As the title of the level implies, Level 105 resembles a vast variation of an idealized American fallout shelter. Long hallways permeate the level, and the doors tend to lead to more hallways. However, the doors might lead to different rooms such as bedrooms, indoor diners, medbays, generator rooms, water treatment plants, and inexplicably, barbershops. Some of these rooms even have windows to the outside, but looking through them only reveals a thick layer of bedrock. Sounds from other hallways and rooms do not reach into other rooms unless a door connected to said room is opened. The sound reaching into another room will also be cut off when the door is shut. Wanderers can also find canned food and canned water in the bedrooms and the indoor diners, but it is unwise to eat or drink anything from these cans. Studies of these cans have found that both the canned food and the canned water are contaminated with an anomalous compound similar in structure to human DNA. The compound has shown to be a highly reactive one, and it does not like human flesh. Or open air for that matter.
Survival Tips
To survive in level 105, it is recommended that:
If you see any posters, under no circumstances touch them.
While posters are uncommon on level 105, it would be very wise to avoid them. Posters typically resemble propaganda posters from various time periods and nations with differences that are not visible to the naked eye at first, such as a slight misspelling of a word or being a shade lighter than normal. However, some posters have more noticeable differences such as being written in unknown languages, words being written backwards, inverted colors and even being abstract to the point of incomprehensibility. For unknown reasons, the 'Destroy this mad brute' poster is more common than others, and those who have seen these posters in this level will claim that the eyes of the aforementioned 'mad brute' on the poster will follow them. These posters always cover holes roughly the diameter of someone's arm.
If one touches a poster, even by accident, its true nature as an entity of the backrooms is revealed. The poster will jump out at the unfortunate victim and latch on with a vicegrip, and this grasp penetrates even heavy clothing. It will then pull its victim into the hole as though it was being reeled in by an invisible fishing line, typically with graphic results. If a catch is successful, the poster will always drag its victims into the hole in full before reemerging from and covering the hole once again. Especially successful posters are marked by the hole they cover being encrusted in dried blood. Though it is not impossible for someone to survive a poster attack, the prognosis is typically grim due to the severity of the injuries caused by them. Survivors of poster attacks are usually missing one or more limbs.
