Level -182 is the 182nd negative level of the Backrooms.
Contents
Description
According to the provided images, level -182 consists of the inside of a young girl's bedroom shortly after dusk. The bedroom consists of a dresser, two nightstands, a closet, a bed cluttered with plushies and pillows, and a big cage designated for a small animal.
Limited Sources of Light
Three light sources dimly illuminate the room. Source one is the color-changing alarm clock. When entering this space, the clock starts at 7:10 p.m. and ends at 7:16 p.m. before resetting the time back to 7:10 p.m.
Source two is a purple light from somewhere in the hallway. The exact source of this purple light cannot be confirmed as anyone who has ventured beyond the door’s threshold has never returned. Any communication or recording devices that have been taken beyond the door’s threshold cease to function. Rescue attempts for those who have ventured beyond the door’s threshold have failed. If you find yourself in this space, it is recommended that you do not venture beyond the door’s threshold.

Source three is the “world outside”. It is worth noting here that the “world outside” the “windrow” is perpetually two hours after dusk during the winter solstice. The “windrow” shown in the provided image is the only “windrow” present in this room. Ideally, you should keep the blinds closed on this "entity" and avoid interacting with it at all costs. The window entity never manifests a visible shadowy figure on the other side of the “glass”. This entity has reportedly spoken. It attempts to lure or scare wanderers by tapping, thumping, scratching, and rattling on the “glass” and “frame”.
Other light sources brought into level -182 will not work and will resume normal function once you exit level -182.
Miranda’s Journal
Miranda is gone. The only indication that this girl has existed is a rainbow-colored, wired-bound journal found under the mountains of plushies and pillows she kept on her bed. Investigators believe she was at least 14 - 16 years old. Her diary revealed stress about high school, crushes, her favorite teachers, her friends, those stupid “mean” girls, her annoying little brothers, Astrid and Ashley, her hamster Dana, volunteering, sleepovers, amine, joining her first club, and the fear of learning how to drive. Her journal also revealed distressing incidents that occurred in her room at night. Below are examples of what she experienced…
Journal Log 1- Date: [Redacted] There it is again! I swear to God! There is something at my window. No one believes me! The moment I turn off the lights to go to sleep… I hear whispers coming from over there. I am not opening those blinds. The last time I went over to them, I felt like I was being watched..
Journal Log 2 - Date: [Redacted] I got this clock. My little sh*t brothers found it. My brothers teased me for needing a nightlight. Yes! It has a nightlight function on it. Sue me! I cannot sleep. It is not like I can run and cry to my parents because something is peeking out at me from my closet at night. I swear I woke one night to it hovering at the foot of my bed! The rattling at my windrow is getting worse. I heard it call my name.

Journal Log 3 - Date: [Redacted] There was this strange purple light coming in from the hallway. I had this sinking feeling to not go to the door. I knew something was out there! I asked my parents if they placed a purple light out in the hall. They exchanged concerned looks. I bet they think I am crazy. I know what I saw! I asked my brothers about it… I do not know why… they both laughed at me. If it was not them, they will possibly use this situation to prank me at some point.
Journal Log 4 - Date: [Redacted] Astrid and Ashley were hiding under my bed. They scared me… GET OUT OF MY ROOM, you little sh*ts!!
Journal Log 5 - Date: [Redacted] I fell asleep in class for the fifth time now. I was called to the guidance counselors office. My teachers, friends, and parents are getting concerned. H*ll… even my little brothers did not pick me with me this time. I feel like trash. I dread going to bed. I cannot tell them what is going on. They will think I am crazy. I possibly am. I saw writing all over my room in a language I did not know. The windrow whispered to me, “Be not afraid.”
Journal Log 6 - Date: [Redacted] I woke to it again. My nightlight was not plugged in. My closet door was wide open. I swear there is a void in there. It was sitting on the foot of my bed. It was staring at me. I stared back at it. I stayed up the rest of the night to stare at it. I stayed up until it vanished with sunrise. I hate this room! It is getting closer.
Journal Log 7 - Date: [Redacted] I decided to investigate what was in my closet last night... I regret everything! I do not know what the f*ck I saw, but I cannot unsee it, and I do not want to see it again. I tied my closet doors shut. I can hear it scratching against the doors.
Journal Log 8 - Date: [Redacted] My parents forced me to talk to a specialist. All I could say was that I am having insomnia. I cannot tell them why!! If I told them the truth, they would have me committed! They gave me some sleeping aids. I regret taking them. I forgot to tie my closet door shut. Last night was closest that thing was to me.
Journal Log 9 - Date: [Redacted] The purple light is back. The voices from the windrow and the writing on the walls are telling me, “Be not afraid. Come out. Come out or we will come in.”
Journal Log 10 - Date: [Redacted] I woke up to Astrid and Ashley in my bed. They were asleep. They came with little plastic swords. They do make cute little bodyguards... I saw the purple light again. I would have woken them up, but I did not want to scare them. If something is coming, I rather it... they... just took me.
Journal Log 11 - Date: [Redacted] I saw the purple light again, but this time it went out. I had this feeling I needed to close the door. Panic shot through my body as I stood up and raced to the door. I saw nothing out there. I knew something was there as I slammed the door shut. I felt isolated, like this room and myself was the only thing that now exist. Something is out here!! I can hear it breathing against the door.
Journal Log 12 - Date: [Redacted] If you are reading this, I surrendered. I saw the purple light. I went out. I had to...
Whatever happened to Miranda after she left out of her room and into the lit hall cannot be confirmed. She was presumed taken. She never specifics why she had to go out there. It is unclear what happened to the "world outside" after she departed. What is clear is her room now possesses several anomalous characteristics.
Experiencing Miranda’s Room
- If you stay in her room past the first 6-minute cycle, you will experience hallucinations, paranoia, anxiety, and the feeling you are being watched.
- If you stay in her room past the second 6-minute cycle, you will hear the window entity tapping, trumping, scratching, and rattling the glass and frame.
- If you stay in her room past the third 6-minute cycle, you will hear something trying to get out of her closet. Her closet is tied shut, as mentioned in her journal. Wanderers who entered her room are encouraged to leave it sealed.
- If you stay in her room past the fourth 6-minute cycle, you will see the purple light come on in the hallway.
- If you stay in her room past the fifth 6-minute cycle, you will see the writing on her walls and hear the window entity whisper, “Be not afraid. Come out. Come out, or we will come in.”
- If you stay in her room past the sixth 6-minute cycle, you will see the purple light go off in the hallway. It would be in your best interest to close the door from this point on. If you have not located the exits, you should consider finding them as soon as possible.
- If you stay in her room past the eighth 6-minute cycle, it is assumed that whatever was out in the hallway got in and claimed their victim.
If you find yourself in level -182, it is recommended that you locate the exits before you get to the 48 minutes mark.
