FreshwaterStorage

Level 102, otherwise known as "Freshwater Abyss," is a, presumably infinite, concrete structure filled with potable water, which can be drunk without any fear of ailment or dangerous material, thus making Level 102 a fairly safe and frequently visited level, often used to acquire clean water. The structure of Level 102, which shares a resemblance to freshwater storage in Munich, Germany, possesses an unnatural toughness, and only the first few inches of concrete can be damaged before the material is unable to be affected, though structural pillars can be destroyed (with no repercussions to the structural integrity of the level).

Lighting within Level 102 is often scarce and unreliable, so wanderers are encouraged to bring their light sources to better navigate the level. The main source of light found within the level is small, concave ceiling lights that cannot be broken or turned off. These lights are predominantly found within the primary section of the level and tend to have far fewer entities in their immediate vicinity.

Despite the presence of entities, other wanderers, rubble, and other contaminants, the water within Level 102 remains pure and unable to be tainted, so long as the water remains within the level. Water taken from the level and transported to other levels will no longer possess this purity, being able to become polluted. Any pollutants within the water will fail to mix with the water and immediately sink to the floor, including pollutants on the surface of living beings such as wanderers, meaning the water within Level 102 can be reliably used to clean garments or other items.

Level 102 has several smaller sections that all inevitably connect back to the primary area of the level. These smaller sections may look more dilapidated and old and are often far smaller compared to the main area of Level 102, but despite their far more rundown state, the water maintains the same purity as the rest of the level. Smaller sections within the level tend to harbor an increased number of entities, less light, and less stability, possibly resulting in a tunnel or sub-section collapse. Sub-sections one may find can include small corridors, far more primitive freshwater storage, or a mixture of both.

Wanderers within Level 102 may experience what are thought to merely be hallucinations; these include a dark hand sliding behind a structural pillar, the sound of water splashing behind them, and other unusual hallucinations. It is not known what causes these, and some theorize that they may be an undocumented entity. Hallucinations scarcely occur outside of the primary area of Level 102, though one may rarely hear water splashing or see a featureless black head peak around a corner. Wanderers feel notably more paranoid and claustrophobic within these sub-sectors. The drain on their sanity due to this is fairly nominal, although the risk of undergoing the Wretched Cycle still lingers.

Entities[]

Several entities can be found within Level 102, although in scarce numbers. These entities include but are not entirely limited to:

Clumps[]

Clumps can often be found within sub-sectors, huddled in corners waiting for prey to ambush. Clumps are far less common within Level 102, but still present a notable threat when traversing the level.

Needlelimbs[]

Found only within the primary section of the level and serving as Level 102's main threat, Needlelimbs found within Level 102 appear far more agitated and can be found traversing the level; if one is to hear splashing, it is advised to stay silent. Though these sounds may be hallucinations, it is always recommended to exercise caution.

Wretches[]

Can be found roaming mindlessly throughout Level 102; Wretches within the level do not exhibit any notable differences in behavior.

Narco Jellyfish[]

Originally discovered on Level 102, Narco Jellyfish can be found in deep pools within particularly darker sub-sectors.

Colonies and Outposts[]

M.E.G Outpost Lacuna[]

  • Willing to trade.
  • Uses Level 102 to acquire clean drinking water.
  • May help lead wanderers to an exit if they ask.

Entrances and Exits[]

Entrances[]

  • Noclipping through the floor of Level 8.1 may lead here.
  • Submerging yourself in the water of Level 0.8 may rarely take you here.
  • Wandering deep into the pools of Level 37.9 has a small chance of leading you here.
  • In there, diving into a pitfall filled with water then resurfacing might send one here.
  • There is an incredibly minute chance that floating on the lake within Lakeport on Level 124 will take you here.

Exits[]

  • Corridors within the level may lead to Level 2.
  • Noclipping into notably darker pillars may lead to Level 30.
  • Wanderers have successfully entered Level 330 through this level, though it is not known how.
  • Noclipping through the walls of a sub-section may very rarely lead to Level 597.
  • Entering a claustrophobic passage sends one to Level 268.
  • Falling asleep sends one to Level 416.
  • Noclipping through an out-of-place pane of glass sends one to Level 48.
  • Numerous medhods can lead to Level 102.1, the level's sub-level.
