"The Eyes, they chase you until you cannot run. Do not stop running; if they do catch up to you, I promise you'll meet a fate worse than Death." ― The Rayne Wanderer

Eyes are entities that, oddly, solely attack mentally stable wanderers as opposed to those who are already disturbed. These entities are infamously disturbing to look at, and induce feelings of panic and paranoia in anyone who makes eye contact with them.

Description

Eyes are seemingly 2-dimensional, and range between around golf ball to football size, though much larger sizes have been reported. Eyes will appear for only a fraction of a second before disappearing, seemingly 'blinking' in and out of existence; as a result, taking a photo of an Eye is nearly impossible. Despite being unable to communicate in any way, Eyes will instantly give off a menacing aura that causes all who encounter them to feel threated by their presence in some way.

Eyes are being described as relentless in their pursuit of Wanderers, and if attacked will split into swarms of a dozen smaller eyes. Though Eyes have never been documented inflicting physical damage to Wanderers, they are infamous for their ability to deal serious psychological damage to those who make eye contact with them. How this effect manifests is different for each individual, the most common types of mental attacks include:

Paranoia induced by Eyes is described as starting of as a mildly unsettling feeling that builds up the longer you are being pursued by the Eyes. Although they do not physically harm you, their presence will cause you to experience intense feelings of danger and fear of you surroundings until your fight or flight instinct is triggered. This often results in Wanderers seriously hurting or even accidentally killing themselves as they try to sprint away from the entities recklessly.

Glossophobia induced by Eyes differs from Paranoia in that instead of fearing for their safety, Eyes will cause wanderers to experience an intense feeling of being judged by others. The longer they are pursued by these eyes, the more intense the feelings of expectation being under scrutiny will become. While in this state, any mistake you make or anything embarrassing that happens to you will deal severe damage to your confidence and mental stability until you are no longer able to function properly and seek only to hide from the Eyes.

Eyes also have the ability to induce intense feelings of guilt within you. Individuals affected by Eye induced guilt will usually be quick to associate the Eyes with people from their past, or even believe that all they eyes belong to one specific person they once knew. The longer they are pursued, the stronger the feeling of guilt will become until they eventually end up committing suicide.

Eyes will also sometimes reawaken trauma in wanderers who have experienced some form of domestic abuse, whether it be from parents or spouses. Like with guilt many who experience trauma induced by Eyes come to associate the eyes with people who have harmed them in the past, or even believe that all the eyes belong to one specific person who abused them in their past. The longer they are pursued, the more of this past trauma will reemerge, unless you are able to overcome it completely. If you are somehow able to overcome your previous trauma while under attack, Eyes will no longer be able to use Trauma inducement against you.

Eyes sometimes will induce feelings of rejection and extreme loneliness in Wanderers. Unlike Guilt and Trauma inducment, Rejection induced by Eyes rarely becomes associated with one particular person. Instead of pursuing Wanderers, Eyes will sometimes use Rejection Inducement on those who have experienced extreme loneliness and isolation in childhood. This will cause the wanderer to associate the eyes with acceptance, and will pursue them in a vain attempt to befriend them and gain their acceptance. Eyes will then retreat from the wanderer and blink out of reach, or if caught, split into dozens of eyes that flutter away until the wanderer is completely exhausted and broken.
