Level 1109 is the 1110th level of the Backrooms.

Description

Level 1109 is a large, pitch-black cave system, the walls of which are made of a smooth, hard, blue-gray stone (really hard. Trust me, I've tried to break it. Good thing some Wanderers found me, I do not want to be walking around the Backrooms with a broken wrist). Occasionally crystals can be found along the walls, faintly glowing. The glow illuminates everything around it, even if it is normally invisible (and it also goes straight through stolen skin. That was really creepy...). The crystals range in size from about the size of a thumb to as large as a person. These crystals are incredibly light, even the largest ones only weigh a few pounds. They are also not very hard to break off the walls, only requiring a couple pounds of force.

All attempts to make maps have failed, as the walls are constantly shifting when out of view (be careful lest you find yourself in a room with no exits. I kept staring at the walls, hoping to find that they had moved again. It was only when I fell asleep that an exit opened up. I was really confused when I woke up). The walls will never destroy buildings or crush people when they move, except in rare cases which have not been confirmed. Rivers of Almond Water can be found running through the cave, but it is very uncommon.

In this level, time is distorted and warped in strange ways. Nothing will age, wood will not rot, metal will not rust, and food will not go bad (really good for exploration!). However, there are some exceptions. Wounds will heal, you will still require food and drink, and you will still move forward in the 4th dimension.

Special Rooms

Sometimes while traveling around Level 1109, you may encounter a Special Room. They are very different from the rest of the level, but are still contained in it, so I'll just put them here instead of making a few unnecessary pages.

The Dark Room

When I first enetered this room, I thought I had somehow managed to get to Level 6. This room is pitch-black, and cannot be illuminated by anything except the crystals found throughout the level. When lit up by the crystals, it looks like the inside of a small hut made of wood. There is a table and two chairs, but no other furniture. The hut has no windows, doors, or entrances of any kind except the one you entered it through. It is recommened to keep an eye on the entrance at all times, or you could be trapped in the small room by the moving walls.

The Fun Room

I've never personally been in this room, but I found a recording about about it. Here's the transcript:

1: "What...? Where are we?"

2: "Is this Level Fun? I don't recall anything about a connection between 1109 and Fun..."

1: "It doesn't really look like it. Look at those decorations... that definitely does not say 'Happy Birthday'."

2: "'What are you?'"

2: "Yeah, this isn't Level Fun. Not even any Partygoers..."

1: "The words changed."

2: "What?"

1: "The decoration. It changed."

2: "'Why are you here?'"

2: "Uh... we just wandered in."

1: "Yeah, I have no idea how we got here."

...

2: "Do... do we have to look away?"

1: "Let's try it."

...

1: "Yeah, that seemed to work."

2: RGV2b3JhdG9y

1: "That's a strange name. Is that... Italian? Something similar? I'll put it through a translator."

...

1: "How do we get out?"

Entities

The only entities in this level are Skin-Stealers, Smilers, and Imprints.

A special event happens when you leave the level. Whenever any living thing leaves the level, it leaves an Imprint behind. It is an exact copy of you, physically and mentally. It has an exact copy of all your stuff. It has all of your memories, but from now on, it makes its own. These Imprints are impossible to tell from real people, except for two things: they cannot leave the level, and the original person cannot touch them or the things copied onto them during their creation. (Informaton provided by my imprint. Thanks, me!)

If a person leaves the level (creating an Imprint), comes back, and leaves again, nothing happens. You cannot have two Imprints at once (I was really excited to see what would happen... my disappointment was immeasurable and my day was ruined). Also, the Imprint does not gain all of your memories again. That only happens during the creation process.

Imprints are still recognized and attacked by the Smilers and Skin-Stealers. Other entity interactions have been limited, as this level only has two other types of entities. It is not known what happens if someone tries to touch their Imprint's stolen skin.

Colonies and Outposts

The Wanderers

The Wanderers are a small group of people and Imprints that wander around Level 1109. There are about 30 people, maybe a third are Imprints. I think some more of them might be Imprints, but they just don't know (or refuse to accept it. I know if I found out I was a copy of some original person, I'd be furious). They are friendly and open to trade, but they don't have much besides food, Almond Water, and a few weapons.

The Worshippers

The Worshippers are a large group of people who follow... oh boy... the Way of the True Light. They believe that all the light the crystals radiate is a kind of god king...? And all the different colors and types of light are different gods? I dunno, they won't tell me much. They aren't very welcoming to outsiders. I'm not going to keep pressuring them, they seem to be getting really annoyed. I don't get paid enough for this...
