This page needs a fix.
Reason: There is such a thing as too long. Making the dialogue text spacing one line instead of three could help.

It may need design fixes (Wikitext, CSS), have a few SPaG errors, or other more minor problems.
Remember to check the page history and what links here before fixing.

In the midst of Level -2, The Hall of Dull Flames, I and Theo are slowly walking along the seemingly endless blue hallway with little understanding of where it could lead.

"We had already gone a long way in this dull corridor, but nothing had come across us."

"I feel very cold..."

We were moving continuously through thousands of neon lights in the middle of the frigid and damp body as the wet garments dripped water into the floor, leaving water marks behind us. We make a conscious effort to go, but the blue light follows us. It was quiet here, with only the faint sound of footfall sometimes echoing around the area. Every second feels like it is passing slowly in this place.

"I feel very sick, heated all over, and uneasy in the chilly environment of this narrow hallway. I currently feel really damp."

"I got nothing..."

Step by step, slower and slower, I tried to hide from the cold of the surroundings, and nearly chose to rest here initially because of this horrible cold, till...

"Wait! I see the light..."

That image encouraged me to open my eyes and consider something... Is that light associated with something in my memory?

"This path looks unusual and unique compared to others. I'm not completely sure, but the exit sign, pipes, and light indicate that we may have discovered an exit to a different level or even another area of this level. I don't really re—"

"Apartments..."

"What?"

I'm not sure what led me to say it. But something made me believe it was.

"What do you mean?"

"The place looks familiar..."

"Are you sure?"

"..."

"Just stop overanalyzing things. So we had best get moving and find a place to stay. Today has been enough of a stroll."

My attention was focused on that light at that time, and that sentence entered my thoughts. Is that yellow light mean;

"No-Clipping into a yellow wall or finding a yellow hallway in The Hall of Dull Flames will lead to The Apartments."

I'm still unsure of what an apartment is and why my mind started to recall something related to it.

"Arno, are you still there?"

"Oh, yeah."

I couldn't stop thinking about it as we headed to that yellow light, and the brightness dimmed as I walked till I saw that place.

"We're at another place... Are you still thinking about that?"

"This looks—"

"Level 13"

"Huh?"

Although it is not specifically the same, this location resembles that lost level in appearance, and its unique features bring back all of my distant memories. No matter how faint my memories are, those details, vintage architecture, the distinctive style of wallpaper, the carpet pattern... I can remember that thing exactly.

"Theo, do you remember Level 13?"

"Oh, Vitrum Madness. That greenhouse—"

"No, not that Level 13, I mean... The Apartments..."

"I don't understand."

"It's difficult to describe, but I remember that Level 13 used to be different. I almost feel as though something happened that caused me to almost forget it, but now I remember."

I pause for a moment.

"Do you remember Hugo?"

As I unzip my bag, I am reminded that he had previously sent me a message via email. I keep looking in my bag, get my laptop, and go through all of my mailbox's messages until I find one that was sent by him. It was his last communication to me, and after that he didn't provide me any more information. I decided to read his most recent message since I was curious as to what had actually happened.

Subject: Tomorrow, I have to travel to M.E.G. Base in Level 13 A.K.A. "The Vintage Apartments".

Hello there! I'm not sure if you're asleep because it's late here. I just wanted to let you know that I won't be at your birthday party tomorrow. I'm so sorry. You know there are many cool things there, but I have a lot of stuff at work.

So M.E.G. based at Level 13 just discovered valuable resources, and they have sent me to collect things and transport them to the headquarters in Level 11. Maybe you can visit me at M.E.G. based at Level 11 when I finish my work, but I'm pretty sure it will take more than a day.

For some reason, I already asked the M.E.G. leader to leave work. However, they can't because many other explorers are sick, and some have to do another significant job. Sound like a very unlucky day for me, and I have no choice. I'm so sorry, and happy birthday, too! Don't forget to let Theo know I won't be coming tomorrow.

What happened? Where is everything, for that matter? My thoughts and attention are still on this. My mind has been asking questions, but I still can't explain, and neither can anyone else. Why did Theo and I suddenly forget about our closest friend? Why does nobody recognize Level 13? Is there something that led everyone to forget about this level?

The Backrooms tried to delete this level, erasing everyone's memories of it. Everything has been abandoned and left behind, they were treated as if they had been forgotten, left to suffer inside.

"Nobody came for us."

Subject: Inconsistency in the Database

Something unusual has happened regarding the database that I have never seen before. So, during my working hours, I spent cleaning and maintaining the database in Level 4, deleting all unused items from the studio computer due to the computer slowing down, and feeling delayed during my work, until I received a Low-Space Warning and the computer refused to accept any file to the folder, so my friend and I decided to clean up the computer and the database.

I was purging unused files when I unexpectedly found an image I had never seen before. It resembled a corridor, maybe an apartment hallway. The file had the name "Level13.jpg," which surprised me because Level 13 in our database never had a picture like this—as you probably know, the current one is the greenhouse. I mean, it couldn't be a mistake or a hoax since to change or add a database, you need authorization, and as the website administrator, I checked, and there was no warning notification, and there was nothing wrong with the inclusion of this file.

Because of my suspicions regarding these little details, I use history to restore some database parts to a previous state at a normal level list. Well, it is usual for database information to change over time as the revert version doesn't correspond to what we now have. Some of it is due to misunderstanding, and most of it caused by natural phenomena that may cause new levels to develop or modify their entry and exit, as well as by whatever level can change its slot due to our discussion.

But it's strange because Level 13's previous revision and new revision are entirely distinct, and neither I nor anyone else in the database knew about the old Level 13—it suddenly vanished without being moved to another level slot. There isn't any additional information related to the previous Level 13, not even a few explanations for why it vanished. I have already looked on everything in the log on modifying or removing levels; none has anything to do with this level, and the database doesn't include any references to The Apartments.

Any state that existed before January 27th, 2021, identifies Level 13 as "The Infinite Apartments" or "Vintage Apartments." I can assure you that Level 13 has always been listed in our database as "Vitrum Madness," and this version has persisted for far longer than 50 years! I have no idea what these occurrences signify, and everyone in the database is stunned. However, something else shocks me even more than this. I am the user that added the previous Level 13 to our database. Is it possible that reversed states are connecting to a different universe? If that's the case, this is a serious problem. However, I believe there is a phenomenon that causes everyone to forget about things. Since I still don't know much about this, I suppose we should discuss about it.

I attempted to restore the previous version of Level 13 once more. After discovering that there are two versions of Level 13 on the current Level 13 page, I reinstated the earlier version and obtained the following results. I will put my screenshot on the archive page in our database and keep you informed of any further discoveries.

Level 13 is the 14th level of The Backrooms.

Description[]

The first known image of Level 13.

Level 13, otherwise known as "The Infinite Apartments" or "Vintage Apartments," is a seemingly never-ending apartment complex featuring multiple system hallways. The building has an extensive number of floors that are accessible through stairwells. The building's design is reminiscent of traditional 1980s architecture, with a distinctive kind of wallpaper with a color scheme resembling mono-yellow Level 0, a unique carpet pattern, and fluorescent bulbs. The condition is rather old and unclean, having tears, dusty, cracked, and occasionally possessed small holes.

Each building has its internal stairway system for general accessibility, arranged randomly. Elevators perform the same, although they can only transport up several floors or to another level, usually back to Level 3 or up to Level 14. The current estimate is roughly one thousand stories, with the possibility of more. The floor appears more unsteady as you ascend, seeming more deserted.

The layout seems to be created by overlapping and stacking buildings. As a result of the perplexing architecture, the hallways between buildings might be incompatible, resulting in dead ends and making it impossible to explore another area further. However, most buildings are logically linked as certain hallways may twist and bend to join them. Light flickering and outages can occur and typically affect all hallway lights, leaving the area completely dark and making navigating difficult. A flashlight is necessary in this instance.

Another image of Level 13.

Each building has a constant design throughout the floor, while various edifices will have varied designs but not so much that they are almost identical; the differences include wallpaper and carpet style, along with hallway and room layouts. The layout is known to have a consistent design in an organized manner, with intersections, and both side doors will always be logical. Even though it is a dependable design, some hall building processes are strange, it doesn't seem to be human-built, but rather it was randomly generated. The confusing hallway arrangement appears to result from a miscalculation that led to passageways crossing one another without any connections, resulting in a dead end in one hallway and a long hallway without a junction in the other.

The doors are typically locked, with only a few exceptions being opened by themselves or damaged. Beyond the doors is the apartment room. Each room varies as if they were stratified, ranging from empty, little furniture to comparable hotel rooms, but all of which have the same aspect of being deserted and dusty as though they haven't been cleaned in a while.

Despite being vacant, Level 13 features a lot of items. Almond Water, Liquid Pain, Cashew Water, and many additional objects are commonly seen here—frequently observed in the room. The Wi-Fi signal at Level 13 is also exceptionally strong. This crucial information makes Level 13 essential for several outposts, notably M.E.G.

Even if the level's main hazards are entities, abandoned areas might still threaten the ecosystem. Walls and ceilings with cracks may droop and erratically tumble down. Those beneath the collapsing roof will be crushed, and while many may escape the impact, dust will be dispersed over the area, creating respiratory problems. Occasionally, cables hang from holes in the ceiling, forcing wanderers to divert in search of another way, as it is uncertain whether the electricity goes out.

The Lobby[]

Upon arriving at Level 13, wanderers will find themselves in what looks to be the level's lobby, an immense space with a front desk, furnishings, and decorative items that go with the theme of the area. A door in one of the lobby's corners opens to a corridor. Each lobby room in a building will have its district design and always be on the ground floor.

Alongside the front desk, multiple key boxes were found, with keys inside a few of them. These keys, known as "Level 13's key," can be used to unlock a residence on the building. Unlike any other, these keys appear to have special abilities that can open any locked door. As you insert the key into any lock, it will duplicate the lock from the door and paste its key itself, unlocking any door. However, it can only use one entry at a time.

Entities[]

Entities are rare at Level 13, but encountering one can be harmful. These include Facelings, Smilers, Hounds, Skin-Stealers, and Clumps, which might be found lurking in various cabinets. Deathmoths are more prevalent in hallways than in rooms.

But the same cannot be said for Windows, which are the most common on the level, may be found in hallways, and are frequently located in rooms. Windows in here are not harmful; in fact, they are the major light source when there is no light; nonetheless, it is uncertain what is on the other side of the windows, so it isn't suggested to go.

Colonies and Outposts[]

Base M.E.G. Depot[]

Level 13 M.E.G. base utilized to gather and transfer precious materials to the main base. The base is close to the exit door to Level 11. It can also serve as an entrance from Level 11. All members are explorers with specialized jobs such as surveying and guiding all valuable resources to the base for trading with other outposts, while a few members guard the base.

Backroom Colonists Base Vintage[]

The outpost can be present as a sanctuary for wanderers passing across the level. The base has around 20 members and is close to M.E.G. Base. It also has a small storage area where members may collect items they discover and sell them for supplies and good change.

Entrances and Exits[]

Entrances[]

  • The most common entrance to Level 13 is by entering an apartment building on Level 11.
  • Some elevators in Level 3, Level 4, and Level 5 can lead one here.

Exits[]

My Dream...

Last night, I had a dream that resonated with me and made me remember it very well. I have terrible premonitions about my friends as if I were having nightmares. The dream took place on Level 13. My friends and I shared a joke and laughed as we talked in the outpost.

The room began to shake; it trembled too much as if I were in reality. My friend and I immediately started grabbing everything we could as the platform crashed and tumbled into the pitch-black abyss. I had the impression that I was falling from an immense height into an unending void with no idea where it might end. Then I witnessed my fellows, and friends, being blown into the endless, dark abyss. One by one, one by one, until I was the only one left, I could hear their screams that gradually faded until it was entirely silent, and everything turned dark.

The minute I woke up from this dream, I discovered that all of my close friends were on Level 13. Because this dream seemed too real, I knew it wasn't a usual dream. I am very aware that they could have an unpleasant outcome. Something terrible might happen to them.

No...

There would...

A transcription of a dialogue from the record device during the journey to The Apartments.

[Hugo R.]: Hey, Hugo here; hopefully it's not too late.

[Kevin I.]: Yes, that's fine. What's up?

[Hugo R.]: I'm fine; I just need your help. Can you use your phone as a GPS device? Yeah... My GPS app informed me that I needed to update for some reason, but I can't do it at the moment since there is no WI-FI signal, even though it will take a long time to complete.

[Kevin I.]: Don't worry; I've got this.

Kevin took the picture before using his phone's GPS app.

Kevin I. captured the image of Level 11 during the journey to The Apartments.

[Kevin I.]: I'm glad there is a signal here, so... What did they tell you about going to that place?

[Hugo R.]: They told us to collect objects, some kind of valuable resource. Wait, let me check my phone.

For a while, there was silence, interrupted by the sound of footsteps walking on the concrete.

[Hugo R.]: As I mentioned earlier, we need to gather materials and transport them to our main base. Woah, there's also Super Almond Water?

[Kevin I.]: No way... that was an extremely rare object, and I had never seen one before. I heard that this item could only be discovered in a few levels.

[Hugo R.]: Yeah, I know.

[Maddy Iris]: So where are we going?

[Kevin I.]: The Apartments.

[Maddy Iris]: No, I mean, how do we get there?

[Kevin I.]: Oh, by entering a structure that resembles an apartment.

Silence for a while.

Image of Kevin I. using his phone's GPS app to locate the destination. Hugo R. took the photo.

[Kevin I.]: Turn left here and keep going straight; our destination is not far ahead.

[Hugo R.]: This place is so isolated. The building that surrounds us is like a duplicate of itself. We haven't found anyone yet.

[Kevin I.]: It is normal because it is now early morning in the time zone, as you know.

[Hugo R.]: I see it right there. That building stands out from the others; it must be our final stop, isn't it?

A transcript of a discussion from the recording device between Kevin and Hugo in the temporary residence room.

"Arrival, at last. It's a long day that lasts from this early dawn till late at night."

"I'm relieved that the base is not too far from the entrances."

"What happened to the mission's progress, and why haven't we received any new orders from the M.E.G. outpost leader? So I suppose we'll have to spend the night here?"

"Yes, it seems like the mission will conclude longer than I expected."

"Additionally, when outpost members discussed the mission with you and others, I stayed in this room the entire time since I was sick and fatigued, so I wasn't there to listen to what they said. Would you mind telling me what happened there?"

"Oh, it appear that those responsible for the shipping of various things are having certain delivery issues. Some items and stuff are still missing. Additionally, the products are not neatly organized since the organizers operate too rapidly and the management sets too short of deadlines. I didn't pay attention to what they said about the delay, though."

"Unfortunately, I was unable to attend my friend's party tonight due to this task."

"I'm sorry to hear that..."

"Damn, I wish I had time to celebrate and enjoy a good time with friends, and I'm so hungry for something tasty. I hate this..."

"Did you notice that the place where we are staying wasn't a M.E.G. base?"

"Oh really? So what is it then?"

"It was a Backrooms Colonists' base, where travelers typically stay when they want to take some rest from their travels."

"But why hadn't I seen any Backroom colonists? The base nearly seems deserted."

"I have no idea either; I spoke with a M.E.G. member, and they informed me that two days ago, all Backroom colonist members left the outpost for no apparent reason; their superior instructed them to do so."

"I suppose they have a better spot to relocate to... However, I find it quite surprising that the M.E.G. base and the Backroom colonist are so close to each other."

"Yeah, so they can trade and help each other, I guess. Even though the main area of the base look like abandoned things and item—except furniture which is clearly being moved and taken away, all resident rooms are clean, which pretty much compare to the hotel room and show no sign of abandonment. I love staying in here."

"Agreed. Also, it is very late now. Let's sleep and hope tomorrow will have any good happen."

"Yes, I guess they may trade and help one another. Even though the main part of the base appears disbanded with things and items—except the furniture—clearly being moved and hauled away, all resident rooms are clean, which compares to hotel rooms and shows no sign of abandonment. I truly enjoy being here."

"Agreed; likewise, it's late now; let's sleep and hope the situation improves tomorrow."

The Apartments began to descend into a dark abyss before fading away amongst the many individuals that slept peacefully, unaware of what was happening...

I awoke early the next morning, Hugo still sleeping because he was exhausted the day before. I think I'll go for a walk.

I leave the room and proceed in the opposite direction of the entrances. Since the apartment has a strong WI-FI signal and I can use a GPS device to return to the base, I don't have to worry about getting lost anymore.

The terrain around me becomes dirtier and dustier as I move farther out of the base. I just noticed that the apartment is not as clean as when I arrived yesterday; instead, it seems like base members clean the area around the base. This will improve the appearance of the base surroundings.

I begin to see tears in the wallpaper, along with little holes visible from another room and a crack that stretches to the ceiling. I feel the old, dusty flat when I put my finger on the wall. The wallpaper and fluorescent lights remind me of Level 0, but I'm glad I wasn't disturbed by a hum-buzz of light.

I thought today was silent, except for my walking footfall. When my friend and I arrived at the level yesterday, we could still hear running, knocking, and loud banging from above or from a distance. Indicates that these noises are generated by Entities present at the level. However, I had already walked for an hour or two and had not encountered any, except for the Windows that illustrate the light and brighten the gloomy corridor.

I tried to open the doors on each side of the halls but failed every time. I observed one that looked damaged, and without thinking I shoved it, and it slammed open. It seemed like a typical apartment room at a low price, with a lot of dust. I discovered two bottles of almond water as the dust flew when I slammed open the doors. I gather those and decide to return to the base while opening a bottle of almond water to sip on while returning.

As I make my way back to the base, I find Maddy standing at the entrance where we came from Level 11, looking at the fire escape door.

"Maddy, what are you doing here so early?"

"Kevin, come to look at this."

"Huh?"

"The exit isn't working"

"What do you mean the exit isn't working?

"Can you come and go through that door?

Kevin tried to open the door.

"It is locked."

"Yes, I have no idea why..."

"How is this possible?"

Kevin knocked and banged on the door.

"Uh, Hello? Hello!"

"That wouldn't help..."

Kevin begins to repeatedly slam the door.

"What the hell?! Why—"

Due to the loud banging noise, we made, one of the M.E.G. members showed up.

"Hey! What on earth are you doing there? You're making a lot of noise early in the morning."

"The door is locked."

"What!?"

"Dude, try going through that door again."

M.E.G. member tried to open the door with as much force as possible but was unsuccessful.

"Well, that… that's very bad."

"What are we going to do now?"

"Shit, I guess we need to find a new exit. I'll let everyone know about this..."

The scene shifts to Kevin and Hugo talking in their bedroom.

"That means that we are locked up here, right?"

"Relax, man. M.E.G. explorers are traveling to another exit which is two miles from the base. The exit suddenly stopped working but we can find another one; there are plenty on the level, you know."

"Alright, I guess there's no need to be concerned."

"I'm going to get some drink in the base, I will be right back."

Kevin exited the room.

...

Silence for 10 minutes.

...

Until Maddy approached him with a shocked expression.

"Kevin, you won't believe what I'm about to tell you."

"What—"

"They had completed their exploration and had arrived at another exit."

"Oh, how was it? Wait... Don't tell me that..."

"The door is also locked."

"Is it just a coincidence? Others might—"

"No, they also discovered more exits, but the same outcome."

"So that means..."

"This could be a dead end for us."

Hi,

Although I'm not sure who at Base Alpha received these emails, I'm writing to let you know that the Level 13 exits have changed. Please help us determine why there are no accessible or unlocked exits from the level. It is concerning because if there is no way to solve it, we could all get trapped inside the level, including myself. I want to know if the Level 13 entrances are still functioning. We are now looking for a way out of this level because I don't think there is anything we can accomplish from the outside.

"So you've already emailed M.E.G.?"

"Yeah..."

Someone shouting could be heard outside the room.

"Hello! Is anyone here?"

Kevin open the door to look outside.

"Oh, hello there."

"Who are you?"

"Hello, my name is Jacob, and I just came across this level; is this base for me to rest for a while?"

When did you arrive at this level?

"Yes, just a few moments ago, and I—"

"Take me there?!"

"Huh? I'm not sure what you mean, but I suppose I will.

Jacob guided Kevin to the location of the lock exit.

"Here?"

"Yes, I enter from this point."

"How?! The entrance is closed."

"Oh, I forgot to mention, haha. I came here by noclipping from Level -2."

"Do you realize what a terrible situation you're in?"

"I'm not sure what you're talking about..."

"This level's exits are all locked and inaccessible."

"You've got to be joking, right?"

"I am serious..."

A Wanderer had noclip and entered the Level recently, but when we attempted to lead him out using the same method, we found that it just wasn't successful. I'd like you to send a message to everyone telling them to avoid entering Level 13 in Level -2 for the time being because Level 13 is currently a dead end.

So there will be no exploration today to discover exits doors to escape from this level because everyone is exhausted and will debate what to do tomorrow.

01/29/2021

Three explorers make the decision to search for the level's exit, and they do so far from the base.

Kevin is at the M.E.G. base when the recording begins.

"So, how is everything going? Got anything?"

"Not yet."

"Did they describe the exploration to you in any detail?"

"No... despite the lack of a radio or other kinds of communication, we are unable to communicate. As soon as they return here, they will report the outcome."

"Are you sure that they're okay? How are they going to return to the base?"

"They all have GPS devices, so there is no need to be worried because there is still some signal at this level."

"Alright, I'm going grab some drinks."

Kevin exits the meeting room where conversations are taking place.

"Alert from a GPS application? Oh, sh—"

The record abruptly ended for an unknown reason.

But all I know is that the GPS signal stopped functioning unexpectedly, even though it had been working just a moment earlier. I'm not sure what happened, but the level appears to be trying to change—perhaps to a new level's appearance?

There is no GPS signal, so those three won't be able to return here. None of the M.E.G. members can identify a cause for why the signal disappeared all of a sudden. Since they have traveled so far and the level layout is complicated, they are lost forever inside the level's depth. Luck will determine their fate.

We are still stunned by what happened and hope that they will find hope, even if it is just a little one.

We can't do anything now because there's nothing to assist with exploring, and we can't discover any exits. So I suppose we'll be stuck here, maybe for eternity.

01/30/2021

I awoke on another day,

One M.E.G. member was found deceased close to the exit door from where my friends and I entered. He attempted to break through the wall to the other side of the room to open the door and leave this level. Unfortunately, he was electrocuted to death. The deceased member was the outpost leader's closest friend, and now he is very depressed and sobbing. He stopped talking to others and remained quiet.

We are about to run out of supplies since many are almost gone and out of stock. Even though there seems to be a lot at first, with 13 people — four of whom have already died and gone missing — at the base, it will run out shortly.

There aren't any updates today aside from what I already wrote. Therefore I would have appreciated a response to the previous email. We've looked everywhere for an entrance but haven't found one. I still don't give up hope. Many awful things have happened here; nine people are alive after four individuals in the base died, and others went missing. Please help us... please...

Please drop some food and supplies at the Level -2 Entrance because we are running low on stuff...

I accidentally drop my phone on the ground, damaging the phone's camera. It does not mean it has stopped working, but it is malfunctioning by displaying photos with strange hues and poor quality, like old retro photos.

I tried to fix my phone camera that was malfunctioning but failed. The phone is still fine except for the camera, but thankfully there is a technician in the base; he fixed my broken camera lens, and everything is fine now. However, when I dropped my phone to the ground, it went off, and all of the notes and images I had recorded yesterday were lost.

Food and drink will run out today as they are nearly empty. Some people were reluctant to eat and drink because they had to share food and water, both of which had to be given up. Additionally, I haven't eaten anything yet today and have only drank one bottle of almond water. Due to a lack of food and water in the base, some M.E.G. are currently ill. M.E.G. attempted to locate some supplies around the base but was unsuccessful because they had already packed all supplies away, which explains why they couldn't find any. They will have to travel a long distance to get supplies.

Many people are starting to get sick, colds, and other symptoms related to inadequate nutrition, minerals, and vitamins. One of the M.E.G. members is not doing well. Living in these circumstances is not simple.

Please send something, please. If this continues much longer, we're going to die in here soon.

Nobody came for us.

"Still no response."

"It seems like they've forgotten about us."

02/02/2021

Everyone is hopeless.

02/03/2021

Two M.E.G. members were found deceased on their beds after being deprived of sustenance for several days while also being ill. Another two people, including the outpost leader, were murdered by their gunshot.

Maddy went missing today, and I believe she decided to leave the base. Hugo is not doing well today. I tell him:

"Hey, man, we have to go."

"Where?"

"We have to keep looking for an exit. It's all we can do."

"I'm afraid I won't make it; I'm exhausted."

"No, I don't want to abandon you here—"

"Please, Kevin, Don't let me complicate things for you. I can't take it any longer; I can't do it."

Hugo picked something from the bedside table.

"I give it to you."

"What is it...?"

"I bought Super Almond Water from the outpost storage."

"Why don't you take it and use it for yourself? You're—"

"You deserve it."

"..."

"I believe this will be important to you in the future. Do me one last favor; leave this place and look for exits. I'll stay here and wait for you. Whatever I am, I will still wait for you..."

"I put all my faith in you..."

"I need to rest for just a little bit..."

His eyes begin to close, and I know they will never open again. I have to leave. I don't want to observe my friend in such a state.

I leave the base and abandon him in this deserted place.

Level 130 is the 131st level of The Backrooms.

Description[]

The first known image of Level 130.

Level 130, otherwise known as "The Infinite Apartments" or "Vintage Apartments," is a seemingly never-ending apartment complex featuring multiple system hallways.

Despite being vacant, Level 130 features a lot of items. Almond Water, Liquid Pain, Cashew Water, and many additional objects are commonly seen here—frequently observed in the room. The Wi-Fi signal at Level 130 is also exceptionally strong. This crucial information makes Level 130 essential for several outposts, notably M.E.G.

The Lobby[]

Upon arriving at Level 130, wanderers will find themselves in what looks to be the level's lobby, an immense space with a front desk, furnishings, and decorative items that go with the theme of the area. A door in one of the lobby's corners opens to a corridor. Each lobby room in a building will have its district design and always be on the ground floor.

Alongside the front desk, multiple key boxes were found, with keys inside a few of them. These keys, known as "Level 130's key," can be used to unlock a residence on the building. Unlike any other, these keys appear to have special abilities that can open any locked door. As you insert the key into any lock, it will duplicate the lock from the door and paste its key itself, unlocking any door. However, it can only use one entry at a time.

Entities[]

Entities are rare at Level 130, but encountering one can be harmful.

There are no known colonies or outposts in this level.

Entrances and Exits[]

Entrances[]

  • The most common entrance to Level 130 is by entering an apartment building on Level 11.
  • Some elevators in Level 3, Level 4, and Level 5 can lead one here.

Exits[]

??/??/2022

Many days, months, or perhaps even years have passed. I've traveled a great distance—thousands of miles—passing through numerous apartments. Even though there was everything necessary for living, my mind was exhausted, and in poor mental health. I'll never forget what happened that gave me nightmares and made me unable to smile. I can't find anyone, not even a sound, as this place is so lonely. I was alone with my thoughts in this isolated place...

Until...

I see the light...
