The Elevator

Description
Level 1216 is the 1217th level and one of the main safe havens of The Backrooms.
Elevator Panel
Hallway leading to the Command Center
Upon entering Level 1216, you will notice you are inside a large elevator with silver walls, white-marble flooring, silver doors, and a silver ceiling with small circle-shaped lights. The operating panel inside of the elevator only has one button and it doesn't have a floor number; it's just a blank button. When you click the button, instead of the elevator going up or down, you feel it move diagonally to the right. Once the elevator begins to move, you will notice the song "Things That are Beautiful and Transient" starting to play in the background. After about 30 seconds of moving diagonally, the elevator will come to a stop. Once the elevator doors open, you will see a small hallway illuminated with mint-green lights that are the same shape as the lights in Level 0, walls that are a mix of white paint & polished granite, and a square-tiled floor made of smooth concrete. At the end of the hallway is a dark green metal door with a green metal handle. After going through this door, you will enter a 4000 square-foot command center with computers, tables, office chairs, and large LED monitors on the wall in the front of the room. The room projects a faint humming sound, has plain white walls, a black linear-shaped, nylon carpet, and a square, white-tiled ceiling with square, white lights. The room smells newly furnished with a slight scent of sandalwood. Each computer desk has either 3 or 4 monitors, a keyboard, a mouse, and a Dell computer running Windows XP. Each monitor shows a login interface with the username and password credentials censored but filled out and ready to log in. Once you click enter on the keyboard, each monitor lights up and displays small white text in the top left corner of each one explaining its utility. All electronics in 1216 do not need a power source like cables or outlets to plug into. The entire level gives off a radiant form of electricity that powers any type of electronic inside of the room. Towards the back of the room, you will find a kitchen with a single sink that dispenses fresh almond water, refrigerators full of bottled almond water & canned ginger ale, vending machines full of beef jerky & protein bars, and small cabinets filled with antacid tablets, probiotics, multi-vitamins, and painkillers. Leading into the kitchen, you will find a tiny door handle built into the wall with a fire extinguisher inside. On the far-right side of the kitchen, you will find a white metal door with a silver metal handle and frosted glass. Upon entering this room you will notice it is a pantry area. Instead of food on the shelves, there are flashlights, boxes full of batteries of all sizes, battery chargers, first aid kits, duct tape, toilet paper, cardboard, and paper towels. On the right wall inside of the pantry room, you will see a white metal office cabinet. Inside it you will find all the required necessities to take care of a child wanderer stuck in the Backrooms; infant formula, bottles, diapers, wet wipes, and diaper rash cream. On the far-left side of the kitchen, you will see a black metal door with a silver metal handle. Behind this door lies a small room with 4 black metal office cabinets. Cabinet 1 is full of wrenches, hammers, pliers, and metal nails. Cabinet 2 is full of miniature camping stoves, attachable butane cylinders, butane lighters, eating utensils, vasoline, and cotton balls. Cabinet 3 is full of handheld radios, whistles, industrial-quality glowsticks, and road flares. Cabinet 4 is full of hatchets, paramilitary knives, smoke grenades, and holy water. All items found in the kitchen area are known to replenish upon closing the door to each one. Even though Level 1216 is still located within the Backrooms, wanderers state that once you enter the Command Center, you feel a strong sense of security; almost as if you've escaped the Backrooms entirely.
Monitors:
Command Center
- Monitor 1 displays every level in the backrooms and everything there is to know about it; ranging from danger severity, live entity/wanderer count, and level history. (The way in which the computers are able to pull these live analytics is still unknown).
- Monitor 2 displays a large, blue 3D square with thousands of small lights inside overlapping & interconnecting with one another. The digital 3D square resembles the entire Backrooms infrastructure and all of its corresponding levels. There is a small search bar in the top-right corner that allows you to type in a level name to search for. If you scroll in on the square with the mouse, it allows you to zoom in and monitor each level with a microscopic drone. The surveillance these drones provide could help wanderers learn more about different levels or entities without putting themselves in danger. It is not yet known how these drones operate or came to be. If a drone is destroyed, another appears in its place. When trying to search levels with active cognitohazards or other hazardous anomalies, you will notice they do not exist in the system. Many believe Level 1216's computer system is designed this way to ensure it stays entirely secure from hazardous influence.
- Monitor 3 displays an unimaginably long list of missing people from the Frontrooms that ended up in the Backrooms.
- Monitor 4 displays a small icon of a pegasus labeled "Backrooms Simulation Testing Environment". Once you open the program, a slightly transparent login interface appears in front of a picture of the mint-green light from -150.1. The username is set to "bresearchteam14" by default and the password is blanked out. It is not yet known what the password is for monitor 4, nor what the program was used for.
Colonies and Outposts
Backrooms Research Team
Before the 2001 Event, BRT occupied Level 1216 regularly for multiple types of testing. After the Level 70 Entity caught on to what they were working on, it brutally killed all 43 of them out of fear they would destroy his home just like they did the Frontrooms.
Arcadians
Standard Arcadian Patch
Arcadian Mercenary Patch
A small group of Wanderers, Scientists, Doctors, and Mercenaries also known as the Ontological Engineers are responsible for helping continue the work of the 43 scientists that once occupied Level 28 and 1216. The Arcadians primarily live alongside the Glowfolk in -150 / -150.1. They have also established a small outpost within 1216 where they store firearms, technology, and supplies. Shortly after the 2001 Event, two White Glowfolk, accompanied by a group of Red Glowfolk helped lead the Arcadians to Level 1216 to continue the work of BRT. The Arcadians were too small of a group to handle the nature of Level 1216, so they requested M.E.G assist them in utilizing the technology BRT left behind. The Mercenaries within the group are regularly seen going to and from Level 6.3. The Mercenary group within the Arcadians are highly trained black-project personnel that ended up in the Backrooms due to a special access program accident in the Frontrooms. They are known to complete the oddball assignments M.E.G refuses to risk their members on. Given the Mercenaries' experience with hazardous anomalies and experiments in the Frontrooms, they have virtually no fear regarding the Backrooms or its anomalies; making them the best option for extremely dangerous assignments. It is said that the Mercenaries within this group are working with M.E.G to completely exterminate all hostile entities on each level throughout the Backrooms, putting most of their focus on The Hive and Level ▓. The Wanderers, Scientists and Doctors are always seen wearing white & grey tactical gear covered with kevlar plating. They also have a patch on their arm that has a question mark & crescent moon with text that says "Don't Ask. NOYFB." The Mercenaries wear all-black tactical gear with kevlar plating and a patch on their arm that has a dark green phantom with a wizard hat. The top and bottom of the patch display text that says "Lifetime of Silence Behind the Green Door".
M.E.G
After a request from the Arcadians, M.E.G began their intervention in Level 28 & 1216, continuing the work of BRT and returning old technology to what's left of BRT in the Level 11 Lab. The Arcadians suggested that given the history of Level 28 and the Level 70 Entity, M.E.G should be guarded at all times by at least 4 Red Glowfolk when inside Level 28.
The Backrooms Security Force — M.E.G. Subdivision
Once M.E.G began their intervention within 1216, the Backrooms Security Force began regular trips to and from the level.
White Glowfolk
The White Glowfolk are almost never seen, but they are rarely spotted roaming around the kitchen area of 1216. Some believe they are always keeping watch over the level.
Entrances and Exits
Entrances
- Head to the back left corner of the Hotel in -150.1 on the first floor and look for the round table bar with the mint-green light above it. Here you will find Roger, an AI Bartender. Ask him for a Blue Lagoon with sliced lemon. After taking a sip of your drink, thank Roger and say "I'm having glimpses of hope in trying times." Upon saying this, Roger will slightly glitch out, making his face and shoulders twitch for about 4 seconds before his expression draws blank. He will then say
"Level 28... Connection... 4421068... 221632... But be quick about it..."before snapping right back to his normal self. Level 27 is the 28th level of the Backrooms, this is what Roger meant when he said Level 28. Head to Level 27 and roam around until you find a white adapter sitting on a wooden table. Before grabbing the adapter, make sure any people with you are touching you. As soon as you grab it you will all be teleported to Level 28. Very quickly head to the east side of the Physics lab and enter 4421068 into the safe. At the same time, the other people with you should keep watch for hostile machinery or the Level 70 entity (Accessing the safe in Level 28 is the most dangerous step because the Level 70 entity keeps watch over this level, but is blocked off from 1216). Grab the white tablet out of the safe and attach the adapter into the hole at the top of the tablet. Make sure to have the others with you in physical contact before entering 221632 into the tablet. After entering this code, it will teleport your group into the elevator leading to Level 1216.
Exits
- Enter the elevator in 1216 and press the blank button. Upon clicking the button the elevator will move diagonally to the left and start playing music once again. After about 30 seconds you'll teleport to the Backrooms Interdimensional Airport.
- Type "murphy" into Monitor 2's search bar on any computer in 1216 and you will be teleported to The Hub.
- Type "harman" into Monitor 2's search bar on any computer in 1216 and you will be teleported to Level 6.1.
- Press Alt+Tab+F7 on any computer keyboard in 1216 to be teleported to Level 3999.
