Description

Level 139 is an oddball level paused in time. It appears to be a small but modern town of sorts, completely devoid of entities, but animals and the occassional human are spotted in the middle of running or walking. Wanderers into the level have observed cars with the drivers frozen. Sometimes they may be in the process of speaking, sometimes they may be turning the steering wheel. Birds may be in the process of flying high in the air, dogs in the process of running, cats in the process of sleeping, and squirrels in the process of leaping (to name a few).

The Librarian

Warning! It has been observed that the following section is in fact an entity of its own. We are not sure how, but distortion, text manipulation, and strange glitching is present on the page in red font. We are not sure what is going on, and Operatives are currently investigating.

There has, however, been some form of entity referred to by some as The Librarian. However, due to the untrustworthy sources of this information, it is not believed The Librarian is a real entity in this Level.

you sure about that? because this is, huh, I'm pretty sure I do exist.

This entity seems entirely different from all the other entities... almost humanlike.

no duh the

UPDATE: The M.E.G. has sent Operatives to Level 139 in the hope of finding out more. Especially about the Librarian.

Not sure where the "the" in my name came from. Makes me sound like a monster of some sort...

<BEGIN LOG>

[7:43 PM] Mal - I think we're in for a treat. He's... in this direction.

Gordon - Let's get to him and escape to The Hub quickly. I don't like this place.

Mal laughs.

Gordon - What? This place looks so... perfect. But it's just - it's so - oh, I don't know. The Backrooms are a wild, wild place.

Mal - Understatement of the year.

Radio connects.

Base - Operatives, do you copy?

Mal - Yeah.

Gordon - Ready.

Base - Approach with caution. We don't know if they're really just a wanderer. They could be with -

Gordon - The C.P.A? Or don't tell me Jerry's back.

Mal - Yes, because that makes sense, Gordon.

Base - Operatives, focus. 139 may seem innocent at first, but this is one of the only instances of time behaving unnaturally. The Backrooms do not follow the laws of physics, but time seems to function normally.

Mal - It's important. Understood.

Gordon - It's different.

Operatives Mal and Gordon continue to walk, bickering all the way.

Mal - Hey? Anyone here?

Gordon - There's nobody. That's so strange... I could have sworn...

Mal - Gordon.

Gordon - I - what?

Mal - Don't turn around.

At this point in the audio, static and glitching is heard. No noice is heard, but ominious, cackling laughter is heard. After around a minute, the audio comes back.

Gordon - STOP! YOU HEAR - I'LL - BASE, SEND HELP - I -

Base - Operatives! Where have you been?!

Mal - You don't want to - AHHHHHH!

Gordon - It's the Librarian. It - AHHHHH - it took us!

Base - Remain calm, Operatives. We're sending -

Mal - We don't have time for sending! We -

Screaming.

The connection is abruptly cut off.

<END LOG>

Four operatives were sent to Level 139 to look for Operative Mal and Operative Gordon. Only one returned, and died before she could tell M.E.G anything.
