Overview[]

The Tinkerer is a large quadruped standing at roughly 7ft tall on all fours. It has a large eerily hominid looking torso, with canine hind legs, a reptilian head reminiscent of a raptor-like head, and finally and most notably two large spike-like bones acting as forelegs. All mammalian parts of the body are cover in multiple layers of thick blue and white fur, this would indicate a more artic habitat but as of now M.E.G has not found any Tinkerers in said environments.

Biology[]

The appearance of this entity is almost something out of a fever dream. The head is particularly interesting as it shows many, almost mechanical instruments instead of the normal external organs of all other biological life. The Tinkerer has a set of three mechanical lenses where the eyes would be. These three sets of "eyes" can each see in different environments.

The top pair is inferred to some of the shortest microwaves, the middle set see all the visible light spectrum that us humans can see, and the bottom set sees from ultraviolet to the edge between gamma rays and X-rays. Besides their ability to see almost the entire electromagnetic spectrum, the lenses also contain a set of red LEDs behind them with no apparent source of power. We have no current explanation of how they manage to glow.

Moving from the "eyes" to the jaw, we can observe that it has no vocal cords at all, yet it can, with strenuous effort, replicate human speech. It does this by vibrating a set of 6 glowing yellow bubbles, (or maybe some sort of pustules) each of these 6 pustules can vibrate at frequencies ranging from 20 to 20,000Hz. These pustules are full acid that can be shot at unsuspecting victims. The acid itself is another instance of this creatures bio mechanical features, as the acid is composed of self replicating nanites, and has the consistency of hot wax, the only way to stop the nanite acid is a compound found in the Tinkerers saliva.

Other than those three unique features on the head, the forelegs, as mentioned previously, are long spiked bones protruding out about halfway down the Humerus from the shoulder. The spikes is composed of a bone-like material with the one exception being that it does not contain blood vessels, bone marrow, or nerves. On top of that, the bottom half of the bone facing the torso is sharpened to be razor sharp.

The internal structure is just as fascinating as upon the dissection of multiple Tinkerers. It was found that they had no sex-linked organs, and all other essential organs were seemingly random in location and in number, (with exceptions to the brain and all other external organs, such as eyes, and mouth, as well movement based structures such as bones, veins, ligaments, etc.) the first subject that was dissected on July 5th 201X, had two gallbladders right under the collarbone and next to the right and left arm socket, and the second only had one in the back of its neck, with the third one having none at all. (This applies to internal organs) It seems that the do not need essential organs, but if one is damaged it can injure or even kill the entity. (quite similar to facelings)

Behaviors[]

The Tinkerer is very elusive, until recently we did not even have this Entity cataloged. The only known way for it to appear (it is undermined if this method forcefully manifest the Entity, or if it is drawn towards wanderers that replicate this method) is to first find a level with at least a low to moderate amount of Entity infestation, the level must also resemble or include bedrooms or other living spaces. ( such as the suburbs, or the concrete jungle) One must then find a bed, preferably with a night stand, table, or dresser, nearby. You must then put at least one small handheld electrical device on said dresser or other fixture. (please note, the more devices present the more likely for The Tinkerer is to appear, but the more potentially dangerous it could be) Finally a wanderer must then fall asleep in a bed of some kind, hammocks, and sleeping bags, have the same affect. Once the steps are completed there is a chance for The Tinkerer to wander in to said bedroom and begin to tinker with the devices laid out, if the wanderer is to wake up during this process the Tinkerer will stop all movements, presumably to not frighten the wanderer, after roughly 7 seconds if the wanderer does not move, speak, go back to sleep, or make and other attempt to communicate, the Tinkerer will try to start a conversation. Introducing itself as The Tinkerer, hence the name. It is intelligent enough to communicate with the competency of middle to high school student. It regards itself as a simply curious creature, and has no hostile intent behind its actions. It demeanor will drastically change if it suspects you or anyone else is recording, photographing, or in anyway documenting it. Its fur will start to stand up, and it will begin to look around first slowly and cautiously, but devolves into more jittery, and anxious movements. If it discovers you or any other wanderer are attempting to documenting it, it will lash out violently.

When angered (documentation) or threatened, it will lunge at the perpetrator with surprising speed, (leaping speeds clocked in at 42mph, sprinting speeds exceeding 60mph) and will either maul them with its rows of teeth, or impale and stab them with its long spiked forelegs. However if there is either a uncross able gap or barricade it cant destroy, it has shown the ability to shoot the aforementioned acid out of the pustule-like glands in its mouth. The Tinkerer has also shown to have amazing durability, there have been at 2 separate reports of wanderers being ambushed by Smilers while in the process of "summoning" the Tinkerer and before any damage occurred to any of the parties involved the Smilers retreated on the sight of the Tinkerer.

As the name implies, the Tinkerer can create non-anomalous, as well as anomalous objects seemingly from scraps and technology. As part of the process of encountering the Tinkerer, one must put out electrical devices or scraps of electronics. If a wanderer does not wake up, the Tinkerer will leave after roughly 2 1/2 hours and depending on how many devices are left out will leave 0-6 different contraptions most of which will not work, though will sometimes create useful item such as Kaboom-box's, Portable purifiers. On very rare occasions it can create sentient machines that will attack any living organism on sight.(Including other entities, but they will prioritize humans over other entities) The lethality of these machines vary between toddler like behavior, to class 4-5 entities levels of strength.

Discovery[]

The Tinkerer was first reported to the M.E.G in September 19th 200X when a Wanderer rushed into base Omega screaming to save them and that a demon from hell was chasing them he was stopped be personal but with in 5 seconds the Tinkerer could be seen turn a corner about a 100 meters away. When personal saw this they initiated a base wide lock down. The head of the base ordered to fire at the Tinkerer, despite most shot either missing due to its speed or being shrugged off. One agent hit it in its lower, left hip in response the Tinkerer created a high pitched noise clocked in at 172 dB, and 18,543 Hz, and then immediately dropped to the ground. The later autopsy revealed to was shot in a heart that was located in the connecting points of the lower abdomen and upper left hip. In the incident 8 agents were killed 5 from acid shots to the body, 2 from being stabbed and impaled by the entity's forelimbs, and 1 from the 172dB screech which managed to rupture a new surgically implanted lung.
