Apart from very rare instances, most rooms contain nothing but the stink of old moist carpet, the madness of mono-yellow and the endless background noise of fluorescent lights at maximum hum-buzz. Level 0 is estimated to be 1 million square miles large.
Although Level 0 is mostly made up of randomly segmented rooms, hallways; flights of stairs; and wide, open areas can be found occasionally. It is by far the safest level. Beings can be found lurking around here, albeit rarely, usually lured out by hermits on the edge of Level 0 or groups of people. It is extremely rare to see anything other than a hound or duller.
Some people report there being no light when they arrive yet there is still carpet.
Colonies and Outposts
There are currently 5 known colonies and outposts on Level 0 of the backrooms.
Has heavily armed security guarding the colony from entities.
Led by John who acts as the mayor.

Has a transportation system travelling to the hub.
open to trade survival equipment, like night vision goggles, almond water, first aid kit, etc.

Leaving Level 0
To leave level 0, you typically must simply Get fucked in the ass by one of the beings there. After around a month or so Level 0 will progress into Level 1, although movement speed and simply luck can greatly influence how long it takes.
It's also possible to enter the Negative levels from Level 0. Entrances can be found in the form of off-color, or darker walls. These darker walls are most common on level 0, but can still be found on a few other levels. It is unadvised to go through these entrances unprepared.
