 79 will be active and play static-like noises mixed in with audible music, typically jazz or ballroom music from the the early 90s, this stage lasts 2-3 weeks. The music emitted by Entity 79 has been reported to attract various other entities, which is why it is encouraged not to approach Radio Demons in this stage. Although unconfirmed, it has been reported that breaking or destroying Entity 79 in this state will cause it to emit loud screeching sounds, attracting the attention of other entities in the area.

An audio recording of Entity 79 in this stage, the wanderer who recorded it is unknown.

At this point, the Radio Demon will begin to mimic the screams and pleas for help of previous prey to lure wanderers or entities. It should be noteworthy that the mimicking of the Radio Demon isn't always perfect, and that there is always a faint static buzz accompanying the fake cries for help. If one were to fall into Entity 79's trap, the Radio Demon will begin to "molt" as some witnesses have described it. The creature will break out of the radio's shell, and begin to chase after it's prey, which usually ends with the prey's demise, as Entity 79 is quite a silent hunter. Entity 79 has been reported to be large in stature, roughly 8-10 ft tall with "tall lanky limbs" and "a lifeless face". Although not fast, with it's top speed being estimated at around 18 mph, it has been theorized that the radio demon may chase it's prey into corners and begin to feast. After it is done, it has been theorized that it may find a radio and crawl inside, ready to start the process once again.

If a wanderer were to be chased by an instance of Entity 79, there's a high chance that they won't make it, but it is highly recommended to try and use flammable items to burn the creature, which may stun or potentially neutralize Entity 79, allowing for time to get away.

Entity 79 sketch

An interview with Martitha Joneson, dated December 18th, 2018.

> Alright Maritha, everything you say is going to be recorded for research purposes, understand?
> Yes, I understand.
> Okay. Now, do you remember anything about the creature you saw on Level 718?
> Yes, the thing I saw wasn't of anything I've seen before, it had pale skin and it's face... Oh god it's face... it had a wide grin and it looked almost as if it's skin was hangin' off it's bones! It's arms were long, metallic in a way, and it's claws were sharp, really sharp.
> Noted, do you remember how you encountered the creature?
> Oh, like it was yesterday. I was simply exploring the asylum when I heard one of my mates screamin' down the corridor, so obviously I ran and hid as fast as I could and held my breath. And I swear, that thing was dragging that poor soul's body down the corridor, smiling while watching his body bleed. I was in the other room, hiding behind the door, I could only see it's freakishly long arm and it's grinning face. I couldn't hear any footsteps as it walked, almost like it wasn't there, but I knew it was there.
> And where do you think this creature came from?
> Oh I'm pretty darn sure it came from that wretched radio my friend said he was gonna keep just in case a few weeks before, that thing was unsettling to look at, I swore I heard movement inside it sometimes...
> Interesting... Now Maritha, would you draw what you saw, along with what you think the full creature looks like on this piece of paper for us?

M.E.G update on the unknown entity attack in Level 5
Level 5 Entity attack investigation report

Alright, so... We recently discovered a room inside Level 5 that seemed abnormally damaged. It was once a simple bedroom, but for some reason it was absolutely covered with claw marks and torn wall paper. Harper detected traces of human blood all over the place, so we reasonably assumed an entity had attacked here.
But what intrigued me was what entity this was, the claw marks didn't match anything I could find, so I called in an investigation team, and wouldn't ya' know it! It was something new. I found a broken camera underneath the bed, and it had ONE in-tact tape. I'll send this to the head research team, cause this tape has never before seen footage of a new entity, and seemingly, a new entity about to kill it's prey.

The tape they found, or at least a portion of it.

Biology[]

Not much is known about a Radio Demon's anatomy, as destroyed radios are corroded away by the acid before they can be taken for study. But it has been theorized that a Radio Demon can contract their muscles and bones to fit into the size of a radio, and when they are ready for hunting, they will lure prey to them using vocal mimicking, and begin to climb out of their shell and chase their prey.

It should be noted that Entity 79's diet is not limited to humans, they have also been reported chasing Hounds, Wretches, Clumps and Facelings.

Entity 79 aftermath

Digestion inside the entity's bowels takes around 5-6 months, and after that it will rebegin it's stages of behavior. It has been theorized that the black acidic substance that the Radio Demon secretes when it is destroyed is meant to be a defensive measure in case it is attacked by other entities in it's hunting stage, something that hasn't been reported yet.

Discovery[]

The first confirmed mention of a Radio Demon dates back to The Flicker, when a journal entry dated February 16, 2016 states that the author can hear the screams of his long lost accomplice and that he's gonna try and find him. That was the last entry in the journal, and the author, as well as his accomplice, are presumed dead.

The origins of Entity 79 are unknown, but they might have been born during The Flicker, as they have mostly been seen feasting on corpses in the dark, and the first confirmed mention of them was during the events of The Flicker. The most prominent theory is that Entity 79 might have been an evolutionary adaptation of a previous entity to thrive better during The Flicker.

Additional Information[]

Although unconfirmed, remains of a creature similar to Entity 79 have been found, with heavy damage and signs of struggle. As of now it is unknown whether this is really Entity 79 or something else, as well as what entity could have killed this currently unidentified specimen, though theories suggest that a Slasher may be at play.
