Causation
Billy Bob Joe was a hardcore Federation Exceptionalist. When he shut off trade to the M.E.G it weakened the flow of money to the M.E.G, this worsened the already sour relations between the two groups. Billy Bob Joe also told Federation citizens that they should start attacking M.E.G operatives. Due to the fact that the M.E.G didn't want to lose their hold on Level 311 they signed an official declaration or war making it one of the only official wars in Backrooms history.
Battles
While most of the war was small skirmishes there where four main battles to take note of.
Battle of Willows Ridge
Word hadn't got out that the M.E.G where moving troops through the Mountains until they made it to Willows Ridge. There was a small Evergreen Federation Defense Force battalion in the town that fought off the M.E.G forces. The most civilian casualties where from this battle as M.E.G forces used firesalt grenades to mess with of Federation Forces. While both sides fought hard for the town it was untimely a Federation victory.
Battle of Henderson Bog
Federation generals made an attack plan to take the M.E.G's Salt Swamps outpost near Henderson Bog. Once the battalion had reached the outpost a battle of attrition had started. Soldiers on both sides where getting stuck in the mud. Even Bog Crawlers where eating dead, injured and stuck soldiers. When the smoke had clear the M.E.G held onto their later abandoned outpost.
Battle of Lareden Banks
The M.E.G made attempts to sneak around the Lareden River to take Evergreen City. A patrol group managed to spot the M.E.G group before they could get to Evergreen city. Once this happened the encounter later turned into 6 month long battle. The battle barley involved any direct combat and was mainly just shooting firesalt artillery at the other bank of the river. The M.E.G battalion ran out of ammunition and had to retreat.
Battle of Fort Zeta
Perhaps one of the largest battles of the war was at Fort Zeta. Fort Zeta was an Evergreen Federation controlled military base on the far southern edge of Level 311. Multiple M.E.G battalions where on track to surround the fort. Once the Federation forces where surrounded they fought hard against the M.E.G invaders. The most casualties in the entire war happened here with both sides losing around 1000 soldiers. But due to the fact that the Federation forces where running deathly low on supplies they surrendered.
Resolution
By the end of 2000 Billy Bob Joe was a really unpopular prime minister. Hannah Dencan was elected in 2000, she was very opposed to the war Billy Bob Joe had started. Eventually the Treaty of Evergreen City was signed agreeing to give control of Fort Zeta to the M.E.G but also requiring the M.E.G to pay for 70% of the damages.
