Description
The first known image of a Frowner. taken in 2010.
Frowners are typically docile entities, that are similar to Smilers. They are recognizable for their signature reflective eyes and gleaming teeth and appear to be between is six to ten feet tall. They are speculated to have long sharp horns extruding from their heads, as well as long claws shrouded in the dark corners or doorways they appear in.
Behavior
If Frowners are provoked or seen as a threat, they will turn aggressive and exit their docile state. It is unknown whether a Frowner can re-enter their docile state once it exits it, so caution is advised when near them. The Frowners seem innately hostile to Smilers and will exit their docile state upon sensing their presence. Frowners possess an unique ability to convert Smilers into them by gouging out their eyes with their claws. Frowners are also known to have a sense of humour, although this may or may not be exclusive to Level Frown. In rare occasions, Frowners will gladly assist any wanderers to Level Frown.
Biology
Frowners possess glowing eyes with various colors, even though there are no known pictures of their colored eyes. Converted Smilers have exclusively white eyes and their faces are a bit glitchy and blurry. Frowners have a long frown, with multiple sharp teeth.
The Smiler infestation
Prior to The Smiler infestation, there were around 5,392 confirmed sightings of Frowners, but on July 15th, 2015, a growing infestation of Smilers in the Old Level Frown displaced the Frowner population that inhabited it. The conflict that ensued, nearly drove Frowners to extinction with Frowners being reclassified from frequent entity spotting to low frequency entities on July 23rd, 2015, with Frowner appearances becoming more and more uncommon as they fade away in the aftermath of the devastating Smiler infestation. Today there remain only 104 confirmed original Frowners with most of the remaining Frowners being converted Smilers. Right now, the Frowners are trying to repopulate by converting Smilers into them, but unfortunately, the progress on this has been very slow.
Discovery
The Frowners were originally discovered on May 10, 2010, by M.E.G. Researcher Jose. He claimed that when he was in Level !, getting chase by horde of entities, one of the hallway doors opened, and a "Glowy Frowning Thing" dragged him into the door and brought him to a black-and-white 1930s Hotel. He stayed there for 5 hours before returning to the M.E.G. Base.
