Level -169 is the -170th level of the Backrooms.
Description
!!!WARNING!!!
If one is to enter this level it is utmost CRUCIAL that you call the M.E.G. hotline when Wi-Fi is available in the summertime season during the day-time. If you are sadly unable to contact us; Then may God be with you. In addition to this; DO NOT trust everything the dossier on Level -169 says as inhabitants are editing it!
Upon Entering
One will start the level in a old dug-out 19x19x8 square of green sandbags covered by a connected pallet roof with a lot of poncho liners bearing UCP Camouflage covering the top. This is the safest part of the area being free of Skin-Stealers and is commonly roamed by "The Boots" from Level 929. This area has almond water collectors and stowage alongside reappearing M.R.E. boxes that restock every 6 hours. Who said you had to complete the level? You can just stay here. After all it's the great place! And very possibly skin any new Wanderer to appease the Skin-Stealers so they stay outside where they belong.
Environment
Outside the dug-out foxhole at the beginning is a green rain-forest riddled with happily shedded bodies and Concertina wire. However the environment changes every 2 hours by season. The forest seems to range infinitely despite having a invisible wall every 300 meters in the opposite direction of the Constantine wire. The level also reacts accordingly to the weather such as; The trees dying due to winter and coming back to life in summer, the ground being covered in snow and the concertina wire becoming frosted over.
Lay-Out
Level -169 is a living hell which forces people to go through an obstacle course of concertina wire. There isn't much to describe here other than noting the bodies of both wanderers and entities that litter the bundles of wiring. Imagine a maze but with concertina wire! Here every way of passage barely has 3 feet (1 meter) of space to traverse in with a turn appearing generally every 5-15 meters. This place isn't at all forgiving and anyone will figure that out fairly quickly. This maze is 1 mile (1.6 kilometres) and has over 100 sharp turns, 40 crawl spaces (which you have to crawl through) and 12 Concertina dug-out pits going down to around 90 feet/ 30 meters of pure Concertina wire just waiting to eat you up (which you also have to jump over and evade) in this all-so-lovely place. Why don't you just dance to ease your burden of having skin?
Objective
SHED! Ones objective in Level -169 is to make their way to the end without being spotted by a Skin Walker. It is unknown what happens to such person, though, it's believed they get slashed up by Concertina Wire, go insane or fall into a death pit full of sharp objects.
Weather Cycle
This place has a 30 minute long "day-light" time & 1 hour long night cycle that changes- -kinda like how one flicks a light switch. you know you don't want your skin But alas this has yet to be the worst of it all. Every 2 hours the weather will change and it is always from one extreme to another and the weather always goes in this order;
- When it rains; Water will rise up to 3 feet (1 meter). There is a 65% chance of it raining Almond Water, a 20% chance to rain a clear liquid (likely the blood of Skin-Stealers)and a 15% chance to rain Liquid Pain.
- Afterward it will fog and temperatures will be somewhat stable despite visibility being poor.
- Then there will be a heatwave that goes up to 105°. (Bring forms of hydration!)
Just shed! - Then it will snow reaching below -20°. Good luck.
- AND THEN it all repeats itself.
But we can avoid this.
Keep in mind that each 'Season' changes every 2 hours!
Extra Special Properties
- The Skin-Stealers won't try to maul you if they're busy on someone else that is unless you get their attention or bug them.
Hug them, embrace them, they only wish to help you. - The Obstacle course does shift every 25 minutes and randomly within the night cycle.
- Wi-Fi is NOT usable here.
You won't need it for much longer, or ever again. - Sanity begins to drain away from an individual after the first 2 hours and after the first 48 hours damage will be irreparable. Please drink Almond Water if you begin to feel strange, hear and or see things you shouldn't or develop the urge to suddenly
embrace the wire to shed free yourself from the cocoon you label as skin. - One does not feel pain here yet people who have stayed over 6 hours have reported an itchy feeling under the skin..
- Those who have body dysphoria are the utmost prone to suicide in this level as the cognitive hazards caused by this level twist their feelings into a horrendous spiral.
You're an idiot if you got in here by Level 929.
Entities
Skin-Stealers are commonly seen roaming about the Obstacle Course on the other side (and uncommonly on the inside with you) and are collecting skin off of those who have recently perished due to horrible lacerations. However; These cute guys won't attack you if they're currently on another body as a corpse is generally easier to work on compared to one which is still functional, at the moment. However this will change if you get their attention in which you will be chased and Skin-Stealers from the outside of the obstacle course will attempt to grab you and pull you through the concertina wire. (Ouch!)
Wormlings have been seen from time to time but mostly in the corpses of those who are skin free.
A bundle of Concertina Wire laying in the corner of the starting area.
Do's and Don'ts
Do
- Lay down & be quiet when it becomes dark.
- Move slowly when a turn appears.
- Gather as many supplies as possible before stepping off.
Don't
- Run in the maze unless absolutely necessary.

To avoid Level -169
Don't fall or no-clip into any wire used for defending places, keeping people in or keeping people out. This level serves as a form of natural selection. Unlike surviving Level !: this level will just get you called an idiot if you survive it and decide to brag about it. YOU'LL BE A LEGEND
Colonies and Outposts
!!!WARNING!!!
DO NOT TRUST THE 1ST CONCERTINA PLATOON! RUN!
1st Concertina Platoon
Is a group of individuals who were once apart of "The Boots" Alpha Company in Level 929. As of recently they have been labeled AWOL (Absent without leave) and have also been reported to be staying within this very level at the starting point. Not many people survive this level to tell their tales.
There is also rumored to be a group of skin-stealers who are willing to trade various items for various other reasonable items your lovely skin. Do NOT interact with them. DO IT, EMBRACE THEM.

Sorry I felt like writing something edgy that reminded me of every time I had to work with Concertina Wire in the Army.
