Level Screamdoors is one of the most dangerous and oddball levels in The Backrooms, that only few escaped, nearly never without any detriment...

Description

Level Screamdoors is described as an endless maze of hotel hallways, that consist of 3 different floor types connected by Staircases. Whole hallways are full of locked doors and a lot of common The Frontrooms objects, mostly like fire axes, glass bootles, knifes, hammers, shovels, fire extinguishers and even rarely revolvers, that makes this level full of weapons. You can find there some of typical for The Frontrooms drinks and food like water or orange juice, bread, apples and bars. Also there are no Backrooms items with exception of Almond Water. Most unique thing about Screamdoors is that, it have its own and different from other Backrooms levels nature, sanity losing system functions completely different from normal one, instead of regenerating your sanity by special areas and objects like Almond Water, you are slowly go through sanity lost stages. Every way of sanity restoration does not work here, and going insane does not turn you into Wretches, instead of caring about your mind, you need to leave this place as fast as possible by finding rare unlocked door before going completely insane or getting killed by someone, who's already insane...

Main Floors

Main Floors are the most common floor type in Screamdoors, these are long yellow hotel corridors with brown carpet and big amount of yellow doors. This is a part of level, that nearly always you will start in by entering Screamdoors, also nearly always alone. There are not to many objects around its hallways, mostly you can find there fire extinguishers and fire axes. This is a silent place of isolation, its hard to find someone else here, like in Level 0, but still with way higher chance.

The Staircase

Staircase is a randomly generated structure around whole Screamdoors, that functions as a connector between all floors. Lenght of The Staircase is random beetween 5 to 23 floors connecting at once. Longest documented Staircase was connecting 69 floors.

Meet Floor

Meet Floor, other known as Killing Floor is the most dangerous and second common floor type in whole Screamdoors. These are thin, concrete hallways in shade of yellow, its full of weapons, mostly like fire-axes or shovels and a lot of food and water around. Unlike other floors, its very easy to find here random wanderers, so it makes this floor highly dangerous due to very high chance of encounter with random insane wanderer and rewarding because of the biggest amount of objects around. Also entering Screamdoors can sometimes lead you on this floor type.

The Bottom

The Bottom is the floor that can be found only at the bottom of The Staircases. It looks like a bright concrete hallways with white walls and gray shiny floor. The Bottom is the only one floor without any objects spawning around, not including abandoned one's by wanderers. Also there are not to much doors around in compare to other floors. As well, its easier to encounter random wanderer, so that makes this place second most dangerous in Screamdoors. Walls here amplify sounds heavily, so that makes everything very loud, you can hear other wanderers screaming and running even when they are kilometres away from you. Also doors at The Bottom seems to have way higher chance of being unlocked.

Insanity stages

About Insanity

Every minute in Screamdoors leads you slowly to insanity, you need to find way out before completely losing your mind, and that's not easy task that depends of your mental and physical fitness or just luck. After leaving Screamdoors you will slowly regenerate your sanity, also being completely resistant of changing to Wretcher for around 24 hours, so its enough of time to restore sanity with appropriate resources. A lot of peoples leave this level with constant mental disorders, mostly phobias (especially fear from long hallways) but sometimes paranoia, depression, memory loss or in very bad and rare cases even Psychosis or Schizophrenia. But it mostly depends at what stage of insanity you leave Screamdoors, leaving at stage I-III mostly don't cause any mental problems, but there are some of rare exceptions. Sreamdoors can change your adventure in backrooms forever, leaving you weaker at this dangerous place...

Stage I

  • Time of spent in: 45 minutes
  • Symptoms: Malaise, dizziness
  • Description: wanderers are slowly begin tired by this place, they become a bit rude and weary.

Stage II

  • Time of spent in: 2,2 hours
  • Symptoms: Same as before and: memory problems, anxiety
  • Description: Wanderers sometimes forget what they were doing or saying in last seconds, this place starts being uncomfortable for them.

Stage III

  • Time of spent in: 4 hours
  • Symptoms: Same as before and: Feeling of being observed, disorientation, lost sense of time
  • Description: Peoples on this stage are a bit chaotic, they are stressed and scared, what makes them very disoriented, they get lost more easily.

Stage IV

  • Time of spent in: 6 hours
  • Symptoms: Same as before and: Hallucinations, Paranoid, random and strong explosions of emotions, high disorientation, Cleithrophobia(fear of getting trapped)
  • Description: Wanderers on this stage start seeing friends, family, monsters and other things. They are very emotional that causes random screams of fear, crying, laughing, talking to themselves and singing, they mostly trying to escape by force using found objects. Hallucinations sometimes can cause hurting others or mostly panic attacks in a kind of runnig, crying and screaming due to beliefs of being chased by something.

Stage V

  • Time of spent in: 8,5 hours
  • Symptoms: Same as before and: Psychosis, a lot of hallucinations, Schizophrenia, hyperactivity, difficulty of assessing the situation
  • Description: Explorers from this stage are more aggressive, they have problems with distinguish reality from their imagination, so it can cause hurting themselfs sometimes, frequent panic outbreaks and attacking others.

Stage VI

  • Time of spent in: 10 hours
  • Symptoms: Same as before and: high aggression, lost of feeling pain, Memory loss, problems with logical thinking, inability to judge the situation
  • Description: At this stage wanderers forgets about escaping, they don't know where they are or what they doing, sometimes they hurt themselfs or even suisides, its seems that its nearly impossible to talk with them and every try of communication ends by confrontations. This is part when peoples are no longer themselfs.

Mind's dead/Stage VII

  • Time of spent in: 12 hours
  • Symptoms: Completely mind lost and madness, full memory loss, extreme aggression, high hyperactivity, loss of personality
  • Description: Its impossible to communicate with peoples on this stage, they turned to nearly personality less psychopaths, that trying to chase down and kill everybody who they see. They no longer think about finding way of escape, they behave very brutally as if without emotions. Wanderers who reach this stage can't come back to mind stability.
Colonies and Outposts

Due to Screamdoors oddball and dangerous nature, creating colonies and outposts here is impossible.

Entities

Existance of entities in this level is questionable, there is a general assumption that there are no any here, but due to insanity stages, relations from wanderers are not clear, so we can't say that any of hallucinations are actually hallucinations. Only proof to devoid of entities are big numbers of videos and audios taken by wanderers, all of them have no entities recorded.

Exits

  • You can exit this level only by finding unlocked door, going through them mostly will lead you to Level 4, The Hub, Level 332, second section of Level 2003, also there was 4 documented wanderers who appeared in Level 37.3
  • Or by going through extremely rare metal door in color of red or orange on The Bottom, it will lead you to Level !, better don't use them
  • Also, don't try nocliping, its not possible at this level

Woulter: Its a game for a time that tests your mental and physical endurance, rules are simple get out as fast as possible by finding unlocked door before everething will go wrong... I think i can compare this place to "The shining", whoever is listen me right now, if you know this movie, you can understand me very well... Yes it looks definitevely like this, you need to be ready to encounter crazy man with fire axe that will try to chop you down, or if you spent too much time here, you will end as a crazy man with axe...

Woulter: What would you do if you met angry man with shovel in corridor? You will probably try to run away... well, good luck... hallways are very long here, so its very hard to loss anyone here... maybe you can outrun him, maybe, but who knows? So the answer is to fight back, but are you better? Do you have better weapon? Also its not an entity that you can just trick and run away, your enemy can sneak on ya, hide and wait for his victim, make a trap, he can use weapons, he can think! I-its a confrontation with other human, you have no recipe that would save you if you followed every point... Expect everything, your life depends of how strong are you. Defending yourself is not easy when this place slowly makes you insane, paranoid, madness...madness and madness, never ending stress and fear... can you stand this?

Woulter: So while entering here you need to forget everything your learnt in Backrooms, it will just not work here. You were sended to place where you need to fight with yourself and others, there is nothing as dangererous as an enemy who can be just stronger version of yourself...Think! Man can trick you, he can shot you down, he can outrun you and many other things that no of the entities can't... You need to be faster, stronger, smarter and luckier... You have 12 hours to escape, i escaped after 9, at least my watch says it... The only things i remembered are some bodies, fear, man shouting and chasing me with fire axe, noise of gun shots and thousands of pressed door handles. I forgot everything else...

Woulter: You know why this place is named Screamdoors? Sometimes you can hear someone screaming from fear... somewhere far away, or this place sometimes makes you scream from Insanity...

Description: Encounter with Insane wanderer who escaped "Screamdoors"



Group of 8 wanderers encountered man entering "The Hub" by one of the doors, armed with a revolver, he triggered skirmish in what he shot down 5 of them, rest escaped for help. After half of hour, group of armed wanderers was trying to captivate an insane man, while he accidentally shot himself and died. Stranger was acting very aggresive and chaotic, he was trying to scare away wanderers by shouting and screaming at them, he showed symptoms of severe psychosis. Due to this tragic accident, every doors found in "The Hub" that lead to level "Screamdoors" are protected from now. 5 was discovered and secured from now.
