Description
Entity 131, Jack-O-Lanterns, appear to be pumpkins with faces carved into them. The pulp is replaced by a flame that will burn out after the span of 100 years exactly. How exactly this flame stays lit is unknown, as no wanderer has gotten close enough to find out. Once its victim approaches the Jack-O-Lantern, it will grow a body. The body the Jack-O-Lantern grows can vary, and not all types have yet been discovered, however the most common to grow has been humanoid and spider bodies. It will then begin to chase the victim. If the Jack-O-Lantern catches them, it will then carve its own face into the face of the victim tear a hole in the victim's stomach, and remove all the organs from their body. In some cases, they have been seen removing the skeleton, but this is rare.
After the killing, the Jack-O-Lantern will decapitate the victim and clean up the victim's head from the inside and outside. All reports of a Jack-O-Lantern attack have reported it burning the victim's body, but never the head. After burning the body, it will place a candle inside the head and ignite it using its own flame. It will then go to the nearest porch and place the head next to the door, then the Jack-O-Lantern will move to a porch one house away from the victim and enter a "dormant" state there. Furthermore, approaching a Jack-O-Lantern victim's head will trigger the specific Jack-O-Lantern it was killed. Jack-O-Lanterns are able to be killed if their flame goes out or if they are smashed by a bat. Using Almond Water to put the flame out is recommended. They cannot be killed by firearms.
Biology
Since the entity is too dangerous to go near, no data on its Biology has been discovered aside from its Jack-O-Lantern appearance.
Behavior
The Jack-O-Lantern's behavior can vary. Most have been seen performing "spooky" activities, such as doing an unnerving dance when it encounters another one of it's kin, decorating houses for Halloween on Level 9, or vocalizing a cackling noise after slaughtering its victim. Aside from this, there have been many reports of groups of Jack-O-Lanterns performing rituals. No audio, videos, or even pictures of these rituals has ever been taken, however one report stated that the Jack-O-Lanterns seemed to know they were being recorded, and attacked immediately after they found out. Unfortunately, the Jack-O-Lanterns obtained and burned the phone of the Wanderer who recorded them.
According to further research, Jack-O-Lanterns are more intelligent than what meets the eye. While they cannot understand most human speech, some have been seen speaking and even writing in Amharic, though there has been no cases of any understanding any other language. Jack-O-Lanterns also have groups that are formulated and gathered every October. They have also been seen outside of Level 9 constructing Haunted Houses, which they use as their base. There has currently been no reports of a war breaking out between any of the groups. Once it becomes December, all Jack-O-Lanterns will return to their group's base or go inactive by their house's doorstep on Level 9, where they will be taken in by an Entity or Wanderer residing in said house, and will live in the attic until the month ends.
The Frightening Festival
If you want a better understanding of how this works, viewing the Lifecycle section before reading this is recommended. The Frightening Festival, as the Jack-O-Lanterns call it, is an event that takes place every Thanksgiving. Every November, the Jack-O-Lanterns spread out to different streets to find and collect ingredients for special food to eat for their festival. This festival has rules, which include:
- Do not bring any sort of nut to the Festival.
- Any food made of Pumpkin is forbidden.
- No cackling at the table.
- For the love of the Pumpkin King, do NOT bring your Cone-Spiders to the table.
When the festival begins, every clan of Jack-O-Lanterns will travel somewhere (Location is different every time, though it's usually outside in Level 9 or Level 10) and meet their clan members, performing their signature "spooky dance" when they greet each other. They will then quickly set up a table taken from Level 9, give out the food and start eating and communicating with each other, usually asking questions about life and (sometimes) having them answered by other members of their clan. After they are done eating, they will begin activities, which can range from a game of darts to a game of "Throw the knife at the Victim's head." These "victims" can range from unfortunate wanderers who crossed one of the Jack-O-Lanterns to another Jack-O-Lantern who decided to show up with pumpkin pie. Once the festival is over, all the Jack-O-Lanterns will return to Level 9 and actively hunt for wanderers instead of sitting around on doorsteps to celebrate a successful festival. If a festival were to go wrong for one of the clans, the Jack-O-Lanterns from said clan will go inactive by their doorstep and will refuse to become active until next January. On November 30th, 12:00AM CST, all Jack-O-Lanterns will return to their doorstep and go inactive so they can be taken inside the house when December arrives. This will officially mark the end of the Frightening Festival.
Relationships
Death Moths are known to approach Jack-O-Lanterns in their dormant state, likely because of the flame inside of them. This usually ends with the Death Moth in question getting slaughtered for either "disturbing the peace" or they see other entities as any other victim. Furthermore, a Wanderer witnessed a Jack-O-Lantern slaughtering a Faceling because it offered the Jack-O-Lantern a Pumpkin Pie after the Jack-O-Lantern accidentally noclipped into another level. It's also known that some Jack-O-Lanterns have Cone-Spiders as pets.
Lifecycle
Jack-O-Lanterns appear every October on Level 9's porches. According to witnesses, they are placed down by the residents of Level 9's homes (which can be a wanderer who decided to reside there or an unknown entity) as small pumpkins. After October 1st, at exactly 3:00AM, the Pumpkin will grow in size, and a face will start "carving" itself. At 6:00AM, the face will be carved out fully, and a flame will ignite within the pumpkin. It will not be able to move until the 5th of October. Once it gains the ability to move, it will be taken by another group of Jack-O-Lanterns and given a role in its group entirely depending on its personality and traits. Once in a group, it will not be allowed to leave. After the "meeting", it will return to the porch it was originally on and wait for its next victim. After 18 years, when October begins, the Jack-O-Lantern will be considered fully grown. Once it reaches the end of its life, the bottom part of the Jack-O-Lantern will start to decompose and fade away, leaving only the top part. The flame will go out, and it will sit there until next October begins, where it will be replaced by another Jack-O-Lantern.

Do's and Don'ts
Do
- Carry a bat if you plan to make contact with a Jack-O-Lantern.
- Run from any you might kill, as it will only attract more.
- If one grabs you, use your Almond Water, even if you were planning to save it.
Don't
- Attempt to tame one. They cannot be tamed if they are over 1 day old.
- Shoot them with a gun or any other firearm. They will likely return fire, literally.
- Attack a group of Jack-O-Lanterns, unless you want to attract more.
