Description
The first image of Level ↑. What’s creepy about this image, is that the photographer claimed to see a long and straight hallway when he took this photo. This image is for reference only, because Level ↑ looks different for everyone.
Level ↑ is a level that can defy laws of physics, deteriorate your vision and even sanity if stayed here for too long. It resembles the shopping mall you’ve last visited in The Frontrooms, but without any shops or restaurants, just the same ceiling, floor and walls. Level ↑ consists of long hallways, measured approximately 120 km in total. In naked eyes, Level ↑ looks like a long and straight hallway at first glance, and you can walk straight without bumping into any walls. However, as shown in the photo, it is actually a hallway with some, actually, a lot of turns. In other words, the turns in Level ↑ can only be observed in a camera. This results in entities being able to look like they appear out of thin air, but really they just turned around a corner. Entities in Level ↑ are mainly Smilers, with a small percentage of other backrooms entities. Although Level ↑ looks different for everyone, its layout remains the same.
The Safe Zone of Level ↑
The first image of the Safe Zone of Level ↑. Again, this image is only for reference.
The Safe Zone of Level ↑ is extremely hard to find, due to the vision deteriorating effect of the level. To access this area, find a slightly brighter part of the wall. You can directly walk through it and access the area. Attempting to find this part of the wall by leaning your body to the wall throughout your whole journey or anything like that will not work, as the level can detect you cheating. The Safe Zone of Level ↑ resembles another part of the mall, the one in The Frontrooms. This area looks and feels more comfortable, and is completely devoid of entities. This area acts as a resting place for wanderers to restore their sanity, and therefore you cannot exit the level from here. You should avoid doors if any appear in this area, because they are known to take you to an unknown and extremely unsafe level. To go back to the main area of Level ↑, simply go through the wall you entered from.
The Lost Clip
This is a digital recreation of the broken clip in the video recorder. The video played for a few seconds only before the screen blacked out.
A few days after the discovery of Level ↑, an old video recorder was found in another level. It is unknown exactly where this video recorder was found, because (DATA EXPUNGED). The only video found inside is what believes to be one taken in Level ↑, but the video file was severely corrupted, therefore not much can be seen in the video. The video was believed to be taken for drawing a layout map of this level, as there was an empty sheet of paper the wanderer found along with the video recorder.
Colonies and Outposts
Due to the nature of this level, colonies and outposts are unable to be established.
Entrances and Exits
Entrances
You can noclip here in levels above 100 when least expected, except for levels that contain exits to The Frontrooms.
Exits
To exit the level, you either have to:
- Run the whole 120 kilometers (74.6 miles),
- Run at least 60 kilometers (37.3 miles) and kill at least 2 entities, or
- Kill 4 entities.
After fulfilling any of the requirements, you will be teleported back to the level you came from, and the Backrooms will never send you back here again. You can also exit the level by entering doors in the Safe Zone, but this is not recommended.
