Level !-! is a sub-layer of Level !.

Description

A photo of the entrance in Level !-! taken by an unfortunate traveler.

A photo of "The Blue Hallways", Taken by an unknown wanderer.

Level !-! is a sub-layer of Level !. It resembles the "aspect" of Level !, Although It is fairly "different" from Level !, and has varying differences.

Level !-! resembles a long, red hotel hallway consisting of red lights, alarms, and doors, albeit, the doors are typically restricted. It is unknown how long the distance of Level !-! Is. At the very moment you enter this level, you will notice that your mental stability will start decreasing, this means you are losing sanity, do not be afraid, as you can increase your mental stability with almond water, or energy bars. After one starts to gradually lose their sanity, they will notice a ridiculously large horde of entities which typically consists of Deathmoths, Hounds, Rabids, and other unknown entities that are thought to be exclusive to the level, will start chasing them at vast speeds, but worry not, as It is deemed possible to outrun the entities. Every couple miles into this level, there are sections of halls called "Blue Hallways" which contain Almond Water, Energy drinks, Energy bars, And a strange calculator. The so mentioned "Blue Hallways" consist of blue lights, and unlike the rest of the level, has little-to-no entities, Thus, it is feasible to establish a colony or outpost in The Blue Hallways, Which is a surprising relief, as they are practically the safest thing on Level !-!.

As nearly every other level, escaping is not impossible, albeit, It's known to be fairly difficult. There are typically nearly 2 to 3 doors every 2 miles into this level, which each follow into a different level, albeit they may be an escape, it's not advisable to go into these doors, due to the fact that the doors mostly lead to unsafe levels such as Level 3, Level 6, and other such levels, aside from that, in some rare occurrences, One of the doors could send you back to Level !, Thus, Entering the doors is not advisable, albeit if you want to truly escape without the require to have to meet danger, there have only been 2 true and confirmed ways to exits on this level, their deemed name is "The Blue Exit" and "The Exit", It is highly advisable to go to "The Blue Exit" rather than "The Exit", owing to the fact that if you're not fast enough opening "The Exit" Door, You may get a fate that is incredibly worse than death, You'll become one of them, Your fate will be decided. As known, This level is extremely difficult/dangerous, Thus, You should never aim, or have the desire to enter this level, but if you ever have the desire to enter it, I wish you good luck. Supposing that one manages to journey their way through the level for a countless amount of time, They will see a staircase going up, opt to walk the staircase, and it'll lead one onto The Promised Land, Although the staircase is exceedingly onerous to reach, due to the fact that there's no "checkpoint" near it, It's still a good attempt, presuming you want to leave The Backrooms. This level can be a worrying mental hazard, as it can alter your mental stability, which will alter your sanity.

There are environmental hazards which take place in here, which are materials such as venomous carpet fluid, and small puddles of Liquid Pain on the floor. Never run through this level without shoes on, if you touch the liquid pain puddles, you will slowly meet a fate worse than death. There are a couple water fountains across this level, although the water contains Hydrolitis Plague, So it's advisable to not drink the water, although if you have unfortunately drunk the water, try to find an outpost, or The Blue Hallways, and try to obtain Almond Water.

The Blue Hallways

"The Blue Hallways" are "checkpoints" or for a better understanding, they are safe areas located around Level !-!

The Blue Hallways are blue-lighted hallways that are accompanied with Almond Water, energy bars, water, and a calculator. (Sometimes, Other things can appear in The Blue Hallways, although its a rare occurrence.) The Blue Hallways are a good place to create outposts, set colonies, and rest. You should always stop at these hallways, as you're gonna need some of the items in here, If you want to escape that is. You can always find these hallways every 4.5 miles into the level, which is actually decently good, assuming you would be tired by the time you get to one of The Blue Hallways. Sometimes, You can find a bottle of Super Almond Water in The Blue Hallways, (1 in 1e11 chance) although this is extremely rare, so its not worth waiting for one to spawn. If you ever try to noclip through a window here, The Blue Hallways will disappear, which will be very, very unfortunate. There are rarely any entities here, although the only entities that have been found on these hallways haven't been found to be "dangerous". If you travel far enough, you will find "The Blue Exit", The Blue Exit is part of The Blue Hallways, It contains the same properties, although as it name says, You can exit Level !-! From The Blue Exit, Which can be done by walking down the stairs in The Blue Exit, and opening an exit door which will lead to a random level.

  • You can't lose sanity in The Blue Hallways, Your sanity will remain at the point where it was at before you entered a blue hallway.
  • It is feasible to establish outposts or colonies in these blue hallways.
  • Blue hallways are the safest part of Level !-!

[Heavy Breathing continuing for 25 minutes]

...

MONORU>> I can see the exit, It's just a couple miles from here, the entities keep getting closer and closer, Is this a dream? No, I don't know what this is, Another layer of Level ! Wouldn't even have been imaginable to my weak mind, And yet here I am, running from a horde of unknown entities, In a hospital hallway.

[Heavy breathing can be heard for 3 minutes]

MONORU>> The further I go, the more I realize how long this hallway actually is, although there had been other doors that could have been an "Escape", I didn't want to go through them, Because I realized, every level like this has a true exit.

MONORU>> I don't [Continuous Running for a minute] know what level I will be led to through that door miles in front of me, But my only hope is that it's a safe level, I found a single bottle of super almond water, Which is my only hope If I end up on Level Fun.

[Extremely loud noise coming from the entities]

MONORU>> THE ENTITIES ARE CATCHING UP, GOD PLEASE SAVE ME, I REPENT OF EVERYTHING I'VE DONE, PLEASE DON'T LET ME DIE

[A door can be heard being opened]

...

[END LOG]

It is unknown whether Monoru escaped or not.

Entities

Unknown Entities

As one may enter this level, They may swiftly notice the entities, which are thought to be exclusive to this level, as they have only been documented on this level. The unknown entities will as usual, attack you as part of the horde of entities. Some of these "Unknown Entities" may be mistaken as others, as some are just different version of different entities, albeit it doesn't mean that they are safe. As some of the unknown entities can cause mental distress, and psychological damage if you continuously fear them, you should always refrain from having a fearful thought about several of these entities. Don't worry my profoundly loved, It'll be fine, I promise.

the horde of "Unknown Entities" in this level include the following:

  • "The Mother of All Fear" - An entity which chases you faster the more you are afraid of her, and eventually kills you once your sanity is gone.
  • "Liquid Slimes" - A gooey-like entity which is typically made of different liquids in the backrooms such as carpet water, tar, etc. In Level !-!, the liquid slimes are typically made of liquid pain.

Common Entities

One may almost immediately notice the horde of entities behind them, which typically consists of various threatening entities, which are well-known to all wanderers in the backrooms. The horde of common entities typically consists of:

Sanity

Sanity will decrease quickly in this level, any wanderer who enters this level should be mindful of that. Sanity is treated sort of like a "health bar" in Level !-!

One should always make sure to stop and relax when they reach The Blue Hallways, as they contain almond water, energy bars, and more, which can increase one's sanity. If your sanity ever goes out, you will be hunted by "The Mother of All Fear", Everywhere you go, and you will become one of them, don't be afraid, your fate will be decided, you will be happy. As to understand what sanity is, proceed to read the following: "What Is Sanity?" Sanity is the ability to think and behave in a normal and rational manner; sound mental health, The more it goes down, the more insane you become, In Level !-!, Sanity takes an important place. You can replenish your sanity with Almond Water bottles found throughout the map, which are more commonly found on The Blue Hallways, or you can slow down how quick your sanity goes down by calming down.
