Of course, by the nature of human documentation, not all articles in The Database can be sorted into neat, rigid categories. The Esoteric List is a resource to find subjects pertaining to the Backrooms which are neither levels, entities, objects, phenomena, groups, canons, or even tales—records which lie between the margins of this dimension.Esoteric Category List
> Terminals [ESOTERIC CATEGORY-001]
Terminals are anything — be it an object, event, location, or something else — that will take a person out of a Dimension in a way that doesn't involve No-Clipping. They push the boundaries of our current understanding of the relationship between the Universe, the Backrooms, the Broken, and perhaps places beyond, suggesting that the Dimensions might be closer to each other than what is commonly believed.
Terminals that present themselves as objects and locations are typically specific or anchored to that one thing, and will be as such for an extremely long period of time, while those that express themselves as phenomena or events are usually more widespread and fleeting, happening suddenly and disappearing soon after before resurfacing somewhere else. Overall, they are comparable with the Entrances and Exits found in the Backrooms, but Terminals are typically seldom and tend towards anomaly, while always acting on a inter-dimensional scale.
Most known usable Terminals are one-way — from Earth to the Backrooms or Broken, and not vice versa nor in any other way. While many are avoidable, some will simply drag the wanderer down into the Halls, with no chance of escape.
One must be careful of their surroundings in areas with these Terminals, lest they get caught by the vice of liminal ecstasy.
