Habitats: Level -66, Level 30

Description

A photo of a Hairworm Larva.

The Hairworms are Brain-controlling Parasites that can be found in levels that contains huge amounts of water and Aquatic levels such as Level 30. The Hairworms can enter into the Human Body through The Bald point in the upper part of our heads or Through severe wounds. Once the Parasite has entered into the Human Body, The body will start to show various symptoms — which will be explained in the Effects Thread — which will eventually lead to their death in a very painful way. It was seen that the Parasite can't survive outside of water for long. And their mobility decreases greatly when they are out of water. Hairworms can be killed by stomping on them or with fire. The length of the Fully-Grown Hairworms varies between 5-10 cm and width of 1-2 mm. The Worms contains a a brain-like organ on the top fight side of their bodies. This part also contains small needles used to dive through the flesh and brain tissue. Although Their "Brains" are unevolved, The Hairworms have showed evidences of having low-level intelligence.

Effects

Stage 1

10 — 30 minutes after the parasite enters into the body, The first symptoms start to show up. Firstly, a mild headache begins. If the Worm has entered through a wound, the surrounding area of the wound will get redder and inflate.

Stage 2

At this stage, The Parasite breaks through the Blood-Brain/Skull-Brain barrier and enters into the brain. Muscle Spams starts to happen, and the wanderer slowly starts to lose the control over their muscles. The Brain inflates to encounter the Parasite which causes sensitivity towards light, slower reactions and severe headache. Cysts start to form all over the body. The parasite orders the salivary glands to increase the production of the saliva. The larvae of the Parasite starts to spread around the body. Including organs and body waters. This stage lasts between 30 minutes — 6 hours after the Parasite enters into the body.

Stage 3

At this stage, The personality of the wanderer starts to break down. The body turns into a host for the Parasite. The Wanderer Screams violently before losing all of their memories and mind. After that, a desire to reach to water grows. The body mindlessly wanders around looking for a spot for the parasites to go out. At this stage, the wanderers are extremely violent and aggressive. Cypts explodes and unleashes thousands of larvae. They also spit out saliva filled with larvae of the Worm. When the body finds a safe spot for the worm to go out, the Worms goes out by the bald point in the upper part of the human head while the person drowns. And then the cycle repeats.

Treatment

The person can only be saved while they are in Stage 1. And the only way to do so is to pull the worm back and kill it before it starts leashing larvae. Don't try to save someone if they are in Stage 2 or Stage 3, because there is a very high chance that you can get infected by the Parasite.

Do and Don'ts

Do:

Avoid interaction with one at all costs.

Don't:

Try to treat someone when they are in Stage 2 or 3.
