Level 1068 is the 1069th level of the Backrooms.

Description
Level 1068 is a dead forest shrouded in relatively sparse fog. The dead trees stretch between fifty and seven feet above the ground, and the branches atop the trees weave into one another. Weak rays of sunlight bleed through the treetops.
The only point of interest in Level 1068 is an eight-foot tall rock embedded into the dirt, which in turn is surrounded by seven smaller rocks which each represent one color of the rainbow. It was discovered by a Wanderer that the bigger rock can interacted with in such a way that it can glow correspondent to a color of a smaller rock, and result in differing effects. The bigger rock has been observed to have glowed four of the seven colors: orange, green, indigo, and violet.
If the rock glows orange, the sunlight from between the upper tree branches intensifies. The temperature of the forest increases, and the mist dissipates. In order for the rock to glow orange, a Wanderer must climb to the top of any tree in the forest and get a view from above the mist. This will cause the smaller orange rock to glow, which can be touched to make the bigger rock glow.
If the rock glows green, the forest becomes alive. Leaves adorn the trees, grass grows from the dirt, and the sound of birds can be heard. To get the rock to glow green, one must simply touch the smaller green rock. However, the effect is only possible when there is only one Wanderer in the level. Any Wanderer that enters the level during the effect nullifies the effect. The smaller green rock will glow once it has been fully covered by dirt and/or dead leaves.
If the rock glows indigo, a gush of wind will scatter leaves in a circular arrangement a few metres from the circle of rocks. The leaves themselves will glow indigo. To get this to happen, a Wanderer must strongly will for the smaller rock to glow indigo. If the intention is forceful enough, the smaller indigo rock will glow, the big rock following shortly afterwards. Upon stepping into the middle of the leaves, the Wanderer(s) will find themselves in a parallel version of Level 1068, dubbed Level 1068-X, where a small cabin containing food, water, a fireplace, and a bed can be found. It is theorised that an individual version of the level is created for each party of Wanderers. Wanderers can return to the Level 1068 bedrock by travelling to the location of the original eight-foot tall rock--which will have taken the form of a large, indigo rock--and touching it. The individually created cabin can be returned to at a later point.
If the rock glows violet, two doors will appear on either side of the rock: one leading to Level 1067, the other leading to 1069. The big rock will glow violet once all rocks are touched in sequence with respect to the colors of the rainbow: that is, red, then orange, then yellow, then green, then blue, then indigo, then violet.
The effects of the red, yellow, and blue rocks are unknown. The yellow rock has a hexagonal-prism shaped groove in it, suggesting that something has to be inserted for the effect to come to fruition. No such prism has been discovered, however, and it is hypothesized that the object exists in a different level. Some theories suggest that the blue rock might be connected to a water source in the forest, although such a source is yet to be found. The water from the parallel versions of the Level yields no effect.
Until the effects of all of the rocks have been determined, the Level will remain under close observation.
Entities
No entities have been confirmed, although this remains to be seen with the all of the rocks' effects' being undetermined.
Colonies and Outposts
No colonies have been stationed in the main level, although it is without a doubt that colonies have taken residence in the parallel, unique iterative versions of the Level.
Entrances and Exits
Entrances
- A hard-to-miss entrance can be found in Level 1067.
- A rarer entrance is found in Level 1066.
- If a wanderer stays in Level 1065 for more than eight hours, an entrance to Level 1068 may appear.
Exits
- Exits to Level 1067 and Level 1069 can be found upon activating the indigo rock.
- An exit to the Alpha Room of Level 1609 can appear in random positions. Green leaves will surround a break in the floor that will part once an individual stands on it.
