The outside portion of Level 1120, featuring a frontal view of the cathedral against an overcast night sky.
Level 1120 is the 1121st level of the backrooms and is a large cathedral with some surrounding thin forest shrouded in permanent night that can be accessed while exploring level 126. Unlike level 126, all wanderers occupy the same area of the level.
The interior portion of level 1120's cathedral, showcasing the anomalous red light that streams in through the windows, almost as if they are lights themselves.
The inside of level 1120’s cathedral displays anomalous lighting properties, with red light coming through the windows while the outside has normal overcast night lighting conditions. There is no artificial lighting inside of the cathedral, and rooms are either bathed in red light or are completely pitch black. The cathedral’s inside has an anxiety inducing effect which gets stronger as time goes by, to the point where affected wanderers panic and run towards the exit of the cathedral. Contrarily, the outside of the cathedral has a soothing effect with the soft moonlight and buzz of various insects. Exploring the dark rooms of the cathedral drains sanity as well, which has increased effect the more anxious wanderers are, so come prepared with almond water.
The dark rooms typically are worth exploring due to the potential medium to high tier supplies found in them, including prepared meals that are replaced before they start rotting, super almond water, decently powerful weaponry such as morning stars and greatswords, and unconfirmed reports of powerful relics appearing in the heart of the cathedral’s dark rooms, but none have been recovered by any wanderers nor M.E.G. operatives.
The only entity in this level is Entity 112, hereby referred to as 112A, who hunts wanderers inside of the cathedral. Anybody who vanishes in level 1120 is presumed KIA. Insanities can exist for a short time here as well but they will be rapidly disposed of by 112A.
Various groups have attempted to set up outposts here, including M.E.G. operatives, small bands of wanderers, and a now decrepit group that called themselves Worshippers of the Fiery One. All outposts have been destroyed due to 112A chasing wanderers out of the cathedral which alerts 112A to the presence of the people in the outposts. Out of 4 attempted outposts and 22 M.E.G. operatives, only 3 operatives have survived. 112A is ruthless and will attack everything. It is advised to not attempt to make permanent residence inside or outside of the cathedral.
The only confirmed way to enter 1120 is to noclip through the walls in level 126. Some wanderers claim they have ended up in this level after climbing 1120 stairs in level -112, but this is untested and unconfirmed.
The exit to 1120 is deep within the cathedral near the center and will always be in a room illuminated with red light. This exit will take wanderers to level 0.22, but be advised that 112A will follow anybody through.
M.E.G. Notice: Do not enter this level if you do not know your way around the exits past it. 112A can chase wanderers for a very long time through multiple levels and can cause mass amounts of avoidable casualties if she passes through any populated level. Remember, the easiest way to shake her off your back is by noclipping.
We have plans for the future to send operatives and recovery teams to attempt to secure the supposed relics found in level 1120. If they are as powerful as these random survivors claim they are, they will be extremely useful for exploring levels we could never otherwise. Gotta figure out how to get past 112A first though.
Of course, how did I not think of it! The easiest way for our boys to get in there and safely explore is by luring 112A out and leading her around unpopulated levels. This article will be updated with the relics found accordingly.
