The Major Explorer Group (M.E.G.):

The M.E.G. (Major Explorer Group) is a large and influential group existing within the Backrooms. The group was founded by The First in 1885, and finalized (in terms of leadership) in the year 1900. The M.E.G. acts as a form of government for the first few thousand levels of the Backrooms, and is very effective in this role – the rulers of the group are called the Impresarios.
The prime directive of the Major Explorer Group is to help wanderers, and enact a government in the Backrooms to cease anarchy and chaos – in synopsis, the directive of the group is to be a helping hand. It accomplishes this through the Database and operatives advising Wanderers, with no way to enforce laws or physically help on many levels.
E.S.I.S.P.S
The E.S.I.S.P.S. (Enigmatic Space Information Security & Protection System) is a program developed by the M.E.G. with the intention of creating a secure database of information regarding anomalous locations. Information pertaining to these locations is encrypted and securely sent between bases without the risk of being intercepted.
Kauer Research Organization:

Kauer refers to a multifaceted group in the Backrooms with the purpose of studying anomalous and harmful objects found in various levels. This group has an outpost stationed in Level 74, along with various other outposts in certain levels, with the location of their headquarters remaining classified. Kauer is a very mysterious group, as their practices are kept secretive and their documents are mostly kept confidential. However, one document has recently been declassified, that being The Kauer Thesis. This thesis hypothesizes the cause and creation of the Backrooms as being an illusory tulpa created from the belief of many.

The Backroom Pioneers are a powerful and well-known organization within the Backrooms. They ultimately are a strong and diverse group, thriving in hundreds of levels. Their colony page is extremely detailed and described in-depth, so more information can be found there.
The Federation of the Three Flags:

The Federation of the Three Flags (previously known as Camp Blastdoor or simply as The Blastdoor) is a group consisting of around 250 people located in Level 0 through Level 2, with occasional scouting parties located elsewhere. The Federation is headed by its founder, Archon u/Johannes_V, alongside a congress of 6 members. Camp Blastdoor was created after u/Johannes_V discovered a blast door and subsequently a pantry filled with food on Level 0, and has since been completely focused on restoring order and justice to the Backrooms, acting as a police force and aiding groups in Levels 0 through Level 5. After winning the First Insurgency-Blastdoor War, the group changed its territory to annex Fort Blake, the Hub, and Camp Blastdoor, hence the term "Three Flags".
The group is most famous for its extensive law books, factories, substantial military presence, ideals of order and justice, and its series of signals written in magic marker along the walls of Levels 0-2, which can help newbies find their way around the Backrooms.
As of the current moment, the group is remilitarizing in the possible event of a second war with the Resurgency of the Insurgents. However, trade and joining will remain open until stated otherwise.
United Backrooms Authority:

The United Backrooms Authority (the U.B.A.) is a large secretive group that exists within the Backrooms. They possess a massive amount of territory in certain levels and are one of the more unpopular groups in the Backrooms due to them conquering many smaller groups. The U.B.A. is lead by a group referred to as "High Command". Claims to the structure of High Command made by U.B.A. officials often contradict each other. Combined with the U.B.A.'s known propensity for lying, this makes determining any information on High Command extremely difficult. It does appear that very few members of the U.B.A. have any direct contact with High Command. High Command has been known to communicate in only three ways, through the U.B.A. network, through High Command Operatives, and through High Command Representatives. The U.B.A. has a strict militaristic hierarchy, wherein members of higher ranks have complete authority over their subordinates. The U.B.A. does not have any distinction between civilians and soldiers: all members of the group are part of the military. U.B.A. members can be easily spotted by their uniforms. The color of the uniforms depend on the members rank, with higher ranked members wearing colorful embroidered uniforms and and lower ranking members wearing more simplistic uniforms. All members of the U.B.A. wear an armband with the U.B.A. logo.
Brutus Experimentation Organization:

The Brutus Experimentation Organization is a group dedicated to studying entities within the Backrooms. This group is responsible for experimenting on entities in various levels; they are most well-known for their experiments on Counter Entities. They also give supplies to survivors, but it is rumored that it is only to gain a better reputation amongst wanderers. The B.E.O. was founded in Level 11 after an agreement was made by 3 people, one of their names being Brutus, and the identity of the others remaining unknown. There is not much known about the group itself aside from its frequent experimentation on entities. The group has done good things for the Backrooms, such as researching entities and increasing the general understanding of them.

United Backrooms Delivery Service:

The United Backrooms Delivery Service (the U.B.D.S.) is a group of people that delivers products to those trapped in the Backrooms. These carriers are known as Deliverers. Most Deliverers travel on their own, but some may stick together in more dangerous levels to better defend themselves. U.B.D.S. products include Almond Water, Deoxyribose Syrup, and "Kenny's Bioluminescent Flower Goo", amongst other products. Deliverers accept payment in the form of empty bottles, scraps of metal, or seeds of any kind.
At the moment, there is a little over 70 members.

The Commercium Foundation is a trading and exploration group with the purpose of making travel around the Backrooms safer. The group builds safe transportation to levels in the form of portals. Anti-Entity Agency (A.E.A.):

The Anti-Entity Agency (A.E.A.) was a group consisting of around 120 people of unknown identity; they referred to themselves the Anti-Entity Agency and believed that they could destroy the creatures lurking within the Backrooms forever. They dressed as business men and sold supplies such as radios, steel, and rare items found in Level 9 and Level 11. The group was founded around 1950, and dissolved in 1988. The AEA's base was located in a building in Level 11, with the entire building refurbished and lightly armored against intruders. It is unknown where the members went after the group dissolved, but some theorize that they were raided by another group.
The Anti-Entity Group (A.E.G.):
The Anti-Entity Group (A.E.G.) is a modern subgroup of the Anti-Entity Agency, created with similar goals after its dissolution. Similar to the A.E.A., the group actively hunts and kills entities in the Backrooms. The group has a total of 212 members, and holds a moderate amount of supplies, including Almond Water and a large armory of weapons. Their members are very highly trained, with most being proficient at hand-to-hand combat and weapon handling. The A.E.G. has remained largely controversial with their notorious kill-on-sight policy for entities, hunting down all anomalous non-humans, dangerous or not.
Entity Recycling Association (E.R.A.):

The Entity Recycling Association (The E.R.A.) is a highly secretive trade organization consisting of a small group of unknown members. The group is thought to sell goods crafted from parts of hunted entities. The E.R.A. does not divulge any information regarding their practices, though it is rumored that they work in conjunction with the A.E.G. to receive a majority of their supply. It is thought that the group performs secure trades with high-profile groups and individuals. The rarer the entity is, or the more dangerous it is to hunt, the higher the buyers are willing to pay. The locations at which they operate are as of yet unknown, but it has been advised not to interfere should one come across a trade-in-action, as there have been reports of eyewitnesses going missing.
The Tourism Guild (T.T.G.):

The Tourism Guild is a group consisting of about 90-110 armed and trained personnel. The group performs bimonthly expeditions into Level 0, Level 1, and Level 2, hence the name. It is likely that they noclipped in the Backrooms whilst at a military base, resulting in their surplus of resources and ammunition. It is unknown how they carry all of their weapons and supplies, so it is theorized that they have an armory in a classified location. They occasionally trade, perform search and rescue operations, and recruit new wanderers that are skilled. The location of their primary base is as of yet unknown; they do, however, have a smaller outpost on Level 0.
The Evergreen Federation:

The Evergreen Federation is a republic located in Level 311 with a current population of around 2,000. The Federation has common systems and facilities that a city in the Frontrooms would have, such as an electrical grid, currency, a police department, and a transit network known as The Pipeline that connects the major towns and cities. They usually allow newcomers to live in their territory and become citizens. There is one exception however; one is unable to become a citizen if they are an M.E.G. member. This is due to a recent war fought between the M.E.G. and Evergreen Federation. Most information known about Level 311 has been attained from expeditions performed by the Evergreen Exploration Department.
X-Cast:

The X-Cast is a special-ops task force consisting of approximately 400 members with branches in different areas. The organization is united under one cause: the eradication of Backrooms entities. They originate in Level 0, with their first branches being the X-Cast Operator Squad I and the X-Cast Foreign Unit. Throughout the existence of the Backrooms, they have grown in size due to the increasing amount of incoming wanderers. Coinciding with the group's goal, they are allied with the A.E.G. Most of the members that make up their task force are army veterans, CIA members, and FBI members. Most branches are neutral to wanderers, while others are hostile; of note, only one is actively helpful to them. All X-Cast branches are equipped with a military-grade armory; after discovering weapons in Level 4, an unknown group of members formed the organization. They inhabit bases located across different Backrooms levels, with each base and branch serving a different purpose, as listed below:
X-Cast Delta Base series (Delta-Bravo, Delta-Omega, Delta-Alpha, Delta-Gamma, Delta-Kilo):
- X-Cast Echo Base series (Echo Foxtrot, Echo Lake, Echo Golf): Inhabits Level 11 and Level 12; hostile to all.
- X-Cast Operator Squad series (I, II, III, IV, V, VI): Inhabits numerous Backrooms levels; focused on killing hostile entities; hostile to wanderers.
- X-Cast Special Weapons Unit: Inhabits many levels where Partygoers are found, and are thus dedicated to hunting them; passive to wanderers.
- X-Cast Intelligence Unit: Solely inhabits The End; excel at hacking and manipulation; neutral to wanderers.
The K4:

The K4 is a Backrooms operation team consisting of about 100 people currently, if you need extraction, they got you. They also help out many colonies survive and persist in the harshest conditions. The operative base is at an unknown level. They also assassinate people and take down groups if needed. Their uniforms are in all black and you can tell it's them if they have glowing blue watch.
New Backrooms Republic (N.B.R.):

The New Backrooms Republic (The N.B.R.) is a group consisting of around 500 people. The group has have bases set on Level 0 through Level 5. The N.B.R. frequently has skirmishes with the K4 due to differences in ideals. Their uniforms are solid brown, and they can be identified via the N.B.R. patch (pictured).
The Backrooms Investigation Foundation (B.I.F.):

The Backrooms Investigation Foundation (The B.I.F.) is a friendly organization dedicated to investigating the Backrooms and rescuing explorers from harmful levels. The group often donates supplies to wanderers and other groups. The B.I.F. has numerous outposts across the Backrooms, having an estimated 1,100 operatives, all with the primary goal of making the Backrooms a safe place. Like many other groups, the Partygoers are the B.I.F.'s primary enemy, with the group having a kill-on-sight policy for the entities. The B.I.F has multiple departments for different utilities, such as physics, scientific, and medical departments.
Almond Water Inc. ™:

Almond Water Inc.™ is one of the main culinary companies present in the Backrooms. The group produces, sells, and provides Almond Water and Almond Water-related products to the entirety of the Backrooms, with their goal being to provide sustenance to the wanderers of the Backrooms. The company is currently accepting new members; one can find the group stationed in Level 1980.
Backrooms Pharmacy Agency (B.P.A.):

The Backrooms Pharmacy Agency (the B.P.A.) is a pharmaceutical organization that markets medicines and healthcare products in the Backrooms. The group is stationed in a fairly populated area of Level 4; they will provide pharmaceutical products given that one has signed up for an account and has currency on hand. The process by which the group produces their medicine is currently unknown. Most of their products come in the form of colorless, odorless pills; while their origin cannot be fully ascertained, they have been shown to successfully cure certain ailments, depending on the drug purchased. The B.P.A.’s primary goal is to provide healthcare to wanderers and make their journey safer.
"KILL EVERYBODY":

“KILL EVERYBODY”, as coined by wanderers, is a militant organization with an unknown amount of members. The group does not have any official colonies, as it is not centralized in any one level or location. Due to this, many members of “KILL EVERYBODY” have never actually met one another. The group lacks an official leader, as well; it is thought to be more of a movement than a group, but members claim it is “more than a movement”. As the name suggests, the official goal of ”KILL EVERYBODY” is to kill every single entity in the Backrooms. Due to the group’s meager member count, however, this goal is far from attainable. Unlike The Raiders, or other groups similar in ideology, the group does not plunder or steal - they only kill. The members of “KILL EVERYBODY” appear to have no care whatsoever of who or what they kill, as they seem to do it for the killing itself. When interviewed or otherwise questioned by other groups and organizations, the majority of “KILL EVERYBODY” members only spoke of killing, death, and an “uprising”.
While the group is typically hostile toward other organizations, the members of “KILL EVERYBODY” will openly work with groups that follow ideologies similar to theirs if they can further their goals of killing. This includes groups such as the A.E.G. and the X-Cast.
Despite its size, there are rumors that “KILL EVERYBODY” runs the Death Party (one of many infamous political parties within the Backrooms), harboring plans to infiltrate the Backroom Pioneers and murder all of the members of the group, though the validity of this claim remains unknown.

Camp Amber:

Camp Amber is a base located on Level 0, with its population fluctuating year-to-year. The group has a government and "elders" help make decisions for the colony. Camp Amber usually moves place every five years to keep away from their enemy: Fort Blake. They have a second Base on Level 4 called Base Safety and a new outpost in Level 5. They recently were annexed by The Backroom Pioneers, and remain a colony of the group.
The Mountain Man Coalition:

The symbol of the Mountain Man Coalition. This symbol can be found written on walls near caches of supplies and tattooed on members wrists.
The Mountain Man Coalition is a loose group of hermits and frontiersmen who pass information to and from other factions and tribes. They are notorious spies in the Backrooms; for the right price, one can know quite a bit about any of the other groups. An estimated 50 people founded the Coalition. There is no central authority present, and the current number of members is unknown.
The Smiths:
The Smiths are a sub-group of The Mountain Man Coalition, reportedly consisting of six blacksmiths that entered the Backrooms with their forges, though this remains a matter of folktale. There is currently one Enforcing Hunter and lead smith. They are located in The Hub where they have set up shop near Door 4. They are always thankful for extra help. They are willing to make weapons and armor for anyone who needs it, given that they are paid. Weapons can range from swords to clubs, and armor ranges from plate to chain.
Fort Resurgence:

Fort Resurgence was a coalition of raiders from Fort Blake, the Hazel crew, and over 50 lesser bandit tribes. The leader of Fort Resurgence is a man known as Nathaniel. After a brutal war, Fort Resurgence was supposedly destroyed, but Nathaniel survived due to evacuation procedures and is loose within the Backrooms. Fort Resurgence held the Backrooms under brutal custody for a long period of time, where they murdered innocents and neutral soldiers.

The Backroom Explorers are a group of approximately 50 wanderers with a growing member count. They set up their largest base in Level 0, and the smallest in Level 3. They are currently exploring Level 2, getting near Level 3. They have also been exploring Level 4.5 and Level 5678. They are a non-hostile group, helping lost people in the Backrooms.
The group system of the Backroom Explorers is complex. If an entity is near, they have a safety protocol referred to as "Code Red". If they encounter an Anethika, they go on immediate lockdown called "Code Black". Breaking rules will result in one being kicked out of the group.
Backrooms 1998 Search and Rescue Party:

The "Backrooms 1998 Search and Rescue Party" (BSRP) was a group of 12 volunteer scavengers who searched for missing people in the Backrooms. The group had been disbanded after an incident following the year 1999; the team utilized an IRC to communicate, and a message was received on one of their channels about a help request from a missing person in Level 3. The entire team was sent in to find the individual, yet nobody came back; their website was later taken down because the website hosting provider went out of business. The only remaining information about the group came from the friends and family of some of the members, and a phone that had been found in Level 1 belonging to the team's leader; however, it was severely damaged, and the only file that could be recovered was a highly corrupted image of the team's icon, as seen above. No new information pertaining to the group has arisen since 2013.
Olympian Rescue Unit (O.R.U.):

The Olympian Rescue Unit is a group residing in a newly discovered part of the Backrooms now known as "Olympus". Their group's goal is to rescue lost explorers and supply them with almond water and other beverages, Olympus can be accessed through Level 0 by listening for the sound of thunder and following it into a dark wall, or through a tornado shelter door in the hub. The group is open to trade, likely being the most sane in the Backrooms due to having an abundance of almond water and the strange lack of whispering voices in Olympus. The group is currently made up of two people with three residents of Olympus.
A Groups of Idiots (AGI):

A Groups of Idiots (A.G.I.) is a group consisting of 6 people. The A.G.I.'s previous mission was to assist wanderers in escaping the Backrooms, but that has since changed after the group came under new leadership; their new goal is reportedly to explore the depths of the Backrooms and discover the secrets within. The group is friendly and willing to trade for weapons and supplies. The A.G.I. has bases in Level 0 and Level 4 that they inhabit in rotations.
The Raiders:

The Raiders are an unorganized group of about 300 people located in Level 1 that is known to plunder other factions for their personal gain. They live in anarchy with a simple hierarchy: the person who kills the most is the best. While there are many flags for the various Raiders bases, they are all united by one symbol, the infamous skull-and-crossbones.

Anarchist Movement of the Backrooms:
The Anarchist Movement of the Backrooms is not a group itself, but a movement used by wanderers who want a Backrooms without any governmental groups controlling it, like the way it was before the establishment of the numerous organizations that exist today; they think that all people are equal and should be equal forever. The ideology of the Anarchist Movement of the Backrooms is anarcho-communist, and their achievement is to eliminate any group with power from the face of the Backrooms forever; likewise, they consider every human being trapped in the Backrooms as equal.

The Clean Few is a fairly unknown group. They are mostly friendly, but try to avoid contact with entities or other humans. They will do almost anything if bribed, and are open to trade. As long as one does not threaten the group, they will remain calm and friendly. It is extremely rare that they let you into their group.
Raven Shield:

Raven Shield is a group of seven unknown people. The group's main goal is to study the Backrooms and protect its inhabitants from the dangerous entities and groups that lie deep within its levels. With their knowledge, they plan to create a way to allow others to experience the psychological horror that each traveler has went through to honor their sacrifices and give light on how dangerous the Backrooms are, all without sacrificing more innocent lives.
The Graces:

During the nineteenth century, a group of people noclipped to the Backrooms. Travelling up what is now known as the Impresario path, they made their way to Level 1009. In 1829, they became known as the Graces, ruled by the Bernadotte Family. When word spread about the effects of Level 1009 (river of almond water, moral standing,) some people were exiled from Level 1009 and forced to climb down the wall. In 1885, when the First was founding the Major Explorer Group, the Graces were the first colony to agree to join. This is the reason why the Impresario G is the most powerful Impresario; the longevity of the office. In the early 1900s, the Graces spoke with the First about creating a form of meeting location for the Consensus of Impresarios. This was completed in 1916.
