Level -! is one of the most dangerous levels of the Negative Levels.
Description

The start of Level -! consists of a wooden hallway with dirt floors, and no ceiling. The sky is a dark, crimson red, and it never changes. While the beginning starts out like the original counterpart, it quickly changes into something different, all yet keeping the same feel of the original counterpart. At the end of the first hallway is a sharp turn to either the right or the left, followed by another long hallway and repeating. At the end of the 20th hallway is a stockless double barrel shotgun on a small wooden table, and on the right side of that hallway is a locked metal door. Each hallway is about 1km in length, and you start at the end of the 10th hallway, with Entities at the halfway point of the hallway. The wood that makes up the walls of this level are very, very tall, meaning it can't be climbed over.
Upon entering this level, one will immediately notice the massive horde of unknown entities running at them. The objective is similar to that of the original; run as fast as you can away from the entities to the end. However, when you reach the end, in front of you will lie a double barrel shotgun on a wooden table, and the metal exit door on your right. It is locked with a massive padlock of an unknown material, but it is believed to be tungsten. The door is also made of the same material. You cannot no-clip through the metal door, doing so will put one into The Void. The only known way of escaping is by using the key from killing the entities. The only way to do so is to use the double barrel shotgun on the table, that has 16 spare shells. If you use up all the shells, more shells will spawn in your pocket. These shells only appear in this level and all other Level ! variants. Once you unlock the door and walk through it, you will be sent to any Class 0 level.
When you leave the level, you will have all your items that you previously entered with, as you lose your items when you get teleported here. You will also have the double barrel shotgun, but the ammo will no longer automatically replenish.
Colonies and Outposts
Due to the harsh nature of this level, creating a colony/outpost is impossible.
Entrances and Exits
Entrances
- At any point in time, one can get sent here while in the Backrooms.
- Going through the metal door surrounded by spiked fences in The Hub. Strangely enough, this level does not require a Level Key,
- Noclipping in any level can send you here, though it is more likely you'll get sent into The Void
- If you spend an unknown amount of time in Level !, you can also get teleported here, much less likely than getting teleported to Level X.
Exits
- Reaching the end of the hallway and slaying all the entities after you, retrieving the key and going through the metal door to your right.
- In very rare circumstances, the metal door will be already open. If this is the case, simply go through and you'll be transported to a safe level.
- Noclipping through the metal door, which leads into the void. (Not recommended)
- Noclipping through a forest like door will bring someone to a safe level. (Impossible)
