Chunks of honeycomb in a wooden bowl, wooden background

Afew chunks of neatly cut honeycomb in a wooden bowl

A yellow complex of hexagons made of wax and filled with honey, honeycomb is a sweet and rare substance, sometimes found in Class 4+ Anomalous Levels. It can also be sometimes found in levels higher then 1000, but this is very rare. Honeycomb typically takes a yellow-orange colouration, but it can also be gray(more about this later on). If you see a beehive, you can reach inside and grab some honeycomb, hoping the Bees arn't aggresive; however, most of the time they will be and as seeing a sting from a backroom bee can kill, it is a very risky task to collect it. However, the benifits outwiegh the risks. It can also be found in a packaging of leaves or plastic.

Properties

Honeycomb is a highly valued food, as not only does comsuming it restore the consumers sanity, but it is highly nutritious as it's high in nutrients and natural sugars and it keeps those who consume it fuller longer as well as give them a considerable boost in energy.

Two chunks of honeycomb

It has a side effect, that all bees will be protective of you for around 5 minutes (this is probally because of the honey scent).

Inspite of all of the positive qualities of honeycomb, it is incredibly addictive and exceeding the recommended daily dosage will cause the user to become hopelessly hooked and desperate for more, even willing to go directly to the source and risk their lives. Side effects of overconsumption also include: nausea, vommiting, dizzyness and slowness.

Usage

Because honeycomb is very nutricous, it is very valuable to wanderers. One chunk of honeycomb equals a days meal. It is used in a wide varity of recipies in the Wanderer's Cookbook, such as cake, muffins and icecream. It's honey can be used as a sticky trap and it's wax can be used to protect valuable objects.

Farming

Farming honeycomb is relativly easy, starting a farm is hard. You need to have alot of beehives to satrt one and lots of flowers (which are uncommon in the Backrooms. Then, all you need to do is tame the bees and ta-da! You have a farm. Don't collect honey too often, preferablt once every 2-3 weeks so the hive can produce more
