Level 9997 is the 9998th level of The Backrooms. Level 9997 consists of a place that looks like the original Level 0. It has the same characteristics, of the mono-yellow ambient, the buzz of the lights, and the size is consistent too. However, it isn't the same as Level 0, since a lot of the rooms can vary from the properties to size, lightning, and even color.

Backstory
"After 3 days in Level 188, I decided to explore a bit more into its windows. I swear, I spent 3 hours trying to find a different window that I haven't seen before, but I couldn't. After it, I determined that instead of seeing the windows, I would search for something on the doors. After some time, I found an old wooden door, and behind that door was Level 0.. or not? I'm exploring it now, but some things seem off, Level 0 was pretty different than whatever I'm experiencing. If something happens, I will keep you all updated. Description

As said before, Level 9997 resembles a lot of Level 0 and its characteristics. Probably, you will be confused the first time you enter this level, you may have some events of deja vú, flashbacks, and others. It has the same intentions as Level 0, but it differs. To know if you are in Level 9997, there are a lot of floating doors that lead to nowhere, lights that are not working, and some pieces of wallpaper that are slightly purple. Also, due to the rarity of this level, it has fewer colonies.
At this level, although it is very difficult to find resources, some rooms have stocks of food (uncooked, cooked, and canned), regular water, raw and boiled almond water, cashew water, weapons, flashlights, sleeping bags, and journals. Since Level 9997 is a pretty hard level to keep your sanity in good quantities, it's always recommended to keep track of what you're doing in a journal, and keeping high quantities of boiled almond water with you. Don't forget your sleeping bag.
That "Stockrooms" are indicated by a dark wooden door with smooth concrete red walls outside. It is theorized that these rooms only appear once in 36 square kilometers, but it needs better documentation. Inside, the items are on top of normal wood pallets, and the rooms have approximately 121 square meters (11 m x 11 m).

If you find parts of Level 9997 without light and with very destroyed carpet, wallpaper, walls, etc., you are next to the habitat of an entity. Run in the opposite direction and don't try to go there again, as it has probably noticed that someone was nearby. Once it sees you, good luck.
This level has a bad Wi-Fi connection, but sometimes you can connect with other people well. Due to the variety of the level, there aren't many outposts and/or colonies, because it is very hard to get supplies and it's somewhat dangerous considering the entities. The most common weapon that appears in this level are knives, rarely, you can also find katanas and Desert Eagles.
Colonies and Outposts
There aren't many colonies or outposts in this level, and many of them are unconfirmed, such as "The Great 22". Below, it's only the confirmed ones. If you are at this level, feel free to expand this section.
Republic of Level 153
- Pretty experienced, have already explored The Backrooms and created colonies on a lot of levels to help explorers.
- Provides people with supplies, such as food and water.
- Imports food from other rooms to help other ones.
- They have around 25 members only in this level but are present on other ones.
- They have existed for a long time, one of the most well-known colonies around The Backrooms.
- Also, they (try to) eradicate every entity.
- Has outposts on Level 0, Level 0.00, Level 1, Level 2, Level 4, Level 147, Level 305, Level 1203, Level 1205, Level 3496, and Level 234. It also has a security force in the Snackrooms to ensure that they have a trade advantage.
Peace State
- They have approximately 30 members, the biggest colony at this level. They had 40 but 10 of them were killed by entities or went to another level.
- They are very friendly, accept other people to live with them, and are open to trades.
- 1/3 of them go out to get food, water, and other objects, while the rest protect the place where they live.
- All the old members carry weapons, and they get more weapons to the new ones.
- It is unknown if they also established colonies at other levels.
- They are at this level for about 5 years.
Members Only
- They aren't friendly, but will only attack if they are attacked first.
- They have about 15 members, most of whom are between 20-25 years old.
- Not very open to trades, only if you have something valuable.
- They haven't established colonies in other levels.
- It is unknown why they are there, or what are their reason.
Entities
Skin-Stealers
Normally they won't attack you, only if you touch them. To guarantee you won't die to them, don't go to the places where it isn't well illuminated, since they reside in that places. To differentiate a skin-stealer and a normal human, skin-stealers have completely transparent blood. Humans, as you might know, have red blood (if you don't have, I'm sorry).
Smilers
Extremely violent, also inhabit dark places on Level 9997. If you think you saw one, don't stay there, run. If you find a nest with eggs inside, also run. The mother may be near, and they will be very protective with the eggs. Don't try to react to their attacks too, just accept your future as a rug.
Facelings
Quite peaceful, as there are only adult facelings in this level. There were reports of child facelings that attacked habitants of Level 9997, but none of them were confirmed, and they are presumed to be dead. Also, don't attack them, if it wasn't obvious at this point. You might know what happens next.
Entering Level 9997
If you aren't careful, you may no-clip directly from Level 0 to here. If you see a wallpaper store on Level 234 or Level 11, don't go on the storage behind, because it will make you go to this level. You can also go from Level 6.1 directly to here, more specifically on the "Stockrooms". You may also enter here from Level 221, because both levels are pretty similar. If you consume a psychodelic mushroom on Level 150 and you have a "bad trip", you will also get here.
Exiting Level 9997
To exit Level 9997, you can go to a pitch black room that will lead you to Level 221 again. If you find stairs, don't go there. You will go to Level 219, a very difficult level. If you find a desktop (very rare), open cmd on the search bar and type escapeeverything, you will go to The End. By entering a pinkish door here, you'll be transported to Level 289. If you die in this level, you will wake up in level 9998.
