Description[]
Crawlers, whose scientific name is “Rastejiantus Anormius,” are humanoid-looking entities with red eyes and a disfigured mouth, no nose, and no pupils. They have wrinkled, gray skin with red stripes emanating from their chest, likely originating from the heart, although no heartbeat can be heard. They have extremely long, pointed fingers and a body approximately 170 centimeters (1 meter and 70 centimeters) tall. Their feet are small, probably due to their evolution, adapting to tight spaces. They are so small that they seem to merge with the ground and have six toes.
They are rare to find, and as mentioned earlier, in tight spaces or levels, they are found mainly in Level 678.
The entity has the ability to create ambushes, its speed can reach 95 km/h, and it is capable of deforming for a period that has not yet been confirmed.
Crawlers are extremely territorial, which means you should not approach where they are, that is, their territory.
Their body temperature ranges from 25 degrees to 60 degrees, increasing when they feel threatened or encounter an entity, or decreasing when they encounter a human. Generally, their body temperature is around 43 degrees.
Behaviors[]
Their behaviors vary from entities to humans.
His behavior towards entities is hostile, and he has been seen tearing entities apart on several occasions.
It is not known why, but he hates entities, probably because of territory.
When they spot an entity, their body temperature changes drastically, rising to 60 degrees. Then it starts running, causing the entity to become dizzy and confused; after that, the Crawler starts circling and attacking from behind, dismembering the entity (if it has limbs) or biting it. Then it disfigures the entity with a direct attack, tearing its tissues, eating, headbutting, etc.
After attacking, he enters a state of energy recovery, usually lasting 3 to 4 hours.
Apparently, it also attacks humans, but psychologically.
Again, it is not known why, but it is probably for territory.
They do not attack humans at first sight, probably giving them a chance to stay away from their territory, but when observed a second time, that is when they attack.
It begins to chase the wanderer, appearing in the corner of their eyes, and when observed directly, it leaves. This lasts until the wanderer can no longer take it, and the figures further shake the wanderer's psyche, causing trauma or depression. Usually, their mind can no longer take it, until at one point the wanderer comes face to face with the Crawler, which ends up disfiguring itself. When the wanderer can no longer take it, they end up fainting, which ultimately results in death because, finally, the Crawler takes advantage and tears their flesh, eats their meat, disfigures them, breaks their bones, etc.
After attacking, he enters a state called Berserk, where he becomes more furious and, regardless of whether he is human or not, he will physically attack even at first sight.Biology[]
As mentioned earlier, it has a humanoid body, measuring 170 centimeters. Its body has gray, wrinkled skin, giving it resistance; its feet have been adapted for running and crawling in tight spaces; its body has almost no organs, containing only a heart, brain, eyes, and teeth. Its body has protuberances, as well as an elongated arm and elongated, pointed fingers.
Crawlers have skin that is not only wrinkled but also sticky and oily. Its brain is small, probably due to evolution, and it is unable to speak or produce sounds.
Evolution/History[]
The Cruwer Azilum Virosis (CAV) virus was eradicated in 1673, but before that, it wreaked havoc between 804 and 1069. It was similar to smallpox and was responsible for many deaths. However, in 1065, a man measuring 1 meter and 75 centimeters was infected, and his immune system developed strategies to fight the disease, making him the first human to overcome the disease without treatment.
This man became an important figure in the history of the virus, as he and his partner, Ms. Mia Hillwey, had children who inherited the CAV genes in their DNA. These genes were passed down from generation to generation until 2007, when Alexander Fousthon was found by XONE wandering around Level 10. He was restrained and taken for experimentation, but due to an error in the antibiotic, Alexander suffered a terrible mutation.
After a year of pain and suffering, Alexander escaped in 2008 and was shot several times. However, he survived and transformed into a grotesque creature known as Crawler. With gray skin, a disfigured mouth, red eyes without pupils, and no nose, Crawler was able to transmit the CAV virus through saliva. Anyone who came into contact with him would become one of the infected. Greg Mayson was the one who gave this creature its name.
The Crawlers left the CAV, a virus that had been eradicated, to once again become a devastating plague among levels with high numbers of Crawlers.
Cruwer Azilum Virosis (CAV)[]
Cruwer Azilum Virosis (CAV) is an infectious disease caused by a viral pathogen that is responsible for turning wanderers into Crawlers. This virus was completely eradicated in 1673, but returned in 2008. This virus often attacks the cardiovascular system, where it begins to attack blood cells and white blood cells.
This virus is often found in bodies torn apart by Crawlers, in the Crawlers themselves, and in the saliva left behind by Crawlers. These pathogens, as mentioned earlier, are similar to the Variola virus, a virus that was eradicated by humanity in the frontrooms. Unfortunately, this disease progresses rapidly in 4 stages, but it is curable (unfortunately, the disease cannot be cured in stage 3 and beyond) and mutates three times a year, so its cures must always be updated, and this virus is frequently studied. All cures are available within two to three days after the virus mutates. The virus is fast and advances from stage to stage in hours.
This disease is currently being studied, and as more information is discovered, it will be posted here.
Stage 1 - Initium finis []
This is the first stage, which is noticed 30 minutes after coming into contact with the CAV. Several infected individuals have said that in stage 1, their fingers tremble and seem to move abnormally and uncontrollably, their feet begin to hurt with every step, and they experience fatigue and headaches. This stage is known for the symptoms it causes, which are caused by the loss of some white and red blood cells.
Stage 2 - Anomalous Infestation []
This stage is the second and last one that can give the victim a chance to recover, as this is where things start to get dangerous. After 2 hours, the immune system detects the threat, so the CAV begins to infest some organs, and a battle begins in the individual's body. Wanderers who have gone through this stage say it is horrible, with body aches, fever, and anemia. The CAV ends up infesting the fingers, which makes them a little longer than normal, and the nails begin to become pointed and unbreakable. Several walkers who have gone through stage 2 said they tried to cut their nails and ended up breaking the nail clippers.
Stage 3 - Tempus Non Sanabile []
This stage is characterized by being the first incurable stage of CAV, which appears to be a moment of rest. The wanderer no longer feels any symptoms, and wanderers say they feel better, that everything seems to be over. CAV ends up creating a type of anesthesia, where it leaves the wanderer tired and sleepy, their arms end up growing, and their feet end up getting smaller and starting to take shape. This stage is known as Deception.
Stage 4 - Transmutatio []
This stage is known as the transformation, being able to alter melanin and increase water levels, leaving the infected individual's skin wrinkled and beginning to transform into a Crawler. This stage is reported by the wanderers before they transform, with body pains “that their only desire is for it to stop, no matter how, just for it to stop,” faces beginning to be disfigured, heavy footsteps, constant salivation, disappearance of various organs, transformation of the skin, bones, feet, hands, arms, mouth, eyes, etc. Wanderers become so hideous at this stage that they are no longer considered human. This transformation into the entity causes the wanderer to lose their nose and pupils, and they begin to adapt to claustrophobic places, making them uncomfortable in other locations.
Discovery[]
Do's & Don'ts[]
Do's []
- Don't follow the noises.
- Keep quiet; Crawlers have keen senses such as sight and hearing. This is due to their lack of a nose.
- Crawlers attract the attention of various wanderers, causing them to look; try not to look to the sides, behind, or in front; look at the ground and cover your eyes, and it will not attack you.
- If you feel like you are being watched, leave the area immediately.
- Don't enter a level infested with Crawlers, example: Level 678.
Don'ts []
- Follow the noises
- Make noises
- Look around in tight spaces.
- Do not leave the area if you feel like you are being watched.
- Enter a level infested with Crawlers, example: Some areas of level 2.
