Level -419 is a negative level that resembles an (albeit clean) New York subway train. While it's mostly devoid of any other human lifeforms, it does contain numerous Facelings, adult ones that simply exhibit normal human behavior when on a subway train. These can range from sitting on the seats lining the walls or gripping onto the overhead bars. While there is an exterior to the train, there is no documented way to escape Level -419 through the windows or doors. Storage devices are common within Level -419, from purses to entire suitcases. While most of them contain useless items that will neither help or hinder anyone should they find themselves here; some contain bottles of Almond Water, small food items like granola bars or beef jerky, or helpful electronic devices like batteries. Level -419 is often used by weary travelers to rest, as sleeping is safe and food and Almond Water is plentiful. However, it may take multiple "days" to find an escape, as entryways to other levels are few and far between.

On rare occasions, the train may stop at a station. No two stations are alike, and the train will never stop at the same station twice. Some settlements have been set up on stations, however these are often temporary campsites for explorers heading back to The Hub. Stations often contain vending machines which dispense cans of Almond Water and potato chips, the latter of which exhibiting the strange characteristic of being completely blank, white bags containing any number of flavor, which will usually be marked on the bag with black Arial text. While regular flavors many would expect to be featured within potato chip bags are present, some unusual flavors discovered by explorers include:

  • Almond (said to taste of Almond Water)
  • Charcoal
  • Battery acid
  • Mold
  • Meat (said to taste like cooked beef)
  • Ice cream (most commonly said to taste of either vanilla, chocolate or mint chocolate chip)
  • Color (causes immediate discharge of colored vomit, the exact color of which depends on the hue of the individual chips)

The train will leave the station after about 10 minutes, so extended periods of stay are highly discouraged.

Confirmed Entities

  • Adult Facelings, as stated previously, are often found here and will stand or sit around the train without paying any notice to survivors.
  • Smilers are often seen in the dark train tunnels outside Level -419's confines, however do not make any attempt to attack the train or it's inhabitants. They seem to thrive in the dark depths outside, and Smiler nests make up most of the view should you decide to look out the windows.
